Thought that I loved the dining room red but you cannot beat Simply White for transforming a room to bright and beautiful. It really brought out all of the details of the room. I am so glad there is another human who does projects the way that I do...just jump in and see what happens! Ususally turns out well, just like your dining room and urns. My motto is, "Why wait, do it now?" I'm a southerner who has always dreamed of living in Maine. That looks like it won't happen but I can still enjoy New England vicariously through your adventures and projects. Thanks for bring us along with you.
Linda, I love the room light. The red was fine… but I love how you get an idea and jump on it. Well played and it looks beautiful! Bee balm acorns are another great idea. Everything is just coming along and I am thrilled you share your ideas with us. Nothing like a New England home with candles in the windows. Again, thank you for sharing.
The dining room looks great, so light and bright, and the crackling fire is terrific. I love that you have two cozy eating areas with such distinct personalities. What a great way to start my Saturday!
Bee balm acorns-great idea that I will use. The squirrels are faster than I am!!! I will also check out the battery candles for my windows. Love them large pumpkin on your table in the kitchen.
I love deep, colorful rooms...or THOUGHT I DID...until I saw how beautiful your "simply white" livingroom turned out so beautifully! Bravo, Linda! Your birthday gift was wonderful, so thoughtful...lots of fun for searching for treasures!
I love that you painted the room white! It really lets the floors be the star of the show in the room and adds so much more light and life! Love those candles too! What a great idea for the Beebalm!
I cracked up when you painted your pots black. I have the same ones and mine are black. I had taken your idea with grapevine wreath and pumpkins. Now I have the same look. ❤️
I love the new paint color! I purchased those candles about a year or two ago. I really like the way they look and I haven't had any problems with them. I keep them in my windows all year round. Very New England, I'm about 20 minutes from you.
I miss a crackling fire in the fireplace! It was so nice to hear and see today ! I did love the red room but it really brightens up the room now with the white ! I actually had thought a beautiful wall paper would have been nice in there when you said you might be painting it! Funny how a change of color can do so much ! The bee balm acorns is an ingenious idea ! Perfect !
What a wonderful video! Your bee balm project is something I would never have thought of but such a good alternative for real acorns. Your newly painted dining room looks so fresh and I loved the kitchen dining area with that beautiful chandelier. Your home is coming along nicely and is so cozy.
“That looks fabulous”. Beware though, of bringing outside plants inside. Sometimes mites come in with those and will start multiplying inside your home and then you could have an infestation. I used to do that, but no more. I absolutely love your new home. Your former one was gorgeous as well. I love the home and property. My kind of place. Love it. Great job. You have impeccable taste.
I laugh, every time...when you describe your unique, thinking and reasoning moments lol! I never knew anyone who thought and acted so similar...to me! Once, I decided, spur of moment, to paint my country farmhouse livingroom...cranberry red. My hubby was away on a two week work trip, so figured it was perfect time to do this messy project. Did a wall a night, after I came home from work...no primer. So....Each wall was taking FOUR coats...no problem, right? I was on the second coat, on the second wall, music playing, pizza nearby...phone rang. Hubby...grumpy. Told me his boss needed him to handle another work emergency...so he was flying red-eye flight, late that night! He sounded exhausted, frustrated...and I realized he would be walking into my "surprise" painting mess! So....I crazy painted ALL remaining three walls in "crazy painter" mode! I put candles in room's windows, cleaned up my messes...picked him up at airport late that night....and guided him past the room, as he wearily clomped up to bed. Lol! I took day off work next morning...and finished final touches on walls! Yep, sometimes I get myself into "Lucille Ball" moments. I also find myself doing things like...as I shop thrift...I cant resist...styling what is on shelves, if it is jumbled up. Been told I have mild OCD...by my psychologist brother-in-law. I just think of it as "me, being me..." YOU are wonderful, honest, funny, original, artistic, very talented, Linda! LOVE YOUR STYLE!
You sound like such fun. I was energetic in my younger years and did similar projects. I am a retired interior designer and worked till 72 years old just in time to have health problems at 75 years old and have lived all the exciting projects thru Linda. She supersedes me ten fold (even when I was her age I did 25 % of her projects but did do them.) I really admire every talented trait that she possesses.Take care from another Mary in Naples Florida who once was a lower New Englander.
@@maryjanegrosclaude1913 You sound like kind of neighbor, and friend, I would love to visit with! Boy, would we have fun! I am recouperating from triple- bypass ...and been fighting off leukemia for 3 years now...just after I retired, too!
The whole time I’m reading this I’m thinking, yeah, Yeah, YEAH! I have a few of those stories, and they usually end up with him griping then he will say, Huh, I kinda like it……everytime
I love everything you've done! Also, every time you say, "I know I said I wasn't going to [insert project description here], but...", just redub that with an East Texas accent, and it's me! :) Kindred spirits, indeed.
The white is brighter and looks great but I did like the red also, as you did. Nice job. I ordered 3 sets of the candles. I have singles and some have 3 candles on them in larger windows but they are plastic all over and use C and D batteries. Makes them heavy and more expensive to buy plus I keep them in the windows year round. Thanks for sharing.
