Fascinating. I visited Doon Hill about 18 years ago with a friend who had an interest in fairies, but I don't remember visiting the church. It was a beautiful day, and I remember that Doon Hill did have a very "bewitching" atmosphere.

It lies on the Highland Boundary Fault that adds to the interest.

Excellent video. I visited there circa 1990-95 - my memory may be faulty but I have no recall of coins on his heid stane. What I *do* remember was walking towards Doonhill and before I reached it, a storm with wind and rain blew up in only minutes, was forced to turn back, drenched and cold.
You really must visit the Faery Glen behind Dunino Kirk in Fife. Esp the ancient heidstane with a Thor's hammer. At one time, there was a stone circle present, now destroyed. Its been sullied by Newagers defiling it but worth a trip nonetheless.

Thanks for the kind comment. The coins may well be a recent thing judging from older photographs

Roger have you visited Killin the path from the famous bridge in which was in the film The 39 Steps starring Kennith Moore . You go through the gate on the bridge and follow the path to the burial ground of the McKinnon Clan there chiefs . Inside an ancient church. Worth a visit maybe a vid
