Louisville hit an all time record of -22 and Shelbyville hit the state's all time record low of -37. I had just moved back here from Wisconsin that fall and felt like I brought the Wisconsin weather with me. I had just turned 17 and we were out of school for at least a week. I couldn't believe how poorly they dealt with the roads. Up in Wisconsin you might have gotten a day off. Just Monday, Feb 15, 2021 we were supposed to get up to a foot of snow, only got 3 inches tops.
We had heavy freezing rain/sleet for hours here in SE KY then a foot of snow on top of that, widespread power outages! I was 11 years old and remember that beast of a storm! Thanks for the video!
It was -10 below for a week in Lex Ky. University of Ky actually called off classes. I was 22 and got drunk as a monkey at the two keys tavern and did head first slides down Uclid Avenue on the inch thick ice.
I remember this. School was closed. -22 and my bed was next to a window. Had a heavy blanket over it and still felt the chill pouring into my room. The windows were new, too!
I remember this storm very well in WV, picked up about 14 inches. It was very memorable. That was a real Winter unlike the ones we have now, especially the one that is about to end right now.
I definitely remember this. In my city in North Central Ohio, the temperature dropped to -25 on Wednesday morning. I had been up late the night before as we had a frozen water pipe and I had to get it unthawed. I called off from work in the morning to rest and wait for it to warm up a little bit so the car would start. I got it started in the afternoon. It has always worried me when we get bitter cold weather ( I lived through the brutal winter of 1976-77).
I was in Ashland city tn and was in 1st grade. I got chicken pox during the storm so i didn't even get to enjoy sick day from school 😏. Bad part is my dad hadn't had pox yet and i gave them to him and he was 10x worse than me no joke! 😂
This was when I was born, my mom said she almost didn’t make it to the hospital. Born Jan 17th, 1994
Blue on the radar is bad but it's the pink that scares me. Ice storms are horrific.

My daughter's second birthday. I told her dad to go get her cake the night before. Did he do it? Nope.
Just realized that Jan. 17, 1994 was the date of the infamous Northridge, CA earthquake

The storm caused a state of emergency for Ky and literally no one could come in or go out of the state! I-75 was shut down
You should make one about the recent Texas Snowstorm back in February
Meanwhile, L.A. had a 6.5 earthquake on the morning of the 17th. January 19th was the coldest morning!
Crazy to see Southern Ohio getting that much snow. It all just goes around us now 💀 Texas has been getting more snow than us recently.
I was a freshman at UK when that hit

Make one about the blizzard of 1993, which had occurred 10 months earlier.

There was a blizzard that eastern KY in February, 1985. Parts of the Jellico Plateau received 300 cm of snow and there were 10 m drifts.
We had 14 days without electricity but had a floor furnice and some coal oil lamps and a cooler in the ice.
I remember this. I was a junior in high school. We missed 2 weeks of school!
