    Thanks for posting this video. I'm about to tackle this on my Civic. Could you please let me know which torque wrench you used to torque the bolts to 7 ft lbs? I'm looking to purchase a small torque wrench anyways as my regular ones absolutely will not fit in this space. Appreciate any insight.

      It was a 3/8 drive torque wrench.

    What is the part number?

    Got the same issue on my 2013 Civic. What’s the best way to tackle this job? Raise the front end, install jack stands and take off the passenger front tire?
    Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

      Yes that’s the way to do it.

    Also virtually the same for 8th gens (2006-2011) with the R18

    I assume you have to drain the oil before you perform this work?

      I was wondering this as well. This cover is above the oil pan so maybe not. Still waiting on a definitive answer before I tear into this.

      @@davidbrown3184 I did this job yesterday and did NOT spill any oil at all. I put the pan just in case but it was unnecessary. I will post a complete video I did pretty soon. It is a very tight space.

    You should show the location of the cover. I can't tell where it's located.

      It’s on back of engine facing the firewall.

      You have to remove the passenger's front wheel and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. Then you can see the plate if you look at the back of the engine. I will post a video about it pretty soon and let you know.

    I have a 2014 Civic 1.8L LX and I think I have a leak in this area. I have black debris buildup around this plate and on my intermediate CV shaft. But, i also have oil buildup on the plate itself, where all of the grooves are.
    Did you put the hondabond on the cover plate or the engine surface, and did you essentially follow the same pattern of the red color on original?

    • @perrydoran
      @perrydoran  Год назад

      I put it on the cover plate. Yes I followed the same pattern.

      I put the hondabond on the plate as well since there is no way you can actually put it on the engine matting surface.... not enough space to wiggle it.
      I had to practice how to slide the plate in with the hondabond so I don't touch other surfaces. And once you have it in place you have to quickly put two screws at least to keep it in that position. It is quite some work... and to say that space it tight is an understatement 🙂

      @@gotitdone Also looks like I'll have to do this, I was just under the car taking a look at how this would be done....this is tight. Did you remove the CV axle and intermediate shaft to have more access? I don't see how it's possible I do this from underneath

    • @gotitdone
      @gotitdone 9 месяцев назад

      @@Billy-zo9bk I didn’t remove anything. I have small hands and was able to wiggle my way through but oh my God, this is really tight and you need a ton of patience to remove those nuts. I wonder how much the stealership would charge you for this job.

    Do you remember how that connector comes off? Keep trying and can’t get it

    • @perrydoran
      @perrydoran  Год назад

      Wiggle with some pliers. Don’t be afraid to get rough with it… the rust will stick it on there good.

    • @gotitdone
      @gotitdone 9 месяцев назад

      I had to fight with this connector as well. It is tricky. If you slide your finger at the top you will feel the release tab which is the opposite as you would think. Usually you would push those tabs IN while pulling the connector out. This one is the opposite. Pull out that tab and use a flat screwdriver to push the connector out. Hope this helps. I will post a video about this job that I did yesterday.
