I have had the honor of seeing both Paul McCartney and Coldplay in concerts. I've got to say that while "Hey Jude" pulls a big unity, Coldplay's whole concerts (I've been to two thus far) have such a unifying vibe about them. They use their synchronizing wristbands that make you feel as though every person there is a vital part of the show. It's absolutely magical to see the lights and just the heart that goes into every concert with those guys. Paul McCartney is a legend, but Coldplay's concerts are so much more inspiring to go to than anyone else I've ever seen.
My dad left this world in the middle of the night in October of 2016, I was 24 at the time. He was one of the liveliest people you would ever meet and by far the greatest man I ever knew. He was my rock, he was always present and there for me (especially when my mom was out of the picture in my adolesnce) and I attribute so much of the man I have become now to his wisdom, strength, kindness, and deceny. I remember waking up that day just feeling empty, knowing that every day in my life would be defined as everything before and after that moment... There was this little park behind my high school that had a small lake and a dock that I would always go to growing up that was a place of refuge for me, where I would go to be alone and to find peace. I went to that dock that night at sunset listening to this song, and looked at the sky, and the massive storm clouds opened up across the sky as the sun pierced through them and intensly lit up the sky, as if the heavens themselves were opening up to tell me that they received my father, and he made it to his eternal home. Every time I hear this song, it brings me back to that exact moment in time
I can feel you so much. I miss my passed loved daddy too. Dont know how can move on cause Im feeling like my life is empty since he left. I still have a millions things that I want him to know
This live version just gives me chills everytime because the meaning of the song in of it self is powerful but then you mix it with a traumatic event and the song carry’s a whole other meaning
This is why I love coldplay,,they do not sing about drugs, sex, money,,they sing about love and togetherness. If you go to their concert you will truly feel the togetherness.Chris is so humble especially as the frontman, and of course he is talented.Guy is quiet, but when he gets that bass magic happens.Jonny and the guitar=no words needed you already know. And of course the legend Will Champion,,,not only is he one of the lead backup vocalists, this guy is a drummer, a legend.Anyone who likes coldplay knows do not mess with Will.Anyways i just love coldplay and how they stand for togethereness and love.
Isn't it crazy what music does to people? Music unites us, makes us cry, makes us smile, makes us light up inside, gives us goosebumps and that's what makes it so incredible. Also, look closely at Coldplay's song choices. First, they played Don't Look Back In Anger, because you can't keep reliving the past and let hate win, you can only fight hate with love. After that, they played Fix You, because we will be fixed. The peace can be restored as long as we will fight for it and try to fix each other. Lastly, they played Viva La Vida as a tribute to life. Live your life while you can because it is beautiful and full of chances! As Chris would say, lights will guide you home and ignite your bones, and love will fix you. Manchester and this world will be ok, because love will win.
Jade I already was crying, but your comment made me cry even more. It's so true. I love music for this. Music is an universal thing and I love it. The whole world can sing along to an song, cry and love together.
There should be a One Love Movement. Many concerts around the world to raise money for people in need and to unite people and remind them of the power of love. In these times of darkness this is what we need. Who agrees?
I love how all the colors of confetti came out separately, but they all merged together. It's like people. No matter where we came from, what we look like, what we believe in, or who we love, we are all one. One Love.
In the original recording, Chris Martin sounds as if he is singing to one individual person like you or me. Here though, it seems as if he is wishing to fix the entire world; as if he knows how filled with sickness, anger, and darkness it is. Yet he loves all the mistakes and with the help of all of the people singing with him in the audience and the thousands who watch this video at home, he will try to fix it. I absolutely love this performance!
Hannah Clemenson it sounds like he's so trying to connect and be at one with everyone in the audience. He wasn't just singing he was connecting. I can't explain it properly what I mean lol
When I sing along to the chorus I hope it will eventually bring my oldest son home. He's 21 and I haven't seen him in a long time. I hope one day I will get the chance to help fix him 💔
I was a single pregnant mom 15 years ago. When my son was born, I remember sitting in the nursery, and this song came on. I sobbed while holding him and singing this to him. The very first song he heard.....
Coldplay just performed the most appropriated song for the concert with Don't Look Back In Anger. They've sent a real support message to Manchester Attack's victims trough this fabulous song. Good job Chris.
Goto Hellm8 another song that I found appropriate for the moment was Don't Dream It's Over. But all of the songs in the show, being cheerful or not, had the purpose of uniting the crowd, so as all of the world, against the horror that it's happening nowadays. Cause that's the purpose of music, after all ❤
To be fair, Don't Look Back In Anger definitely was "appropriated" for the message of the concert. Aside from the title, the actual lyrics have absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with unity, solidarity or love trumping hate.
