This pointed me to the right toolbar. If it's still being stubborn for anyone else, I went along that whole bottom toolbar and checked "default" on line color, thickness, and style before it worked.
Hey Jonathan. I knew this, however I'm trying to figure out WHY freshly drawn objects (say a line), after changing their layer does not default to layer's color, but instead are black. Any idea why SW would not put color in layer's color setting?!
I remember that being a bug. Seemed if you copy and paste in a duplicate note it sometimes works. If I remember correctly you might solve it by changing the font type in settings. Seems like the change of font style forces a software update and the issue goes away. Give it a try!
I kept getting distracted by the absolute banger music. Not often that a Solidworks tutorial feels entertaining haha.
Like seeing a giraffe in the street! Thanks for the comment

That’s common. The check triggers a program save. It’s a good work around for a bug like this.

So they can release a new version, charge another couple of grand and add it to the features list :D
This is a nice solution, is there any programmatic way to solve the issue?? Like if we want to work in C# or VBA?
You sure can! SOLIDWORKS is more VBA friendly and you can actually design parts with only programming so certainly it is an option.
Same issue but for note. This still work for dimension but not work for note. Any idea how to fix it?
