    It’s great that it’s finally in sync now, and to think that it wasn’t actually an echo. Seriously, whoever thought it was an echo obviously doesn’t know how sound works

  • @RossTheGenMan

    Your right.. in the end if you know something will work it makes sense to do it then spend alot of time on something that may never work.. specially when time costs money. The cost of a working solution will easily pay for itself in saved time. It was great to hear everything synced. The video wasn't that bad.. and definetly better then no video.

    Totally agree with your theory of time vs. material cost. The company I work for liked to ''save money'' on automation direct components only to have myself and the controls engineer troubleshoot machines on start up for days and weeks. We still fight that battle with ''budget'' light curtains.

    I absolutely love the PSE 6 and 10s. Their sync protocols have never failed us for either Gentex, System sensor or even Wheelock. Y'all made the right move just removing the other items. My company utilizes the hell out of these and daisy chains them on almost every job lol, lots of options. They can power Modules too and keep a constant 24V using the dip switches under whatever terminals, and the global options. Great video once again man!

    pro tip: those PS-10 panels accept a EOL resistance range of 2k - 27k ohms for the EOLRs. any resistance in that range is acceptable per the documentation. We installed 2 of those panels in a school to replace some old FCPS-24s and didnt have to swap out resistors.

    • @nics-systems-electric

      Sync-1A is only meant to be used as a master sync generator not slave sync so it would not synchronize and act as a slave from the 640s on board nac's

  • @RossTheGenMan

    I noticed this in another video where you did testing as well.. after the pull .. the first signal has 4 beeps.. then it goes into sets of three. in the test video it did it ever time.. 4.. then 3, 3 , 3 ect. Also when you pulled the station there was a loud alarm sound like an alarm was right beside you.. (not the panel beep) then it seemed like it stopped working and you could only here sounders in the distance.

    This is why America code should stick with either speaker strobe or speaker only if it is synced or just annoying pointless electronic horn thing horn to horn or speaker to speaker. To keep it in sync other wise unsync is epilepsy.

      Normally these fire alarms would have self synchronization capabilities as it uses a small chip inside of the device but it most likely failed and the sync on the panel failed so it looks like they were all unsynchronized

    I almost wonder if something was wired wrong when the addition was put up in 2020. I can't find the video of your high school prior to the addition being put up, but I'll bet some money that it had to do with the way something was wired up when the addition was put up. But I could be wrong, but that is just my theory. As far how this video was put together, was there many clips of the process, no. But I still believe you did a good job because I feel like you explained the process very well, plus the couple video clips that you put in + the photos. And that external power supply for the NACs is a better solution, because not only was the old setup not very cost effective, but you are also not putting a bunch of stress on whatever was powering those NACs, not sure if that's right, correct me if I am wrong. But either way, you all did a good job on this!

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  Год назад +1

      I think the synchronization had failed before the addition the old set up would have worked fine and been OK if it wasn't mixed with the unboard nac's directly off the 640 as the sync 1A module is not meant to be used as a slave sync only master sync generator

    • @IanGSully
      @IanGSully 7 месяцев назад

      @@nics-systems-electric That SYNC-1(A) seems like a piece of shit to be honest. Even know the NFS2-3030 doesn't have onboard NACs, does it at least have a sync output onboard the CPU?

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  7 месяцев назад

      @@IanGSully no it does not that's why they are used on the new install we are doing

    • @IanGSully
      @IanGSully Месяц назад

      @@nics-systems-electric Honestly, if I speced that whole system. I would have one onborad NAC connected to one power supply/NAC booster, and another onboard NAC on another NAC Booster. I feel like that would have been so much better rather than just powering off that whole weird setup. Because I think that was overly complicated than it needed to be when that XP6-CA w/ SYNC-1A cards were in there. But yeah, I will say it is definitely better than it was before!!!

  • @Casonplayz
    @Casonplayz Год назад

    My school is so out of sync I think sync issues are common in schools ngl

  • @emetalce
    @emetalce Год назад

    FYI, I'm not sure how US is but SYNC-1A in canada is basically obsolete in the sense that it's discontinued.
    An XP6-CA card can use a NAC output as an activation/sync from a PSE6/10 provided your 320/640 is providing control and sync to the PSE10. Assuming you have dipswitches set correctly, this works well if you have class A circuits which are needed for living units in Canada. Keep in mind that this needs to be treated as a speaker even if you are using horns! You would need to take the disable power monitors off and program as CONTROL SPEAKER in verifire/panel.
    I've tested a number of scenarios with the PSE10 and XP6s. However an ACPS610 is always superior but more expensive.

    • @nics-systems-electric
      @nics-systems-electric  Год назад

      Yes this is Canada. As far as an XP6-CA acting as a slave sync we had no luck

    • @emetalce
      @emetalce Год назад

      @@nics-systems-electric Interesting, a building I did recently used an XP6 and no sync-1a. strobes and sound were syncd.
      From the 320, I have one NAC constant to Input 2 on PSE10 then one NAC sync ZF8 SS to input 1; PSE10 set to input 1 being sync input.
      From an output on PSE10 I went to the XP6 (master SS used)>
      It's always harder to explain these weird scenarios and tech support isn't much help, but it is doable.