Because he really feels it. He's passionate when doing things. As a musician, this is for me what pure sounds and art represent. Things must be done with powerful love, sincerity and humility. If not, why doing them? Not only Coldplay members do that, there are more people, but God... Chris Martin is simply unique... He truly does things being authentic. Just being HIM.
This is what celebrities have the power to do. It was beautiful and I hope to see more of them acting like this because they really can bring us together.
Patinho No, I do think it made a difference. It made people feel strong. It made people unite. It made every person there merge into a single heartbeat. Maybe it didn't stop terrorists from killing people, no, but it mended broken hearts and broken people and that does make a difference.
Hey you. Scrolling down while hearing the song . Know my friend that all will be ok. And you are so valuable. Whatever this moment is, it will pass. Love you
@@jynxcrude2879 I suppose the first step was always to come out in a forum where people don't know you, just so you could get to experience how it felt to come out of the closet. Do your parents know yet?
I went to one about a year ago, it was simply amazing. It's definitely something you'll never forget. The passion, the love, and the energy could bring tears to ones eyes.
Well, personally i can't even count how many time i've watched this astonishing performance but the only thing i know is that i always smile and emotional at the exact same time while watching this .
Chris kneeling down while singing Fix You with the crowd singing along and the huge "One Love Manchester" screen behind is one of the most beautiful thing on earth. Thank you, Coldplay.
Every time Coldplay performs I feel like I'm on a cloud. There music so readily touches hearts. It's euphoric, it's nostalgic, it's a blessing. I'm always going to love this band from the bottom of my heart. Such a loving expression towards Manchester. My love goes out to all the friends and those that lost something or someone.
Josh Same!! I haven't seen them live yet, but my parent have multiple times and every time, they come back buzzing from the amazing atmosphere of Coldplay concerts!!!
Well said. I saw them last Summer, 2016, in Stockholm. It was truly uplifting and magic. You go smiling for a couple of weeks after the concert and still whenever I hear some of their songs played in stores, I just start moving with a huge smile on my face. Do see them live!
One of the best concerts I have ever seen ... Coldplay at the Gorge in Eastern Washington in the U.S. Some people will say they are lame but Chris Martin's exuberance and joy when the band performs is unsurpassed. It was captured in a 60 Minutes segment that I have watched over, and over, and over. The power of music, indeed.
Yeh that's great. I saw them in Santa Clara at Levi Stadium. They had Alessia Cara open for them on their AHFOD tour. One of the best concerts I've been to in my life. I want to see them again.
I came here after watching BTS on Mtv unplugged. Their cover of "Fix You" is amazing , they've definitely given justice to the song & added they're own personal touch. Thanks Cold play for appreciating our boys and for allowing them to cover your song. Also this is definitely one of my fav cold play songs. For non-fans give it a try and listen to BTS they have so many good songs with beautiful messages. Thank you.
I don't want to sound like a dick here but....just to see what all the fuss is all about me and my mates read their lyrics and it's not as great as people make it out to be. Like it's good if you're maybe a teenager who's crush turned you down. But not as sophisticated as people say.
@@muizzkazi5432 @mouuzse You clearly haven't listened to their music properly All these stereotypes about only teens are supporting them and besides what's wrong if you're a teenager supporting a group that you like? Even The Beatles had teens screaming for them. You'd be surprised to know a lot of BTS fans inc myself are actually in this age group late 20's to early 30's. A group who had supported a lot of charities promotes self love, anti bullying and a whole lot of positive causes. I suggest to watch this vid a bit of introduction to them if you don't want its okay. Thank you. ruclips.net/video/3cESARetI9U/видео.html
whenever he says “lights will guide you home” breaks my heart just thinking about all the angels we lost. but we know they will be okay it’s just hard to think about it.
So true I'm a British guy from Glasgow this terror attack felt to me very personal as I love my people and country and hate the evil people hurting my people GOD BLESS THE 22 IN HEAVEN 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢 LOVE WINS ALL ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have had the joy and absolute pleasure of taking my friend I have known since we were 8yrs old to see Coldplay at the BOKinTulsa, OK and it was the best time we've had in our friendship! I will never forget and will always appreciate the love❤ Coldplay! His ability to bring such joy and comfort to the world will live on today, tomorrow and though out our lives... Thank you Chris Martin!
As a lifelong Coldplay fan, i can accept that some people will not like their style of music. But you can NEVER find fault with the message of love and hope that their music brings 🙂…A Sky Full Of Stars at the River Plate just cannot be beaten.
'There are more good people on this earth than bad people, and the good people watch out for each other and take care of each other'- R J Palacio, Wonder. This sums up last nights concert for me, so stunning. When good people hold hands and come together, nothing could ever ever stop us, x
You know, Coldplay gets a lot of shit for no reason because they honestly make the most beautiful, most humble and most relatable masterpieces and I don't want to hear anyone argue with me on that. Just watch this fucking performance, it's breathtaking
I totally agree with both of you, and I'm a huge fan of Coldplay. But I think that Coldplay just started (after Mylo Xyloto) to write not that much emotive songs. Btw I'm so happy that they just grew up as musicians
