This just scratches the surface of solo content ;)
There are also many groups that accept anyone so it's a group of "solo' dudes so they can do pvp. Some groups are spectre fleet, bombers bar, eve rookies and more! As for full solo content there is lots to do, just know that you can still be solo and still make friends, they can come in handy for knowledge and an example like selling items to someone you know at a good price because they like to ship items around.

Eve online is a game about narrative. you can play "solo" or it being impossible to play "solo" depends on your definition of solo :). But you should try faction warfare friend!

I have returned to eve after a few years..I started in 2003 just after launch and have a lot of SP..I always ended up in orgs ..in permanent war decs .so my play was very PvP based but this time around I decided to not join an org and have to say I am LOVING just having the freedom to explore the game content. I had realised there was so much to do now! I still fancy PvP so will do some faction warfare..but Eve solo play is under rated.

I've been playing EVE mostly solo for over 10 years, off and on, as you do. I've only been in a Corp a couple of times and every time I'd just time out of it because I hate being shackled to somebody else's plans. Once you learn how the game works, this game can be a solo player's dream, particularly with the breadth of PVE content that's exploded into it over the years. I'm still an L4 Mission runner at heart, but learning the breadth of the rest of the game - including delving into exciting PVP - is an experience unlike any other. There's a reason I keep coming back to this game over the years, because there's just nothing else like it.

When I sold my house in the city to move in to take care of grandparents and their farm along with my roofing company , it came a few constant issues when trying to fleet with friends :
-no time to play with groups effectively
    -no energy
-not able to commit to any roams , even short ones
-not even able to commit to gate camps
-Constant need to be afk at a moments notice
-Can't join coms without being asked 900x who I'm on the computer telephone with lol
So I basically came up with way of SOLO playing that compliments my current life ......... Instead of being always docked , I am now just always cloaked BUT in places of opportunity.

I sit cloaked with both a sabre and DPS on a close to trade hub Wormhole and ambush whatever I want that enters......... and I have never been more successful in Eve as a "solo" pilot ( 2 chars obviously)
Each and every night , for the 1-2 hours I play , I get more outrageously ridiculous kills then I ever have and it turned out to be a blessing in disguise being forced to afk / play this way
The tactic allowed me to become the top killer in Thera for the last 3 years competing with HUGE groups of really good players all blue to each other and I play all alone , just 2 characters and somehow still #1 by alot while only attacking VIP targets , no seal clubbing
So yeh , you def can Solo in Eve in 2023
Click my name for the proof ;)

Love the fresh point of view. After 4+ years I've found that the majority of what I enjoy in this game is solo content. Yes, the 'higher tier' stuff requires a corp and multiple players to do safely or well, and there are many ways the game is adapted and designed for groups. 'Owning' territory in Null is impossible solo (unless you become a renter), and utilizing all the ship types in their intended roles requires a fleet.. but none of that is necessary to enjoy the game. No idea if you'll get hooked on it and spend years here like I did or if you'll enjoy for a time and move on, but I'm glad to have you here!

16:30 youre using armor repairer but your first HP bar is a shield, in order to repair the shield, you need a shield booster, the armor repairer repairs the 2nd bar and there is a hull repair it repairs the last bar. usually you run either with a shield based ship where oyu have your shield hardnere and shield repairs or armor hardnere and armor repairs. currently you mixed shield hardnere with armor repair, i assume in fitting screen you will see a notification which says that this is an not optimal fit

Loving it. I've been playing solo too, missions as well as exploration.
I think you'll have a lot of fun with exploration once you get comfy with the game. It's a very solo-able activity as well.
It can be some real white knuckle scary moments when you're carrying five times your ships value or more and you need to get back through a wormhole or two to get to safety.
Or it can just feel a bit like missions that you have to go find for yourself, either way is fun.

800+ hours on Eve Online, 100% solo, sounds like a lot of time, but it actually isn't. It all depends on your expectations, don't expect too much, you are just one unimportant guy in a huge persistent universe. For people who prefer to solo, there's a lot you can do, PVP, pve, exploration, mining etc, and there's nothing holding you back from really pushing yourself, but don't expect instant results, you won't get it. It's a steep learning curve for solo players and I'm sure I've missed out on a lot of fun and content so far, but that's the idea of a huge game like this.

  • @pureplay7071

  • @hotdogdcs2761

Great video! I like the angle you're coming from! There is a massive amount of PVE content in the game and even ways to interact with other players as though they were NPCs.. For example, utilizing the market and the many ways you can avoid gankers (griefers).
I'd look into the Faction standings system. The SOE Epic arc you're playing pays out a lot of points to the faction of your choice. Those points will make a LOT of different mission agents suddenly available to you.
I won't go on but there's a way to do the faction standing system right and a way to do it wrong, you can reverse mistakes but it's a lot of work. Its not a big deal in the early days but can cause problems for you further down the line if youre not prepared. Forewarned is forearmed!
Good luck with the series! 👍

We are in the same boat when it comes to being new to this game. I find pve to be a lot of fun. I did join a corporation because even though you can do everything solo, you can also do pve missions with a group of players as well. It felt awesome when I was mining with a bunch of players that are mining and watching each others back. It's in high security space, but with the event going on, the high sec space is going to be disrupted by pirate players. Which is why being in a corp is going to be a needed once you reach a certain point midgame.

I play solo :) Small suggestions.. first, think about how you fit your ships. Consider what the modules do for your ship, and what combinations might be most effective. And second, always be looking for ways to earn or save funds. Only spend when you have to. Every time you undock, consider how much money that ship "owes" you. If it gets destroyed, has it paid for itself already?

You can play EVE solo up to a certain point, after which you are required to join a corporation in order to do anything. I think that point is somewhere between Cruisers and Battlecruisers. Forget trying to solo in a Battleship. If you want to play exclusively solo in EVE, you're going to be stuck in the space equivalent of a wakeboarding boat with a couple machine guns duct taped to it.
This is one area where I feel EVE suffers the most, because a lot of people want to pilot the big ships but aren't interested in or don't have the time for doing PVP and/or corporation warfare. If CCP made an EVE-lite version where you could do solo stuff with the big ships, they would be making insane amounts of money.
