Thanks for the honest feedback here! We do have photo editing features in our adjustments panel, over on the right side menu, when an image is selected, and multiple-pages (multi-artboards) are coming soon!
I wish it wasn’t so expensive, I would love to use kittl but I can’t afford to use this right now as I’m not making enough sales. I wish you had a cheaper once a year payement.
Hello Kittldesign, can you tell me how to change black grunge to white? I don't see that option, but I have seen folks using white instead of black.. thank u for any help..I mean the texture, I know I can change the splatter type .. but the regular textures..
I currently use both pretty extensively because they each have their pros and cons. I primarily use Kittl for the creating of my actual designs, and I use Canva for my mockups and marketing. If I was forced to choose one and only one though, right now it would probably be Canva. I'm really surprised Canva has not added more text effects though. That might be the biggest con to Canva for me.
same! Kittl is quickly adding more while canva is focused too much on the AI tools when just text effects could help them out. Now kittl is coming for those downsides
Great overview. I use both and prefer Kittl by a country mile. I am designing for POD apparel and as you noted, their designs are incredible and great to build from. Canva lacks a basic feature of having no 300dpi png export, so that's a major limitation and quite stunning that they do not offer this (so it's not good for anyone doing print on physical products -- and the pdf option is not what we want). Canva wins for mockups, Kittl basically has a few and they're not great. So I use Canva for mockups mainly and Kittl for almost everything else. You hit all the pertinent points here, so great overview!
I currently use Canva and have used it for a variety of design projects. I love Canva, but I'm liking the features that Kittl offers in particular with text manipulation. Adding textures, masking and just being able to move the letters in any direction is a huge plus to creating unique designs. Sounds like their licensing is more reasonable for POD sellers too. Perhaps I'll be using both for the features I like in each.
Thank you again sharing such helpful content that’s not a broken record of what we’ve already heard. Would love a video on your productive efficient listing process. How you post your listing correctly and efficiently the first time. I am about to post my first listing and my perfectionism have me checking that everything is perfect before listing.
Kittl has added photo editing/raster image editing a couple of weeks ago. You can alter brightness, hue, saturation etc., but I think it doesn't´t have as many options as Canva. (I'm not quite sure, since I've stopped using Canva a while ago)
Kittl is not available on mobile. ALOT of us design using mobile devices exclusively. I was really disappointed when I did a trial then couldn't even use it at all because it isn't mobile compatible. Canva is exactly the same whether you use it on mobile or desktop. I finished a design literally while waiting in line at the grocery store.
thats actually a great point too! I am going to recommend that to them on their feedback page as that would be a big help especially for ipad designers
A little off topic but I had a question about Canva: What is the difference between the solid and dotted line when it comes to the center? I cannot seem to find this answer anywhere!
Thank you for this video, very helpful! I use Canva but I really love the templates in Kittle ! I am not sure about the types of files generated by Kittle (only PNGs ?), maximum dimensions and resolution of files. Can you help with this info?
I also regularly use both and give Canva the prize. Kittl does have a lot of fun, editable images but it gets questionable at the download phase. My biggest Con for Kittl is even if you set the DPI to 300 and use the 'Optimize Quality' bar, your image still comes out as "medium resolution" in Printify. This, in turn, is sketchy if you're selling POD as the image might come out looking faded or "cracked" during printing.
Exactly. Hard to believe they don't have hi res pngs. That's my major negative with Canva and why I don't spend much time designing anything in there. @@CBestPal
I don't have that problem either with Kittl, no problem getting high resolution images. I did have one wee problem recently though where the file wouldn't export correctly and I had to recreate the project from scratch in another art board.
Great info. I tried Kittl about 3 months ago & they didn't have a ruler/grid pop up when designing. Anyone know if this has changed? Made even, manual spacing of graphics & lines difficult
@@KittldesignThank you this would be extremely helpful. In fact, it is the only barrier keeping me from switching from Canva to Kittl. I like to create some designs from scratch with creative Fabrica graphics. Even when customizing Kittl templates, it's really hard without an automatic ruler/grid being applied to the design. I can almost guarantee I'm not the only person holding out on Kittl for this reason. It was a glaring problem. Most of us who use Kittl are amateurs. We need our software to help us make designs that are perfectly spaced and symmetrical
New Etsy wannabe-seller here: I'm using Canva for the moment and my designs are exported at 5000x5000px(this is the resolution found in various tutorials). Whatever images I am using in the designs are high quality(say 4k resolution @300dpi). Now, when you export the design from Canva, there is no DPI setting and of course the high quality material loses its "umph". My question to you: do you upscale your design before sending it to the printer? What Canva resolution are you using if you don't mind me asking?
A little off topic but do you have any thoughts on Looka vs. Canva for designing a branded website? Looka has nice logo designing, branding, POD, plus, AI powered website design that seems to work quite smoothly. I agree Kittl designs are more enticing, but there is no website builder. Canva has the photo and video editing, but I’m wondering if you’ve tried Canva for a branded website design? I tried Canva for video editing and I agree, it was super buggy and frustrating! Thanks ❤
I just subscribed to Kittl Pro today after debating for 5 months and already missing Canva's background remover when you upload a graphic from creative Fabrica and erase some parts of it. I don't know if you can do that in kittl.
I have a video on both of their licenses :) kittl yes- canva yes too but has some requirements. You cant just print 1 canva element, you have to add sometbing to it

@@c.u.online Good to know! Thank you! The first item I altered worked fine, but then I couldn't export or download the second item. Is there something I might be missing? I did alter the second item, as well.
Canva sucks if you are trying to make shirts. If you use a template and change it the website needs to say "do you have permission to use this" if it ask you, do you own the copyright? You cant use it on a shirt store. I think kittl you could use any design for commercial use i believe

Love Kittl! Would love to see a ton more apparel mockups. Just good basic options in t-shirts, sweatshirt, hoodies etc. would be a great addition.
I use both Canva and Kittl, but hands down kittl is my favorite!

I like that CANVA shows me the spacing distance when placing images. Makes it easier to keep it symmetrical. BUT KITTL offers specific color removal

makes sense to use kittl for pod. thank you for the detailed video
I use both too. Basically this post summarized every pro and con. 🎉
FYI, If you go month to month with Kittl the price is $15, not $10. If you pay annually, it is $10/mth = $120.
Would you or have you created a video showing a walkthrough for design, mockup, etc for kittl?
I did :) ruclips.net/video/AgvdjO4joE0/видео.html
the app on canva sounds super useful
It is!
That was an in depth tutorial for POD seller! Good job!