Hello Linda the white walls reminds me of the dinning room at Groton house. Looks nice! Last year you had the candles in the windows. Last yr I purchased from Target battery power ones. They are fake gold, bronze and pewter. You can set them for auto they are on 6 to 8 hrs. They were about $5.50 each. The yard is looking good. I know a lot of work. Hope you received your birthday card.
I love the color of your room! I loved the red but the white is so classic and fits that room ❤️! The candles are beautiful and have my Mother’s home now and her candles we kept in the windows. I am going to look into the ones you purchased. You can use Museum wax from Amazon to keep them in the windows secure. It helped us so much and it also helps with other things my Standard Poodle and German Shepherds like to bump into lol! Please keep sharing. I am repainting and taking off wallpaper at my Mom’s house and this gives me so many ideas. 🕯 God Bless.
Oh Linda your rooms are just beautiful. Painting the room white made all the difference. I bet when you walk in there in the mornings with the morning light I know it is just a pleasure to see. Just love it.
I like the white walls better than the red. Opens up the room. I collected real acorns, semi dried them in the oven and I got worms all over the place. Tossed them out!! Bought the artificial acorns from Crate and Barrel and I am very happy with them. I like the idea of painting the Bee Balm.
Oooh! Your room came out beautiful, although I am one of the ones that did like the red too! Thanks for the cute craft, I have used acorn caps on little wool balls and also on Autumn colored pom pom balls you can buy at a craft store, so much fun to display! Love your videos, can't wait for more!!!
I wiped my pumpkins down with bleach… they’re still perfect. We have several deer living behind us and my husband chops them up for the animals, so we have to wash the bleach off beforehand. I cut the dried heads of black eyed Susans. Yikes! Even after they were sprayed they dropped like crazy. Amazon also sells the battery candles for anyone who wants them…they are great! Your home is an inspiration, I catch every one posted.
New to the channel. You have wonderful taste. However, I am certainly outnumbered when I say I liked the red dining room. Added warmth and character. To each’s own. I’m looking forward to the “ white” trend taking a turn. Best wishes.
Spraying the Urns black complimented the front of your home. The room looks so much more spacious, warm, inviting feeling. What a clever idea using beebalm to replicate acorns. Beautiful!
Beautiful❤... Love watching your channel you always have awesome ideas, and inspiration...I bought an urn several years ago from a consignment shop called Fifi's in Southern Pines(Aberdeen area) in NC...It is cast iron and I usually paint it flat black, but earlier in the year my youngest daughter bought me an out door lantern cast iron as well, and my neighbor painted it for me because it was a ivory beige color. So, he painted it semi-gloss black the same as you used for the light. So, I painted my urn semi-gloss as well as all my outdoor Yard lanterns, and cast iron yard figures.... Thank you for sharing you have exquisite taste love all your homes and all you share with your you tube friends!!! Have a blessed and fabulous fall season😊🧡💛🤎🧡💛🤎😊
And, I meant to say your urn...lol. My neighbor painted the light my daughter bought me semi-gloss as well , and I painted my urn like yours semi-gloss...Thsnks again for share your ideas, and awesome inspiration😊
The paint color choice in the dining room is nice. The black urns are more beautiful painted black. The remote controlled battery operated brass window candles are very pretty. Thank you for sharing.
Looking wonderful, I love the candles.I bought the ones in 6 pack ,a little taller and put them in my brass candle sticks.I distressed the candles with a dry brush application of burnt umber they look great ,thanks.Happy Thanksgiving.
I bought window candles from Amazon that have a sensor and come on at dusk and off at dawn. Also battery. Just an FYI. YOUR HOME IS WONDERFUL! Such fun watching your journey
Hi Linda, everything looks great, your videos are inspiring great ideas with the acorns, you all are lucky getting snow we haven't gotten any moisture in 3 months it's so dry here (Oklahoma Panhandle) we had a fire northwest of town some residents had to evacuate their homes it was finally contained but they did stay overnight just to keep an eye out thank God for the firemen and residents that helps out. Your puppy looked so cute with the reindeer antlers lol. Have a Merry Christmas to you and your.
Looks beautiful - your touches make it that way! Seeing your vision come to life is exciting. What fun to make this grand home all yours. Your acorns are adorable - so is Willow scampering by your side. TFS. Have a great weekend.
I really enjoy your channel Linda. I always look forward to what your are doing next. Sugarwood sounds so quaint. It makes me want to read a book… Ann of green gables or something! Lol! Thanks for all u share!

I love that fireplace, it pops better with the White, so Cozy!
The white paint is light and bright. The fire is so cozy.
When I saw the notification, I stopped reading the digital articles I was on and happily hopped over to see the haps at Sugarwood! 😍🌸✌🏽💕
I loved the room red. Everything is white these days and I must be the only one left who loves color. It's still beautiful in white too.
You’re not alone and I liked it red too, but I have a whole house plan. I might be adding red in another space like we did in Groton 😉
Wow! What a difference! So much better, bigger and airy,
The white is so much more peaceful and sophisticated. Great choice.
Your home 🏡 is warm, cozy with lots of character.

Love your beautiful New England home!!!
Love it all! I too have flickering candles with a remote timer. They are wonderful. My hubs even says so.
Love the candles in the window. I have candles in my windows on all year long. So welcoming.
