In Biblical Symbology Water is the Word of God and a Woman is symbol of religion (can be good or evil). Her end is highly symbolic and satisfying on all sorts of levels.
She's shown to be shedding a single tear throughout the movie during intense scenes. I think in this moment she is also shedding a tear but you can't see it because she is under water, like tears in the rain.
Brilliant, well thought-out scene. Were it not for her extreme brutality, the audience might have sympathy for the slender woman in a physical fight to the death with a larger man. But Sylvia Hoeks is like a demon here, an ideal villain. All players who made this scene were exceptional and added a lot to the ending of this movie.
I think Harrison Ford and Sylvia Hoeks gave the two greatest performances in "Blade Runner: 2049" (2017). I find Rutger Haur gave the best performance in "Blade Runner" (1982), which is one of my favorite films.
@@smit4459 I was in awe of Roy Batty when I was a kid watching that film. I had never seen anyone like that in real life before and was terrified and bewildered by the character. Haur was a genius.
Any sane female won’t mind the honesty. A man is thrice as strong as a woman, this is not patriarchy, this is biology. This is the reason we have male boxing, mma and female boxing. They both can’t compete with eachother
I bet you’re desperate for a situation where you can put this to the test huh? Also the strength regular humans can exhibit is kind of irrelevant considering they’re both androids. If it were down to this then the movie would have lasted 5 mins after Morton crushes K due to being about twice his size 🤷♂️ He wins cause he catches her completely by surprise and uses the environment to his advantage. Both the times he tried to take her head on he gets his ass handed to him because she’s technically a superior model. He however, is designed to kill other androids, has experience on his side and takes advantage of her arrogance.
They're both bioengineered humans lmao. This is not a fight between a regular man and woman. I like how she's the more superior model and therefore arrogant ("I'm better!"), and when he kinda gets what's "coming to him" similar to how he killed old replicants, he's able to fight for what he finds to be a miracle. Taking on what he took from the Nexus model in the beginning. He was human for a moment and it was enough to help who he briefly thought was a father.

I mean you are also right but that's the way it is and it's our human nature to watch these I mean billions of people found joy in it and if you don't know thousands years ago when gladiators would tear their limbs and limbs from part to part that was also a satisfaction for them and I think this is the reason 🥲

She was completly submerged, it’s not natural to try to kick the groin part. The real movement when someone is strengly you with one hand is to use both hands and crack his fingers.
@@icarojose6316 u must be dumb. Any woman will tell you, when in a serious conflict with a guy who is much bigger and stronger, the groin and eyes is the first place they go for. Its just common sense
They fought before that, this was the last moments of the fight. When she slowed her guard thinking she killed him. (She stapped him in the belly prior to this moment)
... I've watched this brilliant scene quite a few times now and it's just occurred to me as to why 'Luv' didn't just go for 'Deckards' meat and two veg... or 🍒🍆 😆
They were both wounded. She, despite being designed for finesse and speed, was completely outside of her element when having to fight underwater against another replicant who had the advantages of superior brute strength AND something to die for.
Luv is fast and sly with a knife and K is just brutally powerful.
This scene is brilliance! Having her elevated and strangling her, then submersing her, having her last view looking up. The metaphor of the water.

K had the arms for taking out other replicants .....even LUV
This movie was an absolute masterpiece
Yes, it was way better than expected. I thought they would ruin it, like so many of the modern sequels and remakes.

I can get behind this opinion.
What do you mean Dude?
I mean I agree.
I just wanted a confirmation. I originally pressumed that was the case Dude.

Such a powerful scene.... the shot from Luv's perspective of Joe holding her below the water is brilliant. Literally suffocating the demon
Track "Sea Wall" used throughout this sequence......
Best tune in it
The sound design in this movie was SO GOOD. 🤌🏻
I agree. Very crispy.

Don’t be a white knight … men are far superior to a simple woman. Just don’t say it too them. Lol cause Puss y power trumps all in the end

i wish they would have added the end scene with Deckard in Ks coat at the end standing on the shore
Single hand execution
Denis Villeneuve puts on a great show.
He always do it ❤

Why did he drown her ?
@Faceman Gaming shh, don't spoil it for him! Lol
she wouldnt kiss him twice.
He asked her to marry him, and she said « no, my crush is Ryan Gosling, I would never put him down »
FANTASTIC
I believe Luv is designed to Love K, as Decker is designed to love Rachel. She could have killed K she held back.
Its easy way to kill enemy in water, even he/enemy could hold a breath and dive but in the end who the strongest in the water lols 🤣
