My mother plant was dead and brown when I cut it off, it's not growing but a new offshoot is In place of one I cut out. Will the mother ever grow back??
am confused..other sites say not to let water build up inside leaves. Also am curious about the potting medium. Seeems to be dark pebbles (charcoal?) but mixed with a soil??? Perhaps why mine never grow.
I think so long as there's good air circulation, the water standing in the leaves won't stand long enough to cause rot. If you live in temperate areas, in the winter time, it'd be good to shake out the access water, but in summer time, if you have fans and open windows, it'll be just fine to let the water sit in the leaves.
I have a tillandsia cyanea for over a year now and so far it didn't create no pups. Is there something I can do? I just give the plant water as shown in the video, nothing more.
Are you using any plant feeder? I have had mine for almost a year and it does not look that healthy...and the pups that it has produce it's very small still.
I'm following the video ,hope this will work l've made hundreds of prayers while cutting the flower spike , because it started getting brown on the top and so thin , hope this will work otherwise I'm gonna blame myself for weeks
Can someone tell me what they mean by "prepare the mother for rebloom"? I'm under the impression that after pups grow the mother will die away. Is there a way to keep it alive? Or do they mean to prepare the new pups that you don't remove for reblooming?
Tillandsia cyanea can sit in soil too, preferably an orchid potting mix (bark chunks). If rotting is your problem then it's most likely overwatering. Spraying it once or twice a week and a good soak every 1-2 months is enough. But it still depends on light intake, humidity, temperature and season.
in another video they recommended putting the pot with the plant into a closed bag with three apples for a month. the rotting apples produce a gas that helps Tilandsia grow flowers
my has grown 12 offshoots within like two months, but the leaves of the motherplant started drying like crazy (since it's near the root, I'm guessing it's rotting). I'm afraid the offshoots are going to suffer the same destiny
Once the mother plant produces pups it dies. It may take a month or a year depending on the species but from what I understand Tillandsia die after producing pups.
Gostei muito desse canal, tudo muito bem explicado e detalhado, principalmente porque pude ler no meu próprio idioma, muito obrigada

These are air plants and don't need much water nor direct sunlight
What soil mixture you are using?
Hi, what type of soil please?
Mother plant sit water too long in the middle it's tuning brown in the middle.

Hola.

Rooting feeding: (any orchid fertilizer). Foliar top feeding: any Bromeliads or Orchids fertilizers, that do not have Boron.
I'm following the video ,hope this will work l've made hundreds of prayers while cutting the flower spike , because it started getting brown on the top and so thin , hope this will work otherwise I'm gonna blame myself for weeks
By the way while replanting i realised that roots were so wet almost roting , so I removed all the dry leaves
Prayers?

Sometimes the mother plant can bloom again)))
I believe the mother plant dies. That's what all the literature from the Bromiliad Society says.
Cuando vuelve a salir la flor??
what growing mediums? great video!!
Orchid soil
Can this plant be like an Air Plant or does it have to be in soil.
It's an air plant
Do you HAVE to remove the pup?
thank you!!!
What is the best soil?
How long to you leave the plant in the water ?
Where can i find this plant
I ordered mine from Walmart very beautiful and healthy
Que tiempo florece
Does it highly scented flower. ?
no. its not scented
@@queene4075 thanks for the info..
O cada cuanto?? Gracias
Are u supposed to let the water between the leaves build up or drain it???
drain. This plant does not like wet feet.
Nice video
Como se llama la rola de fondo? , solo se q es musica country
If it's an Airplant why does it need compost? Three plants rotted under my care and the 4th is on way. Still can't get what's going wrong.

Where I can buy this!?
@@Realatmx there all over the internet. Very easy to buy
How about fertilizer??
I have it for 2 years but no flower. Why?

They do not produce a flower until they are about 4 years old from what i understand.
