5:55 that was the best for me! Sure this was detectival wasn’t it John? I HATE people that leave their crap in the hole justice was well and truly served!😊😊
Always love a trip down memory lane with some of the best of the best! Glad business is booming for you! I saw Marty post some recent finds better hurry back before he finds the hoard without you 😂
😳 I've watched every one of these videos before but your compilation of these just get the blood flowing again John!!!! Absolutely ingenious Sir!!! Enjoyed Immensely!!! Incredible Treasure and next to none!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
You really have had some amazing finds John. It’s been fun and educational too watching you search and discover them! Any news from the museum yet on some of your treasures?
Always a pleasure to rewatch these amazing finds. Everyone watching, keep in mind all of these required days and days of finding nothing. Patience and perseverance pays off!
Excellent John. Glad to hear you are busy mate and I am really looking forward to to your next detecting video. Not much to report from my own endeavours. Found my first Gorgeous George penny!!! 🤣🤣👍👍😉
Really enjoyed reliving all these finds again and remembering them all from the previous times I watched them great compilation John thanks for sharing 👌🏻👍🏻 that gold hammered from detectival always gets me thinking I wonder if the person who was stupid enough not to take their tin can away has seen the video and now knows that karma got them good for not taking their scrap and disposing of it properly 😂😂 thatsclass!!!
Thanks for still posting when you are busy, it's really appreciated. I always look forward to seeing what you are up to. Take good care and don't work too hard x
Thanks for sharing this summary of AWESOME finds from the fields of Perthshire. Blessings from this American enthusiast, from the great State of Tennessee.
Great to see you John, been ages! Or yt notifications not getting to me! 😢 Can't wait for you to be back on those beautiful fields of Perthshire! See you soon chez in Lliria Valencia Spain 😘 😘😘
Great compilation John, you have been blessed with some awesome finds, it's what detectorists dreams are made of. All the best to you for the future and thanks again for sharing your experiences with us. 30.2k subs well earned.
Wow! I love that you included some of the finds you discovered before using the XP Deus II. The first one was that great Bronze-Age axe head. That one still gives me goosebumps, what a great discovery! Your videos are always a treasure, thanks John!
Taikuu for another glimpse of those wonderful finds, love the Gold and the Silver coins, However for myself, I think the Bronze Ax head takes the cake.. If you ever come across a picture of one such as it that is attached to a handle, I would love to see it, I just can't figure out how one would be attached.
The lure of gold is strong but I found the extraordinary axe head the most exciting discovery. Surely it can't be all by itself there in that field! Here's hoping more really old treasures make themselves known. And many congrats on 30k!! 🥳 Here's to the next 30k - your channel is THAT enjoyable👍
Thank you so much Daniel and I’m so sorry it’s taken me so long to acknowledge!!! I only just realised I can select a column to see donations!!! Thanks so much
I really enjoyed this as I had missed your earlier finds.....I loved all your finds, but that axe head was amazing....would that it could talk, the stories it could tell! Thanks so much for sharing!
3:07 what a thrill watching the dig of that find! Never seen a thing like it! Persistence pays off... in GOLD! WHAT AN INSPIRATION! 7:31 That lie down! MAN! Sean Connery has nothing on you! Now I have to take a lie down. Sheesh
Those were really amazing finds. The Silver, so cool, looks like a divided up, cut, poured bar....one portion. Maybe the circles are punched measurement. Neato. ....and the beautifully shaped axehead, awesome
Big up buddy. I understand you can't get out ,as it's such a time consuming hobby. Great you can do some highlight edits ,to keep the algorithm going for your amazing sub count. Good stuff. Bless up 👊
WOW , how spooky is that , as i also found a palstave axe head a henry V quarter gold noble.ITS always a pleasure to watch your video,s . keep up the good work m8
Oh John what was you thinking with that tent …. Even I could do better than that and that is saying something … I’m so impressed with your best finds … they are incredible …the Bronze Age axe head omg!! I reckon your due a big find ….can’t wait to see what it will be … Keep them coming my Scottish friend …
Great group of finds! I am a bit surprised your "Bull" didn't make the list. Especially since I'm pretty sure that's the find that blew up your channel.
I love this channel, especially your wit and your inexhaustible wisdom surrounding most of the artefacts you find. I love the friendship you have with the other detectorists you frequently feature on your outings too but, I have to ask as a wanna-be participant in this amazing pastime, do you ever tire of it? I know your experience is tied up with the channel and that may be the driving force but, the editing magic that suggests finds are back-to-back aside, even with the excitement of finding Georgian and Roman coins, does it ever become routine? I enjoy flyfishing, searching for micrometeorites and a multitude of other quests, so I could imagine your answer since those too are difficult to justify to outsiders. In my country, South Africa, though, I doubt there will be many finds to sustain an interest. I don’t think I would particularly be into finding contemporary ‘treasure’ but would have the desire to find historically significant finds. The Anglo-Boer War sounds like it may offer some intrigue but finds by others seem lacklustre at best. I guess the bug has to bite, which it undoubtedly will, but I’m apprehensive the time investment will need to be significant. Advice?
Many thanks for the kind words and the support. I love the hobby as I love history and it’s a great way to learn. We’ve found some amazing stuff and I’ve got several of the guys into the hobby and tried to teach them the ways! Though with work and other commitments they’ve not been out with me in ages. As you’ve spotted it’s a rewarding hobby for me but it takes a huge amount of effort and editing to pull a video together. I doubt I’d find it quite as enjoyable if I didn’t find older stuff or if I didn’t find anything but the support from people like yourself drives me on!! Pulling together a video of 20 minutes or so often takes one or two or even three outings and lots of junk, so it’s a lot of effort and gives a false impression of how often the good finds come up, but from time to time I do a video of every target I dig just to show how much effort goes into it so people realise how hard I have to work for the finds. The chance there’s something of great age to find is what keeps me going for more and fingers crossed with the harvest coming there’s more to come!! Best wishes and see you on the next dig. And remember it doesn’t have to be an old find to be a great find
Well done on 30k subscribers, and thanks for sharing all those wonderful finds. As a coin collector, I'm super jealous of those hammered coins, but you deserve it, you worked hard for them.
Is there confirmation of the ages of the finds? I'd love to see a list with a description of each, when you have time (or maybe another commenter knows).
Spectacular finds! Excellent job. Do you have the dates of the coins & approximate age of the ingot? I adore history and the age of the objects you find is of great interest. I heard you say that the silver coin was Elizabethan, but I'd love to know if there was a date too. 😄
Hello, have been a subscriber for about 6 months...I live and detect in Nebraska, USA. Oldest funds here date to 1820s trade posts. This year I and the wife traveled to her native country of Spain and I detected their several days...dug a dozen hammered coins, relics, one Roman bronze and pottery. I was absolutely floored by the finds. I am also of Scottish heritage...my great granddad immigrated here from Edinburgh on the 1850s. One question....what settings do you use when you detect fields like in this video ? I usually set my XPDEUS 2 on fast program, or the relic one. Keep up the great videos !
Many thanks and glad you got some ancient finds in Europe! I usually go with programme 3 on my deus 2 and the 13” coil. I’ve tried a few custom programmes but tend to always migrate back to Sensi FT. Happy hunting, I’m heading out today on the newly harvested fields 🤩
@@thescottishdetectorist thanks for taking time to reply, will try the sensitive full tone program , give it a try... Good luck at the harvested field friend !
One of the first in! Not being able to fall asleep in British Columbia has paid off. Congrats again on your success, John. As someone who has watched you from almost the start, it is very well deserved! Didn’t you say last time that Fletch had emigrated to Canada? What area?
I get really really excited finding a bronze age flint tool, knife or blade arrowhead etc. That bronze axe is just beautiful. The hammered coins are fantastic too. Need to know more about the ingots pleaseeee.
Well done! I'd love to hear what the museum has to say about those finds later. Congratulations on your success!
I would too!
The person who missed that gold hammered will be kicking themselves 😅
5:55 that was the best for me! Sure this was detectival wasn’t it John? I HATE people that leave their crap in the hole justice was well and truly served!😊😊
❤ to Inverness. That silver ingot will always be one of my favourite finds of yours. Would love to know how old it is.
You finding your first gold coin is the best! Such raw and true excitement.

