Thank you for this video sir. I was feeling overwhelmed coming from a simple tube amp with pedals....but now I feel like maybe I can figure this thing out. Hope to use it on gigs this weekend.
Thank you so much for these tutorials. I just got my Kemper Stage this week and this was super helpful. The Rig Manager beta is out now and it makes editing a breeze. Cheers!
I know I'm late in the game but I gotta say thank you, you have helped lots mate :) Trying to get my White Falcon Gretsch to respond properly or the way I want it to I should say wasn't easy and your tips actually helped heaps :)
I like the way you explain it 👍, One minis point, is the angle of your camera, sometime is your hand in front off the buttons e nops,en screen, Its maybe better with e small stick or something.
Thank you Patrick. I’m still working on the camera angles for the pedals. I am hoping to get a higher quality camera as some of these pedals have small screens that are hard to see. Thanks for the feedback!
great. very helpful, thanks! The Rig Manager app really helps (although the interface is a bit 'Nuclear Power Station' graphically) and I intend having it open on a mic mounted iPad at the festival gigs. Cheers!
Thank you for the amazing videos can you please make a video on how to make a profile with the kemper stage step-by-step we really need that thank you so much God bless
How different people are - 99% of the time I like my solo boost to come from an ( or another ) overdrive pedal that I kick in, even when using some hyperclean amp like a Fender, to simulate the power section tubes being hit harder. You could also, and this I found to be the most elegant solution, morph your tone to the same rig with a higher rig volume if you don't want to use another drive pedal, which essentially frees up the whole booster signal chain space. The pure boost, in itself being the most useful for clean tones in my opinion, easily takes away space from quite a few effects you'd normally like to have in those 4 available blocks post-amp when going for a clean tone ( mainly chorus, two delays, reverb, tremolo and equalizer, but you could also think about things like shimmer or phaser ), so it's nice to save some space in this fought-over area by handling the boost 'elsewhere'. But you said this wasn't for complete beginners working with the Kemper, so it makes sense to leave morph out of it. Just spending a lazy saturday trying to get the Kemper to do different things and watching videos on it - yours is one of the very best I came across, as evidenced by your immaculate upvote ratio. Thank you very much for recording and uploading the video!
Thanks I learned a lot from you. Your tutorial are easy to understand. Can you do video on expression pedal with Kemper stage please more toward volume and wah combo
It's an old video, but I hope someone could give me an answer. While in the video Aaron explains that you can put anything in the slots marked x mod rev dly, what about the abcd? Can I put delays and reverbs there as well?
I believe that the morph functions only work with continuous controls and not on/off switches like the freeze. You can assign the freeze to an external foot-switch or MIDI command though.
Brother i need your help PRONTO pls. i just got the Kemper Stage and i remember seeing like the vai wah and other pedals like different types of chorus and other effects man i have no idea where they go i think i erase them by accident please please please HElp
Did you buy it used? I once wiped my Kemper and lost all of my profiles and effects presets. If you use the rig manager everything is in there for default content 7.0 and can be loaded back onto the Kemper again.
I think this is direct to my studio monitors but I usually use a QSC K8.2 or 10.2. I would like to try the new Kemper Kab as I do like the amp in the room feel.
Aaron I never use reverb I’m a real amp. It’s not even there. A Friedman smallbox limited. Don’t miss it. You can live without it if you had to. Too many guitarists overuse it and other modulation FX. FYI soon you’ll T-shirt will say Reverb/Etsy.
Seems Kemper rushed this thing out. The screen is from the 90's lol and the effects not very good imo. I tried one of these and a Helix and wound up buying a Boss TAE and using my tube amp heads. The real deal is still king of the world......ymmv
Agree that you cannot beat the real thing but sometimes we need a portable all in one solution for live/recording/travel and the Kemper gets close enough for me!
@@aaronshortmusic yep I understand that. Kemper could make it a bit more user friendly like the Helix. Not sure why they have no editor yet either. That seems pretty silly in this day and age. I would pick the Kemper over the helix for amp tones and Helix over Kemper for everything else.
R.L Lynch I agree. I don’t use many effects so the amp tones are very important. The editor is coming soon. They basically released this product in Beta but I think it will be worth it in a few months.
R.L Lynch the kemper screen is too small and hard to read. However, it’s still sounds better than the Helix. Both need help with real life pedals. I’m only using it thru a regular guitar cab. Tube amps can’t be beat and in the way in which they take dirt, fuzz or OD pedals. If you worked your way up to a Friedman amp do you really think this is better? No, but for gigging yes. There’s a feel n sound missing. Yamaha 100hd ftw. the modelers. I’m sure in a studio setting these kempers sound great though. With all the hi tech help.
And years later Mooer is eating Kemper's lunch with profiling devices that cost only in the hundreds (i.e. MOOER PreAMP Live on Amazon), yet they continue on the same outdated and over-priced, greed driven path!
Thanks Aaron. Using this unit for praise and worship at church and your tips and tricks post has been so helpful. Thanks again for your time man!
You’re welcome Jon!
That looper tip is FANTASTIC. Thanks so so much for that one.
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching!

