Civil engineer here...architects sometimes hate civ-e's for telling them what they can't do. Nice to hear someone appreciating architects and engineers working hand-in-hand. Love this content by the way. Definitely my favorite asmr channel on youtube.

I live on the Isle of Skye, in Scotland. Can confirm very beautiful little part of the world, but definitely has its cons. Can be pretty isolated, lacks any sort of immediate health care and the it rains about 43 weeks of the year lol.

I don’t know why Revit has a bad rep, you can do the same in the mass family editor and Dynamo, than what you can do in Rhino… plus all extra analysis you can do for all S, & MEP disciplines
I do believe in aliens as well… As a matter of fact I’ve seen materialize and dematerialize an UAP out of thin air… Plus some other phenomena that I ‘ve experienced
You should listen to Carl Sagan’s “Pale Blue Dot”. Also I think you would like watching his Cosmos series.

I also love concrete structures. Im a railroad freak and Im absolutely amazed by the Tunkhannock viaduct In Pennsylvania you should check it out. When it was built it was the largest concrete structure in the world.

Brutalism and Zumthor, right on! Can't say I was expecting that when I first asked the question. Leftfield recommendation: I think you'd really enjoy the film Columbus (2017) starring John Cho and Haley Lu Richardson, set in Columbus, Indiana, a lesser-known center of architecture and public artworks. A really beautiful and tender film! (Also shout out to a fellow statistics nerd!)

@@commadoziret3951 i've had to deal with some architects who don't know how gravity works, and when I have to consult with them saying that their design needs redesigning, they whine about it.
@madlad3192 oh I see mist be Hella frustrating then litterly designing impossible things
@@commadoziret3951 exactly, there’s times where i’ve had no option but remove some aspects of their design because there has been physically no way to structurally support it.
I definitely can understand where you’re coming from! I think that all architects should study/work alongside general contractors and civil/structural engineers. It would make life a lot easier for everyone 😅

❤...that's so awesome. I am 3 years older. We are different people from different places, I can tell you that. Also here in the United States. But it is cool because I'd like to learn something new. And I feel like I am a person who got things naturally. While people are working hard whether they like it or not. I am more of a spiritual person where I'm always suspicious. 😂.

I'm sorry bit brutality was absolutely NOT a good look, of course subjective but I would argue most DO NOT like brutality buildings. Now, concrete is great, but not in the brutality style.

Some brutalism is… but Tadao Ando’s work, for example, is the exact opposite. Much of his work is enlightening.

Brutalism architecture is terribly disgusting. Tasteless colors, disharmonious cubes and forms everywhere… It’s representative of our modern society : an endless void.
It’s profoundly ugly and it’s making a lot of people deeply depressed on a daily basis.
Architects should start to make beautiful things again, like our ancestors did with the multitude of classical architecture we made in the past…
