    That's so Funny yesterday on your Live Stream You said you didn't want your two Boys becoming a Truck Driver. My Farther was a Engineer on the Railroad now Retired and samething He didn't want Me to work on the Railroad. Instead I worked for Harley Davidson for 24yrs until I broke my neck anyway I see what you mean. I still wish I had worked for the Railroad instead But I did Love my job working for Harley Davidson...

      I spend several years with the MILW (Milwaukee Road) during the last bankruptcy. Loved the job, weird having Tuesday/Wednesdays off. For all of the problems dating, living a 'normal' life, well trying to anyway, 2nd/3rd shift has its drawbacks, I'd do it again in a heartbeat...

      @@thomasboese3793 Are You still working on the Railroad or You retired the CP Railroad ownes the Milwaukee Road seems like everything CP and CN buy they end up destroying the Railroads. SAD to see what's happening with all theses Short Line Railroads a lot of them were money makers and some were not still sad.

      @@kennyspry5189 Left the MILW when CP/SOO shut down the shops in Milwaukee, WI. Had been offered a job somewhere else, but, I was married and she refused to move. It's sad what CN has done to the WC. All CN wanted was a way from the Twin Cities to Chicago in order to get to the merged IC. They had tried to merge with BNSF, but that flew like a lead balloon. RIP WC!
      The bean counters are in absolute control. They don't care about the employees or the customers; all they want at the end of the day is a bigger balance sheet.

    Great catch of the CN TRAIN w the BLUE locomotive heading it up. I'm glad to see you've got CN mixed in w the ELS videos. I'm a BIG FAN of CN and would love to see more especially from that railyard. Thanks again for sharing your videos with us along with your time and effort getting the best footage!

    I really find it so amazing how CN is everywhere. I thought whenever I was in Middle Village Queens and saw CN head end power parked in the freight yard was rare, found out it's not, and even see there power stuck in the middle of the local power on the LIRR.👍👍👍

    • @thomasboese3793
      @thomasboese3793 2 года назад +1

      Power-sharing. long-distance trains no longer swap power when hot thru trains interchange railroads. Between that and the mergers, it's getting to be any loco on any road at any time.

    • @ThumperKJFK

      @@thomasboese3793 Thank you for the info Thomas. I kind of was thinking of that. It makes good sense, saves time on all the work and things that have to be done once you cut a loco off. Never the less. It sure makes it so cool as watching other power go through your town. Again, Thank you.

    @ 5:55, the 8th freight car out, NOKL 819093 looks to be an ex-CNW hopper. On the fifth panel, you can just catch the last remnant of the ‘Employee Owned’ banner. Good catch. Photographers probably wanted the ex-IC engine that was leading…. The Canadian Grain hopper (first freight car) leading of the first train are becoming more & more rare. They’re starting to ‘age out’ & are being scrapped…

    What you just saw is CN's Papa Smurf unit on that manifest. It's the only unit of its type because it was an experimental paint scheme CN was trying when they merged IC into themselves. It's got some age to it now and I'm really surprised CN hasn't tried to butcher it into their scheme color combination.

    • @HyperActive7
      @HyperActive7 2 года назад +1

      @@illinois_rails That too, and I do remember the LMS leasing units which were the CITIRAIL units of their day. I always have found it to be interesting how CN never repainted this unit and instead stuck an IC emblem on the side of it even though IC never purchased any comfort widecab units in their time.

    There are some of us out here, that enjoy counting railcars. When you zoom in and out, it makes it very difficult to do so. Also, like in this video, I was just about to the end of the train, when your ass decided to go to the other side of the bridge. I don't needd to subscribe to another channel, tthat has no consideration, for its viewers.
