But if you do "read the instructions" as you are told, you will find that they go through the same steps that this video does!!!! Having said that though, everyone is different, some people are better at reading instructions while others prefer video. Still a very helpful video!!!

The IGN "tutorial" made it seem so easy. I hadn't modded fallout since covid lockdowns, so I figured maybe modders had made it that easy in the last 4 years. Nope, spent my whole day trying to get this to work basically. This video finally has me on the right track.

That and the last guy said that wabbajack will guide you. Bs bro. I've been modding for ten years and FoNV has been the biggest pain in the ass. This guy's a hero though
It's worth mentioning, if anyone is experiencing flickering landscapes (most noticeable in Megaton, at least for me), you also need to install the "New Vegas Heap Replacer" from Nexus Mods. It's not mentioned in the guide, but it's the fix you need if you have that issue. Now if I could just figure out how to properly use Special K.
@@stephenwooten1173 You don’t have to add it to the mod list. You just download the Heap Replacer and extract those files to your New Vegas install directory. Just drag and drop.

Amazing Guide! Thank you so much. But folks should be warned, If you don't have nexus mods premium you are going to be clicking "slow download" and waiting a 5 second delay over FOUR HUNDRED TIMES. Yeah, you heard that right. I wish that I could buy a day pass from nexus mods. I don't want to subscribe for something that I am going to forget to cancel (yeah, I know, that's why they make you do that)
i manage on my own after watching the ign videos but after playing for a couple hours came to watch some youtube videos and your videos popped up in my feed. Wish i would of watched it before doing all this on my own.

I keep running into "Installation failed" after downloading and running the wabbajack modlist. "cannot continue, was unable to download one or more archives" . Any idea what can be causing this? Im also not being prompted in nexus mods to download.
Just to let others know. The Begin Again folder CANNOT be inside the Wabbajack installation folder and CANNOT be inside the Fallout New Vegas installation folder. The automated downloads will fail. Here is an example of what to do. Installation Directory: C:/Modlists/Begin Again Download Directory: C:Modlists/Begin Again/Downloads

I am completely unable to create a new steam library. Settings, storage, drop down menu, add drive, created folder in C:\. Nothing happens. No error message or anything. Any ideas?

you can, though you would need to completely uninstall all Vortex mods and clean your Fallout games (cleaning it is covered in this video) before installing Begin Again. once Begin Again is installed, you can install Vortex mods again, though they would be separate from the Begin Again install. you can't add mods to Begin Again with Vortex, if that's what you're asking adding mods to MO2 is very easy though, just connect your Nexus account in the settings and it should work immediately when you click the Vortex download button on any mod page

Excellent if not fairly technical guide. I had Wabbajack fail to load a couple of times and realised I prob did not have the global versions so deleted games in steam fully and bought both games for a tenner and installation went fine. I am just waiting for that last part that may take a couple of hours. I have done the DXVK fix and moved the YUPTTW where it should be and created a shortcut on the desktop. I installed 140 files off nexus before I broke and went premium :)
For those having downloading issue like "Download error for file ...", change your download location (CDN) on your Nexus web page settings under Profile > Settings > Preferences > Preferred download location. Spent 2 days looking for this workaround :)

finished setting up the mod last night around 12 am midnight lmao and i started around 6 pm so it does take while to setup but it's still worth it for all the improvement it makes for F3 and FNV.
thanks for this. i'm not tech-illiterate, but when it comes to things like modding my favorite games things can get complicated! the last game i played modded on PC was skyrim around ten years ago using the nexus mod manager, and that wasn't using a modlist so it was often chaotic.
Thanks for this i just got the itch to play new Vegas again after watching the tv show and wanted to try with mods since I've only ever played it vanilla. I'm glad I'm on pc it soooo much better with mods.
I was able to play for a full 10 minutes before the game crashed on me, I followed everything in the guide to a T and I dont even blame the guide because you couldnt have been more clear. At this point when it comes to modding Fallout I want to give up. No matter what I do it always ends up with the game crashing every 10 minutes because of something random.

Thank you so much for this because at first i saw the mod on a vid ign recently made and the person only explained that you needed wubbajack and so i only downloaded that and then the modpack and i kept getting the error that it couldnt detect the fallout3.ini but now after watching your video seeing i needed more really helped and now im playing it and it runs smoothly,there are random things that load in and out very quick but other than that its awsome!
Having a LOD/Draw distance bug, floating pannels and no bridges. I turned off LOD in the mod organizer settings and nothing changed. Anyone have a solution?

Okay yall, if you have an AMD gpu, and are running into issues freezing on the main menu, turn OFF the DVXK (HDR or not) as that's causing crashes in main menu currently, AND revert from the latest drivers 24.3.1 back to 23.12.1 As the drivers are causing issues as usual with AMD this will help if you are crashing when hitting play on the main menu as well.
It took me three hours and a bunch of reddit surfing but I got it to work. You can also install and skip to New Vegas via console code but you have to skip the Fallout 3 intro then edit the ini file so you don't start NV with a handicap.
I am watching your guide after I saw another guide from IGN. I am stil downloading all the mods using Wabbajack and thought that was tedious and then you are telling me the actual installation takes up to two hours...omg. Can watch the TV series again while I am installing.

