This is so much better than the movie or anime, Gohan being forced to hold off Frieza while at the same time having to amass enough energy that Goku and vegeta can feel it on Beerus’ planet is genius and the fact that he only goes ultimate briefly in a last attempt to fight frieza or get through to Goku is a fantastic finale

Gohan should not have been that rusty. We know he also didn't fight from end of cell games to starting of Buu saga and that was 5 years timeskip. But still that gohan was better than this track suit Gohan.

@@kamekid9786 yeah but there's something that showed up in dragon ball super ( probably couple of years after ) Gohan got cocky once again his development was supposed to be about how he was going to find a way to erase his arrogance that he had even all the way back in Cell Games and yet super didn't care enough about the character to show us the emotional journey they just had Piccolo and Gohan train off screen and boom somehow Piccolo found a quick and easy way to " develop " his character instead of showing us development through struggle also even if it wasn't intended and it was probably intended that Gohan didn't have enough power to use Mystic you could say ( in a head canon type of way ) in this video Gohan was overconfident enough not to use his Mystic form from the start and finish the job he just fought in ssj2 to torture Frieza ( because Mystic doesn't waste energy and isn't triggered by rage it's less likely that he couldn't transform because he didn't have enough energy but instead was too damaged and wounded ) Frieza manipulated him into using only his ssj2 form holding back in his 3rd form to give Gohan confidence in the beam struggle and then damage him enough in his 50% form so Gohan wouldn't to be able to use the Mystic form in that condition anymore sorry if it's too long

He also didn't know about the ToP until Goku brought him to the exhibition match at which point he was already stronger than during RoF.

Absolutely LOVED the way 0:10 to 0:19 was done! The way he stumbles back really shows how much pain he's in. Super did this fairly well in episode 23, but I would've loved if they actually fought like this before Goku and Vegeta arrived.

Awesome job! That is definitely what should've happened. Ssj2 Gohan was perfect for the set up when he faced 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. Noice overall.
Watching this really made me fell like there was so much missed potential in gohan. He could have been so much more than just nostalgia fuel.
