One of my fave songs from the 90’s! She’s just awesome 🙌🙌… she also helped Darryl McDaniels of RUN DMC find his mother when he found out he was adopted.. because so is she, & they are close friends. She’s pretty cool!
Sarah McLachlan got me through some very dark times in my life. I first heard this song in the series Due South, and I was hooked. Best female artist that I've ever heard live.
Yes Ty. The piano version was a hidden track. On her album Fumbling Toward Ecstacy. She was receiving letters from a stalker. To cope with it she wrote this song.
Yep, the last track, the hidden track. Was a popular thing to do in the early to mid 90's. Glad it's there though, cuz that version of the song makes you MELT.
Yes! And that guy from...a Country in Europe, tried to Sue her because of the Lyrics!🙄 He said that was all about him, and trying to connect with her. Well , Ofcourse She didn't get sued. Some time later...they found his body..He Committed Suicide! 🤔😶
'Mirrorball' is one of my 'go to' albums. Sarah McLachlan has unique and beautiful talent. Thank you for reacting to her: I wish more You Tubers would!
She had a whole song piano version. Just the way you wanted to hear it. It's actually an extra track on her cd but she does it that way in concert. She has both versions. Check out the piano version
If you ever want to hear a full piano version of it, purchase her album Fumbling Towards Ecstasy. The last track on the album, the title track, the piano version of Possession starts at the 5:47 mark.
Sarah is amazing. Saw her a couple of times at Lilith Fair in the 90s. You should react to her song "Good Enough". It's her best and the lyrics are intense imo. 💜
I've bought the Mirror Ball album 3 times. So many great tracks! Can play the whole thing through, great for sullen moods. Her voice is captivating,Stupid is a great one by her. Still asking for Patty Griffin,,God is a Wild Old Dog,sounds like blasphemy but it's not. It's about people abandoning God like they do dogs.
Oh listen to the album version. It’s super eerie and just the most amazing moody song AND there’s a hidden simple piano version on the album too. Its phenomenal!
The slow intro was from "Blue" a song by Sarah's idol Joni Mitchell. The words were mostly from letters that a fan/stalker sent her over years of his pursuit.
I think the singer to whom you were referring is another Canadian, Alanis Morissette. This is my favourite Sarah Mclachlan song, despite its dark and creepy roots. Another commenter laid it out about Mclachlan, when writing the song, was mirroring the sentiments of letters that were sent to her by a stalker. He tried suing her for plagiarism, but the suit eventually ended when he committed suicide.
Yes I was nodding along with you and I totally agree with you Ty, loved the beginning as she totally captured me. It was a great song, this is something that’s going onto my playlist.
Ok Ty now your reviewing a serious talent, Sarah Mclachlan is sooo talented I don’t think this track does her justice. Her CD Fumbling Towards Ecstasy has many incredible tracks on it. Sarah writes as well as performs her music.
The lyrics to this song are from the letters from her stalker. He was sentenced to prison for the lengths he went to in stalking her, but he committed suicide first. She managed to make an incredible song out of this horrifying situation. Courage and talent. ❤️
Listen to the original it's slow version Erie and it's not sped up. And the story behind the song makes it more Erie.. she had a stalker and he wrote a lot of this type of words in his letters to her then tried to sue her while in jail for stalking her breaking into her home then he eventually committed suicide.
There is a version somewhere on the ole youtube where she does this song completely just her and the piano. If I could find it again....ruclips.net/video/YO-R3Nx6LCo/видео.html
"In the Arms of the Angel" ?Find out *who* the "Angel" *really* is. Someone mentioned she was at Lilith Fair. Find out who Lilith *really* is. @ModernRenaissanceMan , we have been easily deceived.
She wasn’t AT Lilith Fair, she was there Creative force behind those shows from 1997 - 1999 and then in 2010. I’ve seen all of them and they’re amazing. I’ve also seen her in smaller venues just her and an opener, and she us Incredible there, too. Additionally, she does vocals on a song called Silence, which was in an album as a side project of Front Line Assembly. Silence is an insanely incredible song both musically as well as vocals / lyrics.
You're in luck! There IS a version with just her and a piano the whole song. And it's better than this one. It's a hidden track at the end of the Fumbling Toward Ecstasy album.
Not about rape, she was stalked by a mentally ill man. He wrote her very disturbing and threatening letters, saying what he would do to her. This song is her interpretation of his letters. He was on trial and ended up committing suicide.
@@cheryla7480 The end result of what he wanted to do was rape. "I would hold you down/kiss you so hard/I'll take your breath away" that's literally a rape fantasy.
My main criticism of thede singers is they slur and mumble their way through a song in order to sound alluring. For that reasom she is not a good singer.

