6:00 The part where Eggman talks about his cousin Maria, he says that everyone talks about her with love even when she's gone while "he was right there". @@LynnyToons I even came up with a couple of headcanons already for Eggman that explores more into his past, assuming if the next games this decade goes into them more: - His love for amusement parks comes from his grandfather, Gerald, taking him there during their outings - He wanted to join his grandfather on the ARK, but he couldn't since he was too young at the time, so Maria went with Gerald instead, which is part of the reason why he's very jealous of her (which ironically spared him from their same fates at the hands of G.U.N.) - He wasn't very popular amongst the other kids, mainly due to him wanting to be a scientist like his grandfather, so he was likely bullied a lot and they probably made fun of his name as "Robuttnik", which is probably why he was more receptive to the name "Eggman" that Sonic gave him later in life. -After the events of the ARK raid, the death of Maria greatly saddened everyone who knew her. They blamed Gerald for her death and made Eggman more of an outcast than before since he was worshipping "a mad scientist". -Next to Sonic, Eggman deeply hates G.U.N. more than anyone else because of them taking away the only family whom he cared about (Gerald) and ruining his life even further. His desire for wanting to rule the world besides seeking attention is that he wants G.U.N. entirely wiped off the map because he believes the world would be better off without them, regardless of the consequences, as well as delivering justice for his grandfather since he knows that G.U.N. are anything but "heroes".

Actual dialogue from an issue of Sonic IDW "Back to Baldy McNosehair it is, then." "THAT'S NOT FUNNY! IT'S NEVER BEEN FUNNY! IT'S NEVER GONNA BE FUNNY!"

@@iblobliboo8501 it does, Ian wrote it independent of the language. Also i don't think it makes anything convoluted, it's a well known fact that the games exist in its separate canon, and that goes for the comics and movies so haveing same characters show up in different medias doesn't change much

3:39 The surviving members of the ancients that took the chaos emeralds to the shrine of the master emerald (that they built) were exposed the the combined power of the master emerald and chaos emeralds transformed them into the chao which makes sense because Chaos is a mutated chao and took form similar to the ancients