The guys at Guitar Center won't know what hit em once I dial in some sweet tones.

There is an iPad and iPhone app now for the Stage!
Another Great Tutorial! Amazing Rig! Thanks!
Thanks James!
Very informative on the effects
You’re welcome.
Wonderful demonstration!
Hi great video it is possible to do a preset without amps just pedals on the Kemper Stage please let me know thanks 🙏
Yes just turn the amp and cab off.
Your vids are very helpful! Thank You!

Thank YOU for the kind words!
Hi there great video. What about adding external effects? Could you please cover that aspect please.
Hi, great idea. I’ll try to include that in a future video!
I have a dumb question, why are there 4 lights by each effect stomp? What are the other three lights used for?
Hi l need your help,When we connect two power amps to the main output, how do we balance the stereo volume through the stage?
Use the output volume and set the two power amps to the same level (if they have a level control on them).
Great videos. I hope you keep sharing once you discover cool "hidden" stuff...
Thank you. If I find any secrets I will share them on my channel!
Link for the manual? The only thing I see on the website is the same one that comes in the box
Look for ‘manual for all profilers’.
Thanks I learned a lot from you. Your tutorial are easy to understand. Can you do video on expression pedal with Kemper stage please more toward volume and wah combo
Sure. It’s on my list and will be coming soon.
Very very helpful! Hope you’ll record part 3 as well ;)
Thank you! What else would you like me to cover?
Can I make one switch do multiple functions? for example, turn on delay, turn on volume boost, turn on drive pedal and turn off reverb?
I’m not sure but maybe someone else can answer…
Is it possible to change patch in looper mode?
It's an old video, but I hope someone could give me an answer. While in the video Aaron explains that you can put anything in the slots marked x mod rev dly, what about the abcd? Can I put delays and reverbs there as well?
Yes you can.
Do you know how to get the white led to come on when you activate the effect?
It depends on the effect.
I tried another effect and it didn’t light up. But if I use the same effect on button 3 or 4 it works. Doesn’t work for 1 and 2
can you plz tell how to set the tap tempo that works same for everyone
There’s a dedicated tap tempo footswitch on the pedal.
@@aaronshortmusic i know that but my question is how to make it a global tap tempo.
@@therockridersband Ah I’m not sure without looking. I only use one performance for everything.
Is there a way to set an FX button to be momentary?
Not at this time but you can set the morph mode to be momentary.
Thanks again. Keep going. ‘Shoe Gazers’,,😎
Can you connect the "Freeze" option to the "morph" mode?
I believe that the morph functions only work with continuous controls and not on/off switches like the freeze. You can assign the freeze to an external foot-switch or MIDI command though.

John Rodriguez There you go. Use rig manager to put back the rigs and effect presets.
@@aaronshortmusic I did but I still don't see the Vai wah and other effects 😭😭😭😭😭
John Rodriguez The effects are there as presets.
hi man.. what speakers did you used with this kemper stage?
I think this is direct to my studio monitors but I usually use a QSC K8.2 or 10.2. I would like to try the new Kemper Kab as I do like the amp in the room feel.
Aaron Short Music do you recomend that kemper stage overall? 🙏🏻 kemper stage and kemper rack or head are the same sound and tone quality?
Aaron I never use reverb I’m a real amp. It’s not even there. A Friedman smallbox limited. Don’t miss it. You can live without it if you had to. Too many guitarists overuse it and other modulation FX. FYI soon you’ll T-shirt will say Reverb/Etsy.
I agree. The basic amp tone is EVERYTHING. Effects are just icing on the cake. No Etsy for me thanks! Lol
Would like better if you demonstrated playing. All this talk means nothing to someone thinking about getting one. Cool? Then demonstrate
I agree. There’s definitely a balance between talking and showing.
