It's like a rock and a 2x4 had a baby. But they gave it up for adoption because the were far too young and irresponsible to even consider raising a child.
I didn't watch Patrick's video (yet) but if I had to guess ahead of time...that wood won't necessarily make a good wearable ring from the look of the fracturing of the material. Petrified wood is kind of hit and miss as far as nice solid material for projects and without having to deal with adhesives to help "stabilize" the piece. This video was fun to watch though. I always enjoy the stone cutting videos.
Wow pat your looking really good mate your face is all cleared up I’m sure you are happy about that I know what that was like it’s not fun so I’m happy for you mate
Is it just me or did we all not know that there was sand in this water jet because he explained how the Stone Age people would have used wood as a joke so does that mean it’s used in the jet would make sense
So the way that petrification occurs is as the wood degrades minerals are absorbed by the wood taking its place. Ergo, there is little if any remaining wood. What you have here is mineral. (i.e. rock )
On the other hand, you can actually petrify a 2x4. All you need is hydrochloric acid, either a titanium or silica solution, and an oven capable of being air tight and 1400⁰f+ temps and argon gas. The process takes up to a week including prep. I assume the channel makes enough money to buy or rent the oven and the rest is cheap as dirt
@@Remaggib Wait, are you a ring them? Because he only bores through material to make a ring. You don't look like a ring to me though, you stinky liar! D:
many decades ago they were actually 2x4. then when smooth finished for easy handling by common people at the big box stores they became slightly smaller, the after awhile the big processors realized no-one cared and made them even thinner. You can still get real 2x4's if you look hard enough but you will pay more
Everyone’s commenting about the 2x4 thing and it’s so overdone. Let me explain this to you simpletons: When they cut a board, they cut it down to 2 inches x 4 inches, but then the board dries and shrinks, leaving it down to 1.5 x 3.5
2:49 Wait a moment! A 2x4 isn't actually 2 inches by 4 inches? Edit: seriously, isn't 2x4 meant to be actually 2 in by 4 in? Or did i (in DE/EU) miss a memo?
Nope, because of the width of the saw blade. Your life is a lie. If you can find old pieces of reclaimed wood, I don't know how many years ago, it was actually 2x4. Thank you Bob Villa and This Old House.
Two by fours in the old days would shrink due to drying so they are now cut to the dimensions they would have shrunk to so they still fit replacing old boards

tom hanks, cris prat, and jason statham would like to buy the right to this presentation. It will be a fast pace action pack movie about 3 guys trying to make petrified 2x4's to build a petrified house with, but the mob, the governments, and space aliens try to stop them before they do. lots of explosions, and lots and lots of guns and fast cars and trucks. And a beautiful dancing woman in a bikini who only shows up to warn them of incoming danger. Vin Diesel plays the role of a japanese stone mason martial artist and prophet, who tells the whole story hundreds of years before it happens to his students, who laugh at him because they think he is making stuff up.
How do we know it's even wood if there was no lick test???
I'm still waiting for your email and delete the Face of the most important melting wooden box
I can’t wait to see all the people saying they ruined it. Honestly made this really beautiful! I would make a house out of that
If I send you guys my bills can you cut them in half for me?
Josh Foster this comment is gold
10/10 comment
I wonder how many times this has been commented.
They can but you will still need to pay both halves
You guys should make grips for pistols and revolvers
That and a knife
@@justicekaton8715 they do knifes
YES
Always a treat when Patrick stops by 😁
My custom knife order just shipped! Can't wait!
Just bought a medium thing. Can't wait for it to arrive in the mail
You come up with great ideas for your videos.
The first cut is the deepest
In the UK, when a 4 x 2 is sold as a 4 x 2, it is actually 4 inches x 2 inches.
Since no lick test, did Mitchell at least spit shine the 2x4?
Why does the camera man talk like Mordecai from regular show
Ummm... He is Mordecai?
It's like a rock and a 2x4 had a baby.
But they gave it up for adoption because the were far too young and irresponsible to even consider raising a child.
Paul Bujak the rock should’ve used protection. Silly Dwayne
Pls make a shirt with Patrick lurking in the background. Even a sticker. 😂
I just received my cleaver looks freaking awesome! Love it and a free batman batarang Hotdamn! Good stuff guys
God, this stuff is so cool... wish I could have just a piece of all the thousands of year old things you've cut
You need a flux capacitor if you want to make a time machine.
Not enough licking! Bring back the taste!
I was really excited to hear the saw ASMR
I bring up on your channel by Patrick...

Upon my professional opinion, I've concluded that wood was petrified by Medusa
I would love one of this guys rings, I never will buy one though. They are outlandishly expensive.
Really awesome guys love your vids. Thanks
Refreshed and saw this was posted 21 seconds ago, neat
same
Wood when it's about to be petrified:
*Chuckles* I'm in danger.
You guys should try a water jet against an unbreakable box
You should hook up a super powerful led lazer that points at the waterjet waterstream
Make a play button from one of the slabs!
Good to see a video
Is it just me or did we all not know that there was sand in this water jet because he explained how the Stone Age people would have used wood as a joke so does that mean it’s used in the jet would make sense
It's garnet powder
CAMSLAYER13 oh thx
In England we use the larger dimension first, so we call it 4x2.
So the way that petrification occurs is as the wood degrades minerals are absorbed by the wood taking its place. Ergo, there is little if any remaining wood. What you have here is mineral. (i.e. rock )

I found an actual petrified 2x4 buried in colorado. its crazy. 45 degree angles.
Not all seems to be bigger in the USA, at least we have 2x4 that is really 2x4 here in Finland :P
Yeah, the U.S. does too.

yeah thats how it is when people talk about their wood
Awwww, you scared it. Look how petrified it is...
Yep!
2:00 nice Napoleon Dynamite reference 😬
Cut a thick ferro rod for fire lighting and when you getting a 5 axis machine?
How many time have you been called a serial killer ... Human body vs water jet
It's a Tree-ode
No more videos with Patrick? Thank god lol
What a loser amirite
Well he did loosen up a bit.
He just a bit awkward.
But you have a point.
Patrick started his own channel and might I say it is quite good, don’t be so quick to judge
I love Patrick why you gotta be like that
so a 2 by 4 is in fact a 1.5 by 3.5?

Yes

can you do a vid where you make one of the knifes you sell
Didn't they already do that
What scared the wood? I mean really it was petrified. Also why did the water look like a lightsabre when it was cutting the wood
It's a waterjet. 60,000 psi water beam, that's why
Does it burn?
❤
Cut a giant garnet
Patrick is getting much more comfortable on camera then he used to be.
Plz do sounds interesting
That petrified me
Cut a block of ballistics gel
If I had the jet I wood do the same.
Its like 100~ worth of petrified wood
How does one person send you some?
Is it actually that strong then cut a diamond in half I know it cost alot
Pretty sure 2x4 is 2inches by 4 inches am I wrong ?
Wood shrinks after it is cut cuz it dries
you boys ever waterjet a persons hand?
It would be cool if you could swing a wooden or aluminium baseball bat into the water jet.
Got wood again, huh?
Incorrect.
A 2x4 is 45x95mm (1&3/4' x 3&3/4') after it has been regularised.
Where as CLS(Canadian limber source) is 1.5'x3.5'
