Hemkund Sahib is a divine place. It is heaven on earth. I visited this place in August, 1994. Definitely would love to revisit in future. Valley of flowers is also very beautiful place.
Thats great to know that you had a wonderful time at Hemkund Sahib and the Valley. I am sure things in 1994 would've been even more serene and peaceful with lesser crowds and much more flora and fauna. Would love to see some pictures (if any) from that time.
Apologies Rewati for the late reply. Was on an expedition for 30 days. Just got back to coverage area few days back. I hope your trip went well and you are fine. Let me know if there's any other help you need. Regards
Nice video, i have visited Hemkund Sahib twice & the place is divine. This year i am planning to visit Valley of Flowers alongwith Hemkund Sahib in the month of August. My mother will also accompany me she is 64 years old. I just want to know about the weather conditions in the month of August. Do they allow mules/horses on Valley of flowers trek as my mother has some problems in her knees. Thanks in advance.
Hi, Thanks, I'm glad u liked the video. You would experience rains in the month of August. The roads don't stay in a good condition due to landslides. Yes there are mules available but then you'll only get them from Govindghat to Ghangria. Mules are not allowed in the Valley of Flowers since the time they have made it the UNESCO World Heritage Site. They have chopper service too from Govindghat to Ghangri if you want to do the 14km hike in a matter of few minutes. Hope this info helps.
Hello, Me and my father is planning to do it next year. My father is 64 years old but he got no physical problem.Do you think he can do this trek? Thanks in advance.Cheers.
Hi Prasanna, Thats good to know that you are planning to do this trek with your father. Yes he can absolutely do the trek provided he raises his fitness level a bit. The terrain can be challenging while on Valley of Flowers and Hemkund Sahib, depending on a person's fitness level. But why go unprepared ? Basic level fitness is good enough to do these treks.
Hi, This trek was done in August. It is the end of the season. The roads might be damaged due to excessive rains, but the status on them can only be found out with the locals in the area. The trek however is open and pretty safe
The video is awesome, gives a clear picture and idea about the trekking but the music is annoying. The places r so beautiful that no music is needed. Sometimes silence speaks better
