I found a Skull Key in the Demon Throne room in normal mode on a f2p account. I saw it was worth 40k and bought the game, but there's a timer that prevents you from trading right after buying legendary edition and by the time I could trade the Skull Key was worth 10k because the wipe has been announced.
The only thing that doesn't drop in prics but actually increase is BiS items. Buying a 5k frost amulet mid wipe u will sell it for 6k easily before wipe. People liquidate value items to get gold to then buy BiS. So, a smart investment is actually buying very good equipments that will alway sells, and that is nerf proof (anything with true damage, add damage, max health, action speed and so on). I've done this and it works really good. Hell, even non bis items goes +50% near the end. 1 month ago I could buy green heather shields with armor rating rolls for 150gold, now they're worth 200 to 250gold
Very well done, there are a few minor points that could have been covered on the value of keys, fluctuation of key prices, and the general selection of fiat currencies in DaD.
I remember when gold keys couldn't be worth more than 1250g because that's as much gold as you could fit in a single trade window and people were getting scammed left and right for trying to make them worth 2k Then the discord was created...
I learnt that lesson of raw gold being most valuable the first wipe and thankful I did. I had 28 gks end of that wipe, I got outbid by 30k raw gold for a kuma's fang never again will I stockpile gks.
This is why i wanted IM to up the drop rate of keys as they are never used for their intended purpose but used in the capitalism simulator side game in trading post rather than a item takes you on a journey to a risky area
Me when wondering why something cost its price: "Because they decided to sell it for that much". Mystery solved. :). But yea just gotta constantly follow patch notes and community activity to see what gets nuked in the market due to buffs/nerfs/changes. RMT Confused me at first for this game since there really isn't anything to "win" in terms of prize pools. There is just no need to have BIS at all times. I know RMT will always exist in every game I just failed to see IRL value to anything in Dark and Darker besides shop items (skins etc)
Skull key is a scam, items are only worth what people are willing to pay. period. the risk of trying to use a skull key in a run should not feel like your carrying 50k gold its a random Gatcha gamba roll that is worthless until it is used. the only reason it is high value is because of its size and and deligated "worth" but its inherent worth is 0 until used. so to make it worth 50k gold is honestly a scam that only benefits RMTers
You sound like you don’t understand economics, if people are willing to pay a price for something, then that’s what it’s worth. How is it a scam, people have deduced the worth from the potential reward and that is reflected in the market
"the risk of trying to use a skull key in a run should not feel like your carrying 50k gold " why not? you risk your gear everytime you enter the dungeons
"items are only worth what people are willing to pay" correct. How is it a scam then? Its literally a free market. The reason is irrelevant, it could be because people want a better way to store gold or because the potential rewards are worth whatever the SK is going for at the moment.
@@TheNinjarofl it's not something that benefits just rmters it also makes gold storage for players much more easier, and it's an easy way to buy and sell artifacts
wtf, why made you make this video for who??? for people who don't even know about wipe, hr?? why do they need to know about skull key prices lol, such a nonsense

oof, that is actually unlucky af
Nooo this is the most tragic story of the skull key crash that I have seen in so sorry brother 😂😭😭
Let's be real, if you're still f2p you wouldn't have even been able to make use of 40k without just throwing kits down the drain.
They got yo ass
still 10k though

Interesting for those who want passive ways to stock up for some fun at the end of wipe. Im going to try this next wipe.

Speaking of RMT - tf is that 10.5k gold green club lol 7:26
Maybe a way to store a lot of gold so they can get the gold from a sale?

people definitely trade in gold chests albeit far less than keys
on that note beginning of wipe chests usually value between 100k-ish
Bring back the lava monster pls
Wasn't there a dupe glitch that made all investment pieces drop in value.
How do you liquidate wealth from skull keys before crash? Should you sell them for gold on the market?
Curse that bastard Surgeon making me open 3 skull doors for his quest.
Quest can be completed in normals and in normals you don't need key to open any of this 2 doors
@user-no9yp4ow3s actually massive info. Thank you and bless your kindness
@@TymurTarverdiievHow so?
bruh i did that quest in norms lol. skull key only needed to open it in hr. -120k gold.

I mean if there's a market you don't even need to play the game, just try to make a profit buying and selling
So gold key are useless for F2P
how much USD are people spending on X amount of gold, or skull keys?
I dropped a skull key on ghost king normal
But the skull door is open sometimes randomly isn’t it
nope
