    am confused..other sites say not to let water build up inside leaves. Also am curious about the potting medium. Seeems to be dark pebbles (charcoal?) but mixed with a soil??? Perhaps why mine never grow.

      I think so long as there's good air circulation, the water standing in the leaves won't stand long enough to cause rot. If you live in temperate areas, in the winter time, it'd be good to shake out the access water, but in summer time, if you have fans and open windows, it'll be just fine to let the water sit in the leaves.

      These are air plants and don't need much water nor direct sunlight

    I have a tillandsia cyanea for over a year now and so far it didn't create no pups. Is there something I can do? I just give the plant water as shown in the video, nothing more.

      Rooting feeding: (any orchid fertilizer). Foliar top feeding: any Bromeliads or Orchids fertilizers, that do not have Boron.

    Can someone tell me what they mean by "prepare the mother for rebloom"? I'm under the impression that after pups grow the mother will die away. Is there a way to keep it alive? Or do they mean to prepare the new pups that you don't remove for reblooming?

    If it's an Airplant why does it need compost? Three plants rotted under my care and the 4th is on way. Still can't get what's going wrong.

    • @Asiel66
      @Asiel66 5 лет назад

      Tillandsia cyanea can sit in soil too, preferably an orchid potting mix (bark chunks). If rotting is your problem then it's most likely overwatering. Spraying it once or twice a week and a good soak every 1-2 months is enough.
      But it still depends on light intake, humidity, temperature and season.

      in another video they recommended putting the pot with the plant into a closed bag with three apples for a month. the rotting apples produce a gas that helps Tilandsia grow flowers

      They do not produce a flower until they are about 4 years old from what i understand.

    my has grown 12 offshoots within like two months, but the leaves of the motherplant started drying like crazy (since it's near the root, I'm guessing it's rotting). I'm afraid the offshoots are going to suffer the same destiny

    • @user-jc1ok5fl9i
      @user-jc1ok5fl9i 5 лет назад +6

      Once the mother plant produces pups it dies. It may take a month or a year depending on the species but from what I understand Tillandsia die after producing pups.

    C'est une blague cette vidéo ?
    Vous avez expliqué seulement en anglais alors que tout le reste est en français. Où-est la cohérence dans tout ça ?
    Et puis vous arrosez seulement le cœur de la plante, ce qui peut la faire pourrir...
    Du coup j'ai mis un pouce vers le bas.