Salman Vayani while I really love coldplay YOU shouldn't have to bash another artist to say how cool they are. work isn't a bad song either, I like how rihanna incorporated like caribbean way of talking into it(I would call it patois but I thunk that's just jamaica??? I'm not sure)
Usually i don't get emotional over music but hearing this song with what they're singing for makes me super emotional. This song is beautiful and this concert within itself is beautiful. As music fans we can all unite here. There were tears coming down my face by the end.
Cried the first time when I watched it live, crying right now. Given the circumstances it was really great estructured, Don't Look Back in Anger, then Fix You and then Viva La Vida. They gave the message just with music, without having to say anything else, just magic 💫❤️
Mauritz Fredzell OH MY GOD I just realized I wrote it wrong, thanks for pointing it out, I don't know how I ended up writing that instead of the actual name of the song 😅
"Tears stream down your face when you lose something you cannot replace. Tears stream down your face and WE will try to fix you." Alone we are strong together we are stronger!🌎🌟💕
Conner Hendrick How do you get faith in humanity from people singing along to a concert that wouldn't even had taken place if not multiple kids had died?
Conner Hendrick How does singing a song revive hope in humanity? We are cowed and crippled, scared and full of cowardice. The British public needs to grow some balls and fight The evil religion of Islam
Jesper because it shows everyone united as one and shows that no matter how much hate there is around this world, there is still and there will always be love.
(Thank you everybody) [Intro] I'll sing myself to sleep A song from the darkest hour Secrets I can't keep Inside of the day So sit down Oh sit down, oh sit down Sit down next to me Sit down, down, down, down, down In sympathy Oh sit down, oh sit down, oh sit down Sit down next to me Sit down, down, down, down, down [Verse 1] When you try your best but you don't succeed When you get what you want but not what you need When you feel so tired but you can't sleep Stuck in reverse [Verse 2] When the tears come streaming down your face When you lose something you can't replace When you love someone but it goes to waste Could it be worse? [Chorus] Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you [Verse 3] And high up above or down below When you're too in love to let it go But if you never try you'll never know Just what you're worth [Chorus] Lights will guide you home And ignite your bones And I will try to fix you [Bridge] Tears stream down your face When you lose something you cannot replace Tears stream down your face And I... Tears stream down your face I promise you I will learn from my mistakes Tears stream down your face And I...
Geneva I have tried not to cry but the tears just keep coming. This performance and song r just so beautiful. The words speak so clearly to me. If I were there the tears would be streaming. I think this song cleanses my soul ♡
I'm watching this from a small country all of the way around the world, and I can't stop the feeling.. The feeling of watching how love no matter where the hell you're from will always win! #PrayForTheWorld and Manchester... You have showed us all, how you defeat evil.
marianela mazariegos this isnt how you defeat evil, this is practically capitulation, i hate to say it but there will be more attacks and you will not prevent them by singing it away
Lost my brother in November/2024. Tears surely do stream down my face when I think of him coz I cannot find anyway to replace him. I hope lights guide you home Lwazi Zungu.
Coldplay has to be the most amazing band I've ever seen! Their music is so uplifting and unbelievably magical... You feel like you're on a high or something. I cannot believe I was lucky enough to see them live! They are a must see! To the people of Manchester, I am so truly sorry for what happened, and I hope things get better for you all! 😙😙 Sending good vibrations your way! (all the way from Texas!)
I listen to this piece at different stages in my life and only after you have lived through different stages... I (you) see the ever evolving meaning... Absolute Masterpiece
We remain in peace, we know how to live in peace despite everything, we do not destroy, we rebuild every day. Music is the freedom against any form of imposition. Our best defense. Augh!
This moment was so powerful...Guys can we just stop for a moment...stop caring about religion, race, any beliefs in general. We all are human, whether we have different opinions or make different life choices...we ARE human. I know everyone there and watching this felt that feeling...whatever you think it was, love, God, or just straight up emotions it was real for everyone. Lets love and respect each other please and work together to fight this evil
very well said its not about who you are or what you have beliefs in its about choosing how to live as a human being were all the same on this planet at the end of the day there's one difference between people and that could range from language , coloration of skin , many more as I said we all are humans #standformanchester
Best live performance ever. This song and video is the only song my son responds to and it calms him immediately. He's only 4 and has loved this song since age 2. This song is played daily in our home, during bedtime, bath time, Every medical appointment, drive in the car etc. ❤️
Religion didn't start it.People without love and compassion in their hearts started it. Whatever religion you have (or not),you should respect other people no matter what.So don't tell me this is about religion, because this is about empty minds! (sorry for my bad English)
The start of this song is by the band James. A lesser known but still a great Manchester band. Lyrics... "so sit down, oh sit down, oh sit down..... sit down next to me..... . sit down, down, down, down, down in sympathy"
Simon Fern I was wondering about that, I really enjoyed that part, thank you. It was a beautiful fit as an intro to 'fix you'. This entire performance was magical.

