I loved The Poisons We Drink. It was scary how much the politics around the Witchers felt like it could be real politics in today's society. Venus is messy and imperfect as a character. The way that is often written annoys me, but Venus didn't annoy me. This felt like a different take on a magic imperfect girl and the imperfect people around her. I read it a few months ago, so I can't say that I remember all the details about the magic and the world, but I don't feel like I am missing anything by not remembering those details. I hope when you pick it up again, it works better for you. I am so excited for the Leslie Penelope book!
Oh I need to get back to the Gentleman Bastards series. I loved the Lies of Locke Lamora. Just got The Poisons We Drink from the library but I don't know when I'll get to it.
