This is pure genius! To make an iconical vidoe like that without any budget. All this has been done before. Guerilla shooting videos, dancers that can't really dance, ... but this mixes all that - and it works perfectly. Every detail is so awesome. The clothes, the choreography, people, hairstyles, color, mood, atmosphere, ... everything fits perfectly and it fits the music. This can't be done better.
Just like to say, thanks for making a piece of my childhood. Back when I was a little toddler, my dad used to play all sorts of techno or early electronic music videos; Praise You and Firestarter are the two that I remember the most and are the first videos I ever remember. Thank for getting me into great music and thanks for a golden piece of childhood! Have an awesome day, good sir!!
@rossbmarvin3rd "had -some- fun"? FYI up until today there are literally 100's of covers, remixes, and dancegroups that are inspired by one of the most iconic works of art the 90's brought forward with this video. @mcgier, thanks a lot for your extended elaboration on the enigmatic background of the production, I really appreciate it! :)
That's pretty neat that the theater manger who got hopped on was a good sport about it afterwards you got to interview him. Also was that Fatboy Slim in the black button shirt laughing to right after the embraced?
+tonecot89 The theater manager wasn't happy at all. The only reason he left us alone was because the crowd kept yelling "let them dance." He was feeling pressure from the crowd to let us dance. But later when he found out we were doing a video and that he was now part of it, he was cool about it. Yes that is Fatboy Slim in the video at the end sticking his head between me and Spike Jonze.