There are a few things more beautiful in life than when crowds of people sing in unison. It's even more lovely when it's a coldplay song
laceylace But that's only if you like them more, and I get it and agree.
U2 can pull of that same trick too. Super bowl performance for example.
This song is one of the best written ever. Period
Absolute fact.
Starts off singing James- Sit Down, also a great song 😊
Just recently I was wondering what is the best song ever written. And this one came to my mind.
Also Sirius/eye in the sky live by Alan Parsons, also many a Micheal Jackson song

If there were more Chris Martins on this planet the world would be a better place for sure. A real nice guy.
Bossman525 and everyone would have sweat patches

yes but its not the details of sex, its a beautiful song about the complexities of love.

Nina That is a fantastic idea. Then the concerts could be recorded into albums and and sell them with the proceeds going to a One Love Foundation.
Nina best idea ever!
your concerns is great. You must run with it. a single donation hub. where all the $ goes then is distributed.
"power of love" doesn't mean anything when people are getting murdered and we do nothing about it.
That seamless transition from Sit Down to Fix You is pure gold.
NotJustTWO dude tell me who sing that song 'sit down'
Cakra Wirasuta : Sit Down by James
Jarod Yiend Its by a band called James

“lights will guide you home” it made me cry thinking the 22 angels never went home :(
Go home girl! please
The lyrics suggest "home" in a spiritual sense so, really, they did ♥️
They're at home in the hearts of everyone who knows about them.

Lilia Stella do you think it made any difference to the problems of the world?
Or was just a momentary high for those watching?
I'm honestly asking.
Patinho No, I do think it made a difference. It made people feel strong. It made people unite. It made every person there merge into a single heartbeat. Maybe it didn't stop terrorists from killing people, no, but it mended broken hearts and broken people and that does make a difference.
Of course they know it won't change the world you cretin it's about bringing people together during hard time and getting through it together
The concert raised 15million for the charity and brought awareness to the incident
If COLDPLAY is playing in your country don't ever miss it... Because if you miss it... you missing a magical moment!!
The whole crowd singing along...chills..chills
L . I honestly had chills alway through the song, Most Beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life #IstandwithManchester

Josh Es cierto lo que dices
Thank you.
🤦🏻♂️
You gotta be kidding me.
@@We-bi3zs Feel free to just ignore and mind your own business.
I don't want to sound like a dick here but....just to see what all the fuss is all about me and my mates read their lyrics and it's not as great as people make it out to be. Like it's good if you're maybe a teenager who's crush turned you down. But not as sophisticated as people say.
@@muizzkazi5432 @mouuzse You clearly haven't listened to their music properly
All these stereotypes about only teens are supporting them and besides what's wrong if you're a teenager supporting a group that you like? Even The Beatles had teens screaming for them. You'd be surprised to know a lot of BTS fans inc myself are actually in this age group late 20's to early 30's. A group who had supported a lot of charities promotes self love, anti bullying and a whole lot of positive causes. I suggest to watch this vid a bit of introduction to them if you don't want its okay. Thank you.

I totally agree with both of you, and I'm a huge fan of Coldplay. But I think that Coldplay just started (after Mylo Xyloto) to write not that much emotive songs. Btw I'm so happy that they just grew up as musicians

1:41 is one of the most beautiful moments I've ever seen. There is hope for humanity
The Londoner not we, you. You are scared of Islam. If all muslims wanted to hurt you I'm sure war would have started a long time ago
Jesper because it shows everyone united as one and shows that no matter how much hate there is around this world, there is still and there will always be love.
lila blue Yes, exactly. It's transcendent. Love will always conquer hate. As long as we have love there is hope.

[Intro]
I'll sing myself to sleep
A song from the darkest hour
Secrets I can't keep
Inside of the day
So sit down
Oh sit down, oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
Oh sit down, oh sit down, oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
[Verse 1]
When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse
[Verse 2]
When the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?
[Chorus]
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
[Verse 3]
And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth
[Chorus]
Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
[Bridge]
Tears stream down your face
When you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I...
Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I...
Wow thanks
Thanks
