Thank you Victoria, The Cantina has been seen in OT, The Clone Wars and Mando to say the least. Lets get this and the tiers. Once in a life time for all Star Wars collectors.
Thank you Victoria and the guests for this great stream! To all of you want the figures but not the Cantina, please know that there will be a big demand from across franchises not just Star Wars; but G.I. Joe and others, with all kinds of figure collectors wanting to buy some of these diorama parts, separately, on eBay and such. Just sell the parts separately and you’ll get a chunk of money back on the investment to get the figures; maybe more than you think. The more people back, the more chances we have to reach and get all these amazing figures guaranteed. I’m personally backing the deluxe of course for myself, can’t pass on the full deal, and will get also a base set for the figures to to have loose - both carded & loose is a must for these - and will sell the diorama parts separately to those who want them, but did not want to back the full amount to get some parts only. It’s a win-win situation for all of us. Spread the good word we will get this fully backed & tiered!
Fantastic discussion, love the enthusiasm and passion for the Cantina and all round positive attitude towards the hobby. I backed in day 1 and am feeling a bit worried by the slow take up of the Haslab, but fingers crossed we reach all the tiers. Thanks all 🙏
hashtag backthetonnika! 😄 Question?: Do you know if Angela will be able to get a bunch of Tonnika figures for signings etc? Would be nice of Hasbro to send her some (if it backs of course!)
@@VictoriasCantina Ah, I hadn't got to that bit yet in the video! If any loose figures ever come up on Tunghori I'll get an extra one for Angela. Unfortunately I'm not in a place to splash £400 at the moment - so secondary market is my only hope to get the figures (and Tunghori prices will be reasonable I hope. - I got the Din and Jawa Razorcrest pack-ins from them, so fingers crossed.
Catching the rerun, but one thing that isn't totally on-topic but I loved when Chris said they need to do all the Bad Batch at once whenever they get around to them. It would be way worse to just get one more and then have to wait another two years for the next one. Better to get them all at once.
I think I'm the same age as Chris, (I'm 51 and saw Star Wars in the cinema aged 5 in 1978 - in the UK), it's sad to think about our "collecting mortality" but we can't realistically keep collecting forever. I'm running out of room, (actually I've run out of room). The Cantina is my dream item (I'm not happy about lack of walls, but it is what it is) this could be my last big item. I'll slow down the collecting and enjoy what I have.
Since every backer of either the base or deluxe is counted toward the total number of backers, I feel like they should be adding an extra backer to the total after every 4th deluxe that is backed, because those four people could have backed the base offering but they chose to pay an extra $100, totaling another $400 toward the campaign which is the cost of the base offering…. Just a thought
Thanks for the video. Given that it's such a high-end product, it would have been good for the back/outside pieces of the modular designs to be weathered/textured.
I’d be up for 2 packs of new media figures like the kotor pack and kenobi one. Then do a wave of the most in demand characters from that media. The retro collection packs can keep us satisfied in the meantime
Awesome livestream! The misinformation is unfortunate, like Michael’s video that you commented on. Just a bunch of hate clickbait. Talking about a non existent band stage when we know that he knows damn well how the filming worked and the history of Star Wars. And saying the band will cost you 250, when we can all look at eBay and see that they are still 90-120 bucks, it’s just the one graded auction that he intentionally picked out to gaslight people. Idk, Maybe the guy doesn’t understand, no matter how many times we’ve gone over this, the dude still thinks you can sell the barge at retail. His opinion is objective reality apparently. Let’s back the cantina! Or just back it anyways and sell it later for profit - congrats, you have some free carded figures, 6in figures, or some money to go towards a haslab that you do want. If you invested in the barge, you would be making bank right now!
when you say back the bar, it sounds like back the barge, can you say something with the word Cantina in it? instead, before they revealed it, Taco Bell had a special Cantina chicken taco, and the taco bell employees i think got hats or t shirts that said Cantina in cool lettering, so i think Pepsico knew about the cantina before we did
Okay paused at 1:23 when Chris was talking about backing for the carded figures perceived future value. Yeah that's for carded figures. How are you going to use these figures in your bar if they are carded? Other random thoughts that haven't been mentioned yet at where I stopped. The floor. You don't have to use the floor if you don't want to but if you want to set it up as shown (complete top down/coffee table) - a floor would be nice to have even if it is carboard. The figures. What if you don't have any/all of the figures to populate the cantina that have been released over a 30 year span? Some of those are pretty expensive on the secondary and they aren't getting any cheaper. And speaking of "definitive"...(a word I hate btw and feel has ruined the hobby) - yeah - some of those are hardly definitive. I get lighting might be asking a little too much but why couldn't they have thrown a couple sound boxes in the set? One for the band alcove (Remember those Disney exclusive figures that came with the stand that played the song) - one in the bar to play all of the different sounds and dialog from the iconic scene and of coarse one for Solo's alcove. We'll supply the batteries. Anyway just had to get that off before I forgot. They should throw loose examples of the figures that get backed in the box it would cost them very little. But hey they want you to buy two! Back to the show.
Catching up late on the replay. I backed the base cantina which is more than enough for me and love the modular nature of this set. Talking more broadly about TVC, I think a ton of people will buy the OT figures for sure but most also like the new media, like Shin and Baylan is two of the most requested figures last year and we don't even have a pipeline. Also echoing Bret's comment on the floor, what is wrong with people??
The problem with the Playset is that appeal is limited to the hard core TVC fans, particularly at this price point. It lacks the WOW factor of previous TVC HasLabs that generates broader appeal. It will most likely be funded, but top out at tier one unlock. Should have been a Pulse exclusive.
I'm hoping there's enough of us TVC collectors out there to get to 17k. That's all we have to get, we don't need to get over 17k, unless Hasbro gives us some more figures.
If the Playset is modular, why can’t floor pieces be modular as well? Doesn’t that also provide flexibility? Casual fans don’t know the editing in ANH, only the band was a memorable part of the cantina scene. This should have been considered for broader appeal at this price point as that is necessary to get fully funded with all tiers. And, that broader appeal is not helped by laughing at and demeaning some valid points of criticism that should have been taken into account by Hasbro.
people that make action figure theater videos on youtube like to have playsets so their fan films look like star wars, if the cantina had a roof you could put on and take off, they could do an overhead shot of their landspeeder going through mos eiseley