Wowza, John! Such exceptional finds, but the alteration to the pup tent was hilarious!
Many thanks. Ahh, the tent 🏕 I still get nightmares and flash backs haha 😂
Always love a trip down memory lane with some of the best of the best! Glad business is booming for you! I saw Marty post some recent finds better hurry back before he finds the hoard without you 😂

Yes, if the gold noble person saw that video it must have been awful!! But their loss is my gain! Glad you enjoyed
Thanks for still posting when you are busy, it's really appreciated. I always look forward to seeing what you are up to.

Awesome! The ingot looks like it has a map on it, the star thing looks like a compass rose or a representation of the North Star, maybe?
Awesome thanks
Must be the best day ever metaldetecting, crongrats mate. Cheers from Denmark
Cool finds John.
Did you ever find out what the markings on the silver ingot are? Look almost like they could represent celestial/'heavenly' bodies.

Stellar finds! Have you yet any info on that ingot?
Wow very impressive for sure.
Did we ever discover the lineage of that beautiful silver bar? That was incredible.
Hello John. Watching from Texas USA. Do you get to keep all your finds?
Many thanks 🇺🇸 anything over 100yrs old has to be reported to the museum and if they claim it they pay it’s market value
One of the first in! Not being able to fall asleep in British Columbia has paid off. Congrats again on your success, John. As someone who has watched you from almost the start, it is very well deserved! Didn’t you say last time that Fletch had emigrated to Canada? What area?

Absolutely!! Never dismiss anything!!
did the folks at the museum provide you with any more information on the axe?
