I love Randy's philosophy and outlook on what makes a good handling car. A lot of people/reviewers use words like "exciting", or "makes you work for it", etc. to describe what is basically a car that gets unsettled easily and isn't composed. A well handling car is well damped, well controlled, and gives the driver complete confidence when driving hard and makes you feel like a hero. He is also a BIG Magnetic Ride Control fan on the Corvette and Camaro's.
I love the way Randy seems like some crazy old man you that invites himself over to your table but then he gets in a car and lays down the best time it'll do on the second lap. What an absolute character and a brilliant shoe.
Justin gels so well with Matt - you guys need to get him back more often! I suspect you could shake out 3 hours of podcast without a moment of dead air.
You guys always have the best sounding mobile podcast. Lot's of other shows I listen to usually sound like shit when they're out of the studio, but you guys seem to pull off good sound in noisy environments. Keep up the good work!
"Forged Carbon" - It is absolutely the particle board of carbon fiber - a spot on analogy. You can take all your carbon scrap, cut it up and mix it with resin and you're left with "bulk molding compound / BMC" which is the actual industry term for this material, sans marketing lingo.

Pressure and temperature decreases as altitude increases. The tire pressure will decrease as temperature decreases but the lower air pressure at altitude surrounding the tire can cause the tire to swell depending on how rigid the tire sidewalls are constructed. The factors that are influencing the tires are the amount of air molecules in the tire, its temperature, and volume. The amount of air molecules are relatively fixed, the volume of the tire can change slightly, but temperature changes will probably have the biggest impact

It's always interesting and cool to see people we're fans of cutting loose after being buttoned up professionals a lot of the time we see them. Having all that racing knowledge and skill at one table shooting the shit is the best. Older race drivers have the best stories.
I can remember going from dealership to dealership test driving Daewoo's with the intention of cracking the windscreen, hard right hard left & it would crack, used to be the same with early Hyundai's too, Rj in Oz
I wonder if that one f1 driver for Aston Martin was lance stroll, cause if so it's still going straight into a wall. If Vettel, then its in safe hands.
Davy Morgan was one rider that dies at Isle of Man this year... 5 total deaths this year, which makes a total 265 competition deaths in the history of the Mountain Course. 16 other deaths that were non-competition that includes 5 race officials and 6 spectators. Insane race... this does not even include the numerous accidents that people did not die, but were seriously injured.
So I'm certainly not an expert but my expectation at high altitudes would be that the actual pressure inside the tire wouldn't change - X PSI is still X PSI - but that since the RELATIVE pressure compared to outside is higher, it might expand more. Or maybe just expand sideways? The weight of the car is still on it so I dunno if anything would change vertically?
The benefits of owning a race car (or hypercar) that they never take to the track is they can always bathe in the "it could do.." without ever having to try and do it, That would more often than not result in proving that whatever the car "could do"... the owner can't. So under used the cars often remain.

Street version of the Valkyrie is 1160hp. The track only Valkyrie AMR Pro that Matt eventually rides in does not have the electric powertrain and is 1000hp.
