- Butter murukku is a fantastic evening snack for tea and coffee. In this video, we will see how to make a crispy and tasty Butter Murukku at home with simple ingredients in Tamil. It's a simple process but the cooking process and the ratio of ingredients are important.

Here are the ingredients for Butter Murukku.
Raw rice flour - 400 gms
Gram flour - 300 gms
Jeera - 2 tsp
Asafoetida - 1tsp
White till - 2 tbsp
Butter - 3tbsp
Oil for frying
Cooking soda a pinch
Salt to taste

This is an approximate measurement. It depends on cup size.
Gram flour - 300gms - 2cups
Rice - 400gms - 2 1/2 cups

How 3tbsp of butter comes 120grms?..could you pls check the weight again?...
Usually a full tablespoon(not tsp) of processed butter is about 30 to 40 gms.
If the percentage of gram flour is 75%. What is the water ratio? What is the rough temp of the oil. These are all critical things you just glossed over. Also 3 tbsp is not 120grams. Really a half baked recipe.

I made the murukku but it turn dark in colour if the heat is little more. and when I try to fry it in low heat.. It becomes chewy.. Kindly advise
