I don't understand why the people didn't like the NPCs of this game. I talked to everyone and did every quest because it was... Fun. I don't know, it just makes the world more lively.
Nah the Pixar style fits perfectly because is akin to Sonic's cartoon style and roots, that's why they fit so well together and funnily enough is impressive they managed to get it do so well that you can tell is inspired by Pixar but also being it's own thing instead of just being 'the Pixar humans' they kinda got their own identity
The human designs put me in a little dilemma in Unleashed. On one hand they look really good and fit the other Sonic character’s designs..cartoony and exaggerated. They fit the Sonic style and help the animal characters not look too out of place. On the other hand, Sonic and friends are apparently alien animal things. So the human designs also look a bit “alien,” compared to the contrast between the giant-handed noodle-limbed animals and the normally proportioned human in games like Adventure. But I still like the Unleashed humans too.
My favorite part of unleashed is the humans honestly. I loved the whole Lilli and Ramondo drama story, but if I had to choose who was the best npc it would have to be Ippolita I just love that little girl.
Sonic Unleashed feels like it took all the good points of NPCs in SA1 and 06 (individual stories, optional fetch quests etc.) and made them more cartoony and adjusted them in a way, that fits the world perfectly and makes everyone feel like living people. Throughout the campaign most of them have stories that go on in the background as you mentioned.
people just like to dislike things, man. i think Unleashed did a lot more right than wrong, the NPCs being a good example. they really added a lot of life to the world, and made it feel way more immersive. all their personalities and circumstances are unique, as well, so i found myself being slightly attached to and visiting a couple certain NPCs multiple times throughout my playthrough just to check in on them, and seeing that their dialogue changed rather frequently felt really rewarding for keeping up with them. its not a perfect game, such a concept doesnt exist, however people have a serious nitpicking problem when it comes to Sonic, and especially Sonic Unleashed. as a longtime diehard supporter of this game, i feel genuinely validated by this video. great work, mate, seriously also.... YOU CAN GO TO A HUB IN EGGMANLAND?!!??!?? SINCE WHEN !!!! i have NEVER SEEN THAT SHIT in all my years of playing this game. am i a moron??? i SWEAR i checked for a hub and it NEVER gave me the option, only ever chucked me into the stage... WHAT????
That guy who was like “I can cure you. Go beat these guys up.” And then says he needs more time to think. When you said “what a fucking idiot,” dude I died laughing 😂
I knew I wasn't the only one that noticed that Sega actually put a gay character in this game. Though it was subtle at first. The fact he was attracted to Sonic too. Damn, Sega was pretty bold with Sonic back in the 2000s. It's a shame that they had watered everything throughout most of the 2010s because of raging critics and toxic fans. It's a shame that due to the negative reception of Unleashed at the time nobody took a in depth look at the humans in this game. I'm glad you actually made this video taking a closer look at the humans in this game. They really help make this game really feel like a world adventure.
one detail that's especially cute about the option to accept amy's date, is that it may actually be the "canon" pick this time around. at the end of sonic and the black knight, it's implied that sonic might have actually agreed to a date with amy, and was even on his way to see her before being summoned by merlina. given that sonic and the black knight presumably happens sometime after unleashed, it's reasonable to suggest that their planned date may have actually been a follow-up to the one she asked about in unleashed.
Incredible video, this game is for sure the best Sonic game at the moment. I loved the story, the hedgehog and the wherehog. I did every npc mission and played every dlc. This game is really big and i dont know why people back in 2008 didnt like it. Congrats man and keep doin this content
Sonic unleashed's world and npcs were pretty interesting and its a shame neither aspect has reappeared since. I hope they go back to having humans in sonic games and that they are the same style as the unleashed humans. I didn't like how forces' world had animals instead of humans, the world being populated by animals does make sense, But humans just feel better for the sonic series imo
You do got a point, but that's only because the part of Sonic's world with animals are just the small parts they live on the planet (don't let the stage map fool you). They recently confirmed that humans are still on their world and they live in bigger countries (if you didn't know already). Hopefully it'll be possible that they can return to a similar Unleashed experience to where we can interact with them
I think the character designs are grotesque. They remind me of every human in Professor Layton that isn't a main character. I seem to be in the minority here, but I hate them.
Yeah right
npcs are crazy in sonic unleaeshed and in real life also npcs are weird but annoying though.
id ki just want to say real life npcs are worse than sonic unleashed's.
I don't understand why the people didn't like the NPCs of this game. I talked to everyone and did every quest because it was... Fun. I don't know, it just makes the world more lively.
It's true Iike talking to them
I'm pretty sure they didn't like how cartoony looking it was.
@@wargames-mb2gu ya maybe
@@wargames-mb2gu But the humans in this game blend in well with Sonic and his friends, since Sonic is meant to be cartoony.
@@piranhalettuce no
"Adontknow" and "Shoot me now." are literally the best quotes in this game
IMO they perfected Sonic's NPCs in this game, that's what they should be. It feels like a more polished version of the Adventure human characters
I agree! Not only do they look more like they belong in the Sonic universe, but they fit right in the whole cartoony but awesome look that Eggman has
They basically perfected Adventure’s foundation, just wish they were more anime stylized than Pixar

We should definitely stick to the anime humans since it’s the most consistent and makes sense
Sometimes they’re alien and sometimes they’re native. It depends on the iteration
Eggman actually fits in among these humans, so that's why I like em.
My favorite part of unleashed is the humans honestly. I loved the whole Lilli and Ramondo drama story, but if I had to choose who was the best npc it would have to be Ippolita I just love that little girl.
Bruh, as much as I fucking love every NPC in this game, I never realized how weird their dialogue was.

My favorites NPCs in this game are from spagonia
Natalia's family
My favorite substory in the game
im pretty sure at 7:29 shes asking if sonic wants a gem to get for his girlfriend.
Reading it again makes more sense '^^ didn't really see it like that for some reason
they made the XB2006 npc real accurate to its name
Silence you
I love the npc's on this game!
We used to scare Wentos on every playthrough with my siblings tho, the werehog's threats were really funny xD

I love Sonic unleashed. Also First
i legit thought the humans were avatars you could collect for the 360 dashboard lol.
this video is so good, I never knew any of this and found myself giggling the entire time, good work
Thank you! :)

My favorite npc is the girl from mazuri that marries the guy from shamar

🙏
Please do videos on the other 2 games w human NPCs this was awesome and hilarious 😂😂
Bro these people were built so damn different
Why they look so goofy
humans were just out of place imo, but at least they are only on the human continents
I think the character designs are grotesque. They remind me of every human in Professor Layton that isn't a main character. I seem to be in the minority here, but I hate them.
I never liked these humans tbh, they don’t fit Sonic imo
Loved the video, but I wish you mentioned that NPC in Chun-nan that mentions Shadow! ^-^