And the ARK, the Black Arms, the World Federation, Station Square, Planet Donpa, etc. All very cool references
The name drops in this game always get me so happy!! Maria, the black arms, shadow, tangle, rouge, jet, blaze, infinite and more????? I LOVE❤❤❤❤❤
@7:30 Yeah, we don't talk about that stupid "Baldy McNosehair" nickname.
I like it
Actual dialogue from an issue of Sonic IDW
"Back to Baldy McNosehair it is, then."
"THAT'S NOT FUNNY! IT'S NEVER BEEN FUNNY! IT'S NEVER GONNA BE FUNNY!"
When Eggman talked about Maria I had a headcannon that he may have spent some time on the Ark. Maybe this confirms that?
Maybe super briefly. He says he never really knew her which can be interpreted as never even meeting her or just not getting close.
Honestly though, Maria is too compassionate to not show love to him so it's unlikely they ever spent time together. I believe Eggman wouldn't have turned out the way he did if Maria had survived as well as bonded with him.
Yea, Shadow is officially the oldest member of the cast.
I know there's a theory that the death egg was based on the ark
Knuckles is here!? The master emerald is unguarded!? It's power will be mine! Mwahahaa... Oh. No, wait. I'm stuck in cyberspace. Phooey. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’m curious if Knuckles would be concerned about anyone else stealing the Master Emerald. Besides Rouge there’s Metal Sonic depending if he still wants to backstab Eggman again. On top of that the IDW comics are now canon meaning characters like the Deadly Six (now that Zavok has seen Angel Island), Mimic the Octopus, Surge and Kit, Rough and Tumble, or Clutch the Opossum. Although I’m not sure if they are aware of the Master Emerald.
@@misterniceguy429
mimic doesn't really seem like he'd be interested in the master emerald
Rough and Tumble don't seem bright enough to actually get their hands on the emerald or even know what to do with it
and Clutch has more important things to do
It's actually amazing that Dr Robotnik embraced the name Eggman but not Baldy McNoseHair which is understandable since I wouldn't like to be called Baldy McNoseHair either.
I think it's supposed to be a reference to the fact that "Eggman" was a joke made by the Western audience, and the staff of Sega started using it in the games.
eggman was his japanese name since sonic 1.@@sarahalice7034
7:30 I wonder what the Japanese version says because he was always Eggman
he says ヒゲタマゴ which means "egg mustache"
@@brianuuuSonicReborn Thank you for the info!
@@brianuuuSonicRebornDo you think you can make a version of this with no music or sfx?
3:39 HE SAID THE THING
We got a load of this.
Wasn't the EggNet an IDW thing?
ian’s creating continuity between everything
No Archie also I think
Yeah but the game mentions Sticks and Tangle, so safe to assume stuff from other continuities "exist" but not the same way they are in their original appearance
@@damongambuti It just makes everything more convoluted, I wonder if the Japanese version has these references at all.
@@iblobliboo8501 it does, Ian wrote it independent of the language. Also i don't think it makes anything convoluted, it's a well known fact that the games exist in its separate canon, and that goes for the comics and movies so haveing same characters show up in different medias doesn't change much
it would've been kinda cool if eggman compared himself to gerald and then comparing sage and shadow
He may be smart and even but you know you got to feel bad for the guy for wanting family and being so alone with two idiots you got to feel bad for him no one else to really talk to
He could always put in a vocal module into Metal Sonic buuuuut that might be a mistake
The best eggman's interpretation after adventure 2,its a shame that there is no a fight against eggman
2:37 Three piddly islands? Must've been before they changed it to 5 islands.
I feel like we need a game focusing on Eggman’s origin
Dude I'm so happy the black arms were mentioned
The only sonic game I've ever personally played is unleashed, so I admit some of the lore here escapes me. But it does make me wanna get frontiers. It seems like a wealth of good story
Would egg man see Tails as a threat without Sonic? That last recording got me thinking.
8:27 i agree on that.. If tails was on his own and relied on his skills, speed, two tails and his mind power he would be a threat for eggman. for the trouble he gave him in station square and on the ark like eggman said.. he would be a real rival for eggman. I loved that Ian flynn added that detail.. i appreciate that.
Eggman's voice is very calm and nice
Im starting to really like the dynamic between Eggman and Sage. I like how it draws parallels between him and Gerald, in that they both created life, which I want to see more explored. I feel like it gives him more character and more depth.
The other night I used this to help fall asleep and it worked amazingly!
The one talking about Tails and his potential. Eggman + Tails working together, world is doomed. XD
Eggman farting on people is officially cannon.
What
@@zachattack1279 yeah in Sonic Riders, he attacks the racers by farting on them.
@@crimsoncrusader518 clip?
3:39
The surviving members of the ancients that took the chaos emeralds to the shrine of the master emerald (that they built) were exposed the the combined power of the master emerald and chaos emeralds transformed them into the chao which makes sense because Chaos is a mutated chao and took form similar to the ancients
is it me or is the game waaaayy better then previous sonic games, in terms of story telling and acknowledging some character developments
7:32
Kinda funny how they acknowledge the nose hair joke in Frontiers.
The voice sounds like Rebecca’s grandpa from the original Yu-Gi-Oh series
Voiced by Mike Pollock
shame that they never made a game based on the Metarex Saga from Sonic X, they could have thrown in a mention of them or Cosmo's race in Egg Memo 7
Honestly it will be interesting to see Eggman going forward, he’s still a narcissistic maniac but helping flesh out his motives beyond “I’m evil” is really nice to see, hearing him praise Tails intellect is just S tier
That last memo is wild
Pure gold
How did you get the game a day early?
7:32 i wish sonic said that in this game
5:53 Maria
Just me or is the only game not mentioned is Sonic 06
Are you aware of what happens in Sonic 06?
There are good reasons for that.
And to be safe drop an entire egg fleet full of gasoline and never look back also bring the death egg to drop the egg death ray
You are aware that game literally reckons itself in the true ending right?
Since Solaris doesn’t exist anymore that means the events of 06 never happened.
United Federation? When did we get to Star Trek?
United Federation has been a thing since Sonic Adventure 2. It's the Sonic World's USA equivalent.
@helenfotopoulou5125 Oh yeah. I forgot, Sonic's world is an Earth set after the nuclear horrors of World War 3.
So eggman was jealous of his cousin maria just because he never meet her?
They paid more attention to her even though she was dead and he was right there
"I wonder if... she... has a preference?" Eggman wanting to know and respecting his AI daughter's preferred pronouns. Mad respect Ivo.
If sage is supposed to be like a daughter to him, why would he wonder if she has a type like he's interested in her
I assume you mean the preference line, I read more like wondering if she has a preference for how she wants to be referred since he was struggling with calling her either "it" or "she"
He didn't say type. He said preference.
He's wondering what gender Sage prefers to be referred to as.
And if he did mean it like that I think he meant like if she liked boys her age or something like and over protective dad
He wasn’t referring to THAT
He was talking about her pronouns
I don't think some of these are in chronological order