Just FYI for people who do not have BLUE highlighted mods, you have to launch the game first and they will go blue. Just quit the game and go back to Mod Organiser and it'll of fixed itself :)

I must be doing SOMETHING wrong. I've followed this "life saver" video, went step by step and still getting Error downloading modlist. I've uninstalled and restarted this whole video multiple times now...
Well, after trying a few hours to install, its Seems I got it lol. initially, TTW i guess didnt fully download or what not - i never got the finished screen which I didnt know it had. So I had the pink triangle with the ! in them all over the place and no distance landscape or anything. Reinstalled everything from scratch and it works now. I dont get the blue highlights on everything in MO2 in the right hand pane like yourself and the guide says but it doesnt seem to affect anything from what I can tell. Time will tell how this goes lol. Thanks for the video, short, sweet and to the point.

I had Wabbajack fail to load a couple of times and realised I prob did not have the global versions so deleted games in steam fully and bought both games for a tenner and installation went fine. I am just waiting for that last part that may take a couple of hours. I have done the DXVK fix and moved the YUPTTW where it should be and created a shortcut on the desktop. I installed 140 files off nexus before I broke and went premium :)
For those having downloading issue like "Download error for file ...", change your download location (CDN) on your Nexus web page settings under Profile > Settings > Preferences > Preferred download location. Spent 2 days looking for this workaround :)

Had to do a lot of troubleshooting 😅😅 various videos to find out why steam wasn’t verifying files. But it wasn’t steam. It was just keep signing out and back in of wabbajack etc. thank you for the help!!!!

finished setting up the mod last night around 12 am midnight lmao and i started around 6 pm so it does take while to setup but it's still worth it for all the improvement it makes for F3 and FNV.

It worked! the only problem was a stuttering so bad it was unplayable, and it wasn't my rig. I disabled DXVK and now it works like a charm!
thanks for this. i'm not tech-illiterate, but when it comes to things like modding my favorite games things can get complicated! the last game i played modded on PC was skyrim around ten years ago using the nexus mod manager, and that wasn't using a modlist so it was often chaotic.
Thanks for this i just got the itch to play new Vegas again after watching the tv show and wanted to try with mods since I've only ever played it vanilla. I'm glad I'm on pc it soooo much better with mods.

its always failed install when i want to install a begin again
I was able to play for a full 10 minutes before the game crashed on me, I followed everything in the guide to a T and I dont even blame the guide because you couldnt have been more clear. At this point when it comes to modding Fallout I want to give up. No matter what I do it always ends up with the game crashing every 10 minutes because of something random.

Thank you so much for this because at first i saw the mod on a vid ign recently made and the person only explained that you needed wubbajack and so i only downloaded that and then the modpack and i kept getting the error that it couldnt detect the fallout3.ini but now after watching your video seeing i needed more really helped and now im playing it and it runs smoothly,there are random things that load in and out very quick but other than that its awsome!

Having a LOD/Draw distance bug, floating pannels and no bridges. I turned off LOD in the mod organizer settings and nothing changed. Anyone have a solution?

Okay yall, if you have an AMD gpu, and are running into issues freezing on the main menu, turn OFF the DVXK (HDR or not) as that's causing crashes in main menu currently, AND revert from the latest drivers 24.3.1 back to 23.12.1 As the drivers are causing issues as usual with AMD this will help if you are crashing when hitting play on the main menu as well.

It took me three hours and a bunch of reddit surfing but I got it to work. You can also install and skip to New Vegas via console code but you have to skip the Fallout 3 intro then edit the ini file so you don't start NV with a handicap.
installing stalker anomaly was a way easier to install by myself, ttw is not a pleasant install experience so here i am

I am watching your guide after I saw another guide from IGN. I am stil downloading all the mods using Wabbajack and thought that was tedious and then you are telling me the actual installation takes up to two hours...omg. Can watch the TV series again while I am installing.

I'm sure a lot of people are turned off from playing this mod based on how convoluted the installation is, hopefully they find a way to simplify it
it only takes 10 minutes, minus the time for downloading the mods in the modlist
i got absolutely so upset from trying to install this (the woes of being an easily frustrated autistic lass) and the fact that they never clarified where to put the modlist and begin again folder made me so mad. thank you So Much for your help

Just FYI for people who do not have BLUE highlighted mods, you have to launch the game first and they will go blue. Just quit the game and go back to Mod Organiser and it'll of fixed itself :)

Well, after trying a few hours to install, its Seems I got it lol. initially, TTW i guess didnt fully download or what not - i never got the finished screen which I didnt know it had. So I had the pink triangle with the ! in them all over the place and no distance landscape or anything. Reinstalled everything from scratch and it works now. I dont get the blue highlights on everything in MO2 in the right hand pane like yourself and the guide says but it doesnt seem to affect anything from what I can tell.
Time will tell how this goes lol.

Don´t work for me. The launcher just don´t want to start the game or says "Already an instance of Fallout NV running". But i don´t set the DXVK thing up because i don´t know how and the tutorial on the website is meh...
