    They do offer liter sized bottles of the olaplex shampoo and conditioner. It's about $100 per bottle, however that is cheaper than buying the little sizes every few months. I personally am encouraged to see this video and am now super excited to use Olaplex on my next wash day. So often I see people use the olaplex system before straightening their hair. I haven't seen anyone really use it on healthy hair or keep their hair curly after using it.

    • @hijegeueu
      @hijegeueu Год назад +5

      I use it on my natural hair, and especially before I straighten it. I don't notice much of a difference when wearing it natural. There is a bit more shine and curl definition, but I think that's also due to no longer air drying. However for me it seems like I can really tell the difference when I straighten my hair. Then I can really tell it's shiny and stronger.

    I like Olaplex also. I've been using No. 0, 3, & 4P. Somewhere between bra strap and waist length, my coils started doing something funky from mid-shaft to ends. It wasn't breaking or anything but the coils were just different. My cousin is a stylist and she told me to start using Olaplex No. 3 at that time they didn't have No. 0. Sometimes I don't use No. 0, and I can't tell much of a difference. I've had a Mallen Streak since I was little and got my first grey hair at age 10. So the No. 4P keeps them looking bright and not yellow or brassy.

    I've only bought Olaplex 3 & 0 once and used it three times. The outcome on the first two uses was quite impressive although due to the elasticity it restores to the hair it definitely made my hair much tighter which made it a bit of a struggle to take the braids down after I washed my hair. My hair is 4b and quite long. I never use heat or combs in my hair, so in general it's not damaged, but I think it is high porosity. The take down was quite stressful due to the tightness which matted the braids I keep in every time I wash my hair. But once the braids were finally unravelled I felt a massive difference in the integrity of my hair strands, so I thought it was worth it. The second time I only left the products on for 10 minutes and used a moisturising cleanser and moisturising deep conditioner after the treatment. The take down was much easier and my hair felt great afterwards. However the 3rd time was hell and I feel like I won't buy it again and will explore alternatives. The 3rd time my hair was super matted and tangled and I experienced quite a lot of breakage. It was quite scary especially towards the ends of my strands and some weird dreaded knots near the roots. It took me hours to detangle and salvage as much as I could. But after a couple of days of more detangling and moisturising after my hair was dry it seemed that the integrity of my hair strands were restored and I experienced similar benefits to the first couple of times I used it. But I still had to give my ends a good trim and I don't plan to repurchase.
    It felt like I had severe protein overload, but for the past two years I have stopped using products with protein in between wash days. I would never use two protein rich products at the same time and I would never use it more than once every couple of months. I know Olaplex is not protein, but it has similar effects.
    So that's my experience. I would caution care wiyh this product for women with long type 4 hair as the longer the hair strands the more susceptibility to tangling when the hair shrinks up on itself, which is what Olaplex does when it restores the elasticity.

    • @BrittanyMia
      @BrittanyMia  Год назад

      Thanks for sharing your experience!! I like hearing how these products work for other people. Sorry to hear about your third experience, hope you didn’t have to trim too much.

    • @blacksunlight2618
      @blacksunlight2618 Год назад

      @@BrittanyMia thanks for your reply! Luckily I didn't have to do a big chop, but I did have to trim quite a lot, which was quite disappointing. The upside though, is that trimming always makes the hair grow back thicker and stronger, just because when there are more strands that are the same length overall the hair has more integrity. In this instance the added benefit from the olaplex treatment is that because it also works to strengthen the hair generally, it will mean more length retention when it grows back. So from now onwards I will just go for gentler protein treatments on wash day, that have strengthening, detangling and smoothing properties which makes it much easier to take down my braids. In the past I found the l'occitaine body and strength treatment to be excellent for this and the bonus is that it only has to be left on for 3 minutes. I can instantly feel the smoothing detangling effects as soon as it's applied. The other one that is also excellent is the original shea moisture hemp seed and mongongo oil high porosity mask, although this is not so easy to find nowadays. My hair is past my shoulders and the further away the strands grown from the scalp the more care one has to take with the lower ends to minimise breakage, tension and tangling. I'm always amazed when I see women with type 4 hair dragging combs, brushes, tangle teezers etc through the ends of their hair. My hair would just break off and die!
