  • Well, with the new year under way, it's time to take a look back at what was 2015. It's been a bit of a weird year, what with the troubles faced by main line steam, due to the whole controversy surrounding the West Coast Railway Company. On the heritage line side of things though, things have been a little bit brighter, with some absolutely top events held over the course of the year. As with every year, 2015 saw its fair share of locos returning to service, such as; 6412, 34027 'Taw Valley', 46100 'Royal Scot', 73082 'Camelot' and 7802 'Bradley Manor'. The year also saw a number of locos bowing out of service heading in for overhaul, including; 4464 'Bittern', 35028 'Clan Line', 3850, 4160, 60007 'Sir Nigel Gresley' and 850 'Lord Nelson'.
Some particular highlights in 2015 include: 61306 'Mayflower' returning to the mainline for the first time since the 1970s, 6960 and 4936 on 12 coaches on the West Somerset Railway, the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway's 'Speed to the West' gala, starring 34092 'City of Wells', 46100 Royal Scot's return to service on the Severn Valley Railway during September, and later mainline test run near the end of December, 4965 Rood Ashton Hall's more frequent use outside of the Shakespeare Express and the Severn Valley's superb 'Manor 50' event in November.
It's been an interesting year, with its fair share of ups and downs. But I can safely say, 2016 is looking to be a good'un!
I'd like to take this moment to thank everyone who watched and supported my videos throughout the year and, of course, all those involved with the restoration and running of those beautiful beasts that we adore so much, and the railways they run on. Without whom, none of this would be possible. Happy New Year to you all.
    Thank you.

Hey, great video! Really good footage of what's left of these amazing machines but I am still confused. Do the Coaches have motor's in them or is that something only done in today's trains?

Only power is locomotive at front. No propulsion on coaches.
