    This is the installation of solar heating panel system to heat up your spa or above ground swimming pool. This particular model is XtremepowerUS 90105 2 feet by 10 feet solar heating panel.
    The product looks well built and I did not experience any problem with leaks. Just make sure that you install the gasket that comes with the product.
    I will be using this on my Bestway 14' x 8.2' x 39.5 inches above ground pool that have a water capacity of 2,000 gallon.
    I will do a review of this product after using it for a couple of weeks. It is currently cloudy in my area and won't expect to see a sunny weather until next week so I will talk about how it performs during cloudy weather and how it performs as well when it is hot on the next video.

      Are you talking about the ties at the top of the pole? It is just a velcro strap I use to organize my computer cable. I actually replaced those with this amzn.to/3NAyyId because I can cut it to the length that I need.

    💥💥 Nice video, thank you. I’m curious to hear how well it’s working to hear the water. I don’t understand how it can for you with that shade cover over the pool since it has to be in direct sunlight.

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  2 года назад

      I get about 4 to 6 hours direct sun on the mat depending on what time I turn it on in the morning. My pool is a little less than 2,000 gallon and from my experience throughout the season it works great up to end of August because it gets a good amount of heat during the day. It started to not make much of a difference around mid-September because the position of the sun have greatly reduce the exposure of the mat to heat. Also, it is colder at night which lowers the water temp too much. Anyway, I was able to use the pool up to October. Water temp is low to mid 70's.

    Thanks for the video. What size is the return hose?

    Since you attached the inlet and outlet essentially in line, why wouldn’t the water take the path of least resistance and flow straight through? I think that your outlet should have been installed at the other end.

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  2 года назад

      It looks like the water will go straight from In to Out but if you look closely at how the product is made, it is actually a 2 piece panel design. The first half forces the water up into the small tubes then it goes back down to the second half and into the out like a "U" pattern. It is designed so you can attach more panels and make it wider if you need to. If I add a 1 piece panel making it a 3 piece panel design then it will becomes an S shape pattern and I will need to install the out on the other end. This is all stated in the manual.

      @@diymanualso the coupler connecting the panels together is actually blocking the flow and forcing it down one half and up the other? That would also mean the other side’s coupler would have to be OPEN. I have a very similar panel, and one side is in, other is return (you use opposing ends on each side so you get equal force through the hoses.) Doing it that way (full cross-flow vs. the “out and back”) also doubles your flow rate. Yeah, it gets one pass vs two, but flow rate has been proven far more efficient vs reduced flow and warmer water.
      Also saying it’s that way “so it can be expanded” doesn’t make any sense - the cross-flow allows you to add panels the same exact way. Both are going to have one of the hoses getting further away as you add panels.
      Actually as you add panels in the “out and back” way like you have, you’re doubling the restriction / length of hose with the same net hose diameter. Cross-flow does the opposite - cuts pressure in half and gets you closer to the standard flow capacity of the system minus any solar panels - BUT you’re still doubling the net solar surface area the water is in contact with.

    Question...Can I connect the heating panels before filling the pool or does the pool have to be full?

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  2 года назад +1

      You can connect the filters and heating panels as you assemble the pool but you won't be able to turn the filter pump on until the water is about 2 1/2 feet deep or until the water reaches the top of the 2 output holes to prevent the pump motor from burning.

    Are you worried about the filter pressure for the pool water now?

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  2 года назад +1

      Not really. Water pressure is lower so I just need to run the filter longer.

    Totally useless, waste of money, time and frustration. I just test them this summer in Sicily Italy , very very hot weather. The water doesn’t pass through all small lines BUT directly straight forward through the big main pipe. There’s no one-way valve or something……. To control that.

    • @diymanual
      @diymanual  Год назад

      Maybe you got a defective unit? Mine works in a U pattern input->first half goes up and the second half goes down to output. I can feel cold water on one side and warmer on the other.

    • @EstorilEm
      @EstorilEm 8 дней назад

      It’s supposed to go in one side and out the other (with each end having a hose on the opposite side) - this forces water equally through all channels.
      I’ve heard the directions are kinda useless but this so-called “DIY channel” is definitely not helping matters either. Not sure what happened to people sitting down and studying how things actually work. For his “U flow pattern” idea to be true, one of the couplers connecting the two strips together would need to be blocked (the side with the supply and return hoses) to force the water out and back again. From my experience, this is NOT the case - they’re simply couplers connecting the manifolds together on each side. So yeah - water just goes in one side of the manifold and out the other with this setup.