Tori Amos and indigo girls were just as good live.
Same here! I heard this song on Due South and I've been a die-hard fan ever since. Even got to meet Sarah in 2014 in Atlanta, GA!
She won me over in 90's...wow! ❤
Haha same

@@sprybug The Beatles did it on Abbey road with the song Her Majesty. Way earlier than the '90s.
@@squaaaaak3178 Oh, I don't doubt it's happened before, but it was quite a 90's staple to include a hidden track. Lots of albums did it!

You dont have to be a music expert to realise that Sarah's vocals are truly out of this world. She makes sone divas sound like dogs.
Always loved the bass line on this song.

Sarah, Sarha, Sarah... I love You soooo much... Thank you always❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
So so so amazing. Love Sarah and I did get to see her during this time in concert.
One of my favs... thank you for not chopping the video up. Also check out the piano version she does. Its amazing.
The story behind this song is even more intriguing.
Love Sarah’s voice, when she sings just her and a piano that is sublime.
She had a whole song piano version. Just the way you wanted to hear it. It's actually an extra track on her cd but she does it that way in concert. She has both versions. Check out the piano version
This is my girl!! Amazing!! These songs take me back to both good & bad times in my life. Forever love! ❤️

Possession is a classic.
Sarah McLachlan Possession ( Later With Jools Holland version ) raw and emotional

Great song too.
Hey! So ..... You need to see the Live Mirrorball version of Fear. You'll melt.
"Time" ....another beautiful song from Sarah McClachlan
Dark backstory to these lyrics from a stalkers letters sent to her.
Should listen to the studio version. Make you cry!

That would be a Gaelic sound with the voice.

The radio stays in that slowish tempo more so than this.
Ok Ty now your reviewing a serious talent, Sarah Mclachlan is sooo talented I don’t think this track does her justice. Her CD Fumbling Towards Ecstasy has many incredible tracks on it. Sarah writes as well as performs her music.
If you want to hear the piano version watch her VH1 Story Tellers
There are live versions of this song where Sarah stays in the voice and piano only for the entire song.
4 for4 never heard this one either. Knew I wouldn't be disappointed though because she is a great artist.

In your little clips right there I noticed saint Paul and the broken bones couldn't tell which song it was you need to check out call me
Could you please react to Building a Mystery and Fallen by Sarah Mclachlan. Both music videos
Just Epic.
I'd love to see you do a reaction to her song Witness (track 6), from her album Surfacing (1997).
She wrote this song using letters a stalker had sent her .....before he could be convicted he committed suicide
There is a version somewhere on the ole youtube where she does this song completely just her and the piano. If I could find it again....ruclips.net/video/YO-R3Nx6LCo/видео.html
Canadian Treasure love Sarah check out Into the fire
Do one for ‘Do What You Have To Do’ from Mirrorball if you like that slow mysterious stuff.
If you want a completely slow version, with just her and a piano, this is as raw and ethereal as it gets.

Stalker claimed the song was word for word what he wrote to her saying what he will do to her.
Don’t know a lot about her, she is a good singer. But, that BGV singer is incredible!
Ok please please please she has an acoustic version and it’s totally stripped down and beautiful please I will subscribe
lol Alanis who ur trying to think of. guess a Canadian thing