i want a floor so i can pick it up and the figures and cups and chairs wont' fall everywhere, and i want the chairs to be stuck to the floor, so they don't fall everywhere and the tables can have pegs to snap onto, they got the table wrong for Han's alcove he had a flat top mcdonalds table that he could shoot under
Great project for those that want a playset, but the "time for Tonnikas" campaign being restricted to a $400 release is disappointing for some that only want to buy the figures. This also prevents carded collectors from owning a loose & carded set, unless they buy two cantinas. Even Angela won't have access unless she purchases one?! Hasbro should be more considerate to the fans that buy figures and not playsets, because those collectors far outnumber the backers.
The Haslab figures look great, but I’m surprised that people seem to be ok with the Tonnika Sisters being tied to a Haslab. I understand why Hasbro would do it, but this sucks for the fans who don’t want the cantina!

Thank you for your thoughtful discussion Victoria, Chris and Brett. A great listen! And Chris we DID make this together. I stand by my mushy note :)
Great discussion. Have no fear. This will back.
Sail barge was and is the holy grail of the Haslabs and I still kick myself for not getting it.

Hi Victoria at last I have been waiting for you on this 😊✨✨✨

We need to make more noise for this
if the tables were magnetic, and the cups were too, they could stick to the tables and to the bar, if that was magnetic also

Hasbro isn’t responsible for some of these decisions. Lucasfilm has a lot of input. If this is the only way to do the Tonnikas, we’ll take it.
I'm sure Hasbro will give Angela her very own figure. They pretty much have to, otherwise it's pretty bad etiquette and PR.
The Haslab figures look great, but I’m surprised that people seem to be ok with the Tonnika Sisters being tied to a Haslab. I understand why Hasbro would do it, but this sucks for the fans who don’t want the cantina!
If this is the only way Lucasfilm would approve them, it is what it is. I’ll take it.
This is the only way they would sell successfully. There would pegwarm in stores.
