An old timer up the road from me still has one of those, its tired but it is his daily driver, great gas milege, ,Those wire wheel hub caps, velour interior, still runs and drives good, The memories coming back, that one is done, thumbs up, great video
I had both those models. They were wonderful cars. I miss those well made cars of that era. Hello from Michigan. Love you're videos by the way. Be safe.
I remember back in '96 I wanted to buy a new Buick, looked at the Century which I thought was way too dated even for '96. (its roots came from like 1982 , along with Olds Cutlass Ciera) Splurged a lil an bought a Riviera instead much more cutting edge styling at the time.
Yup, 1988 model year with the VIN for the win: 1G4 for US made Buick, HR54 for LeSabre, C for 3.8L V6 with MFI, 5 is a check digit, J for the 1988 model year, H for Flint, MI assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Flint, MI Buick "home" plant operated from 1904 to 1999. Exterior paint is either code 11 or code 40 White. Yup, the 3.8L V6 was an easy engine to maintain and they ran forever and got great fuel mileage, you are correct. Yup, 1996 model year, and that's the last year for that "A" body Century. Everyone drove these from young people to everyone's uncle and grandmother. LOL. We got the VIN, we win: 1G4 for US made Buick, AG55 for Century, M for 3.1L V6 with MFI, 5 is a check digit, T for the 1996 model year, 6 for Oklahoma City, OK assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Oklahoma City, OK plant operated from 1979 to 2006. Possible code 51 Dark Toreador exterior paint.
My sisters and I all chipped in to get our father a 1958 DeSoto for his 85th birthday. It was just like his 1st car. And then I drove them to the yard where we all watched it get crushed. He didn’t care, he hated that car. My sisters are furious with me now.
Had four of these; you had to get the 3800 for the best engine. Hate to see them go, but G makin' Buick sandwiches ok by me. Death Row keep on keepin' it up!
Follow up on the 65 caddy passenger side mirror. It was a dealer add on and not factory installed. I Don't have a body code at the moment. When I get it I'll send it.
Those were the days seeing Those everywhere went it was new it last 2024 tell you Those good Cars was comfortable lot of leg room drive smooth the last buick was sad look It look like a fixing oh well to late crushing got it
I laugh every time you say how many bodies fit in the trunk because I think that.😂

I still see some of those Century’s and LeSabre’s on the road and running over here in Cobb County, Ga. Very durable cars.
Same here in Seattle.

Those rode great. Long trips 🥰 they floated down the road for a mid-size car..
7:37 - the front of that Buick looks very good! Very pretty!
