  • We caught up with this awesome 1964 Chevy Nova at the Quick 30 race in Houston, Texas. It's really great to see a classic car like this being used. It wasn't the fastest car racing but it was definitely one of the coolest.

Oh, that's a mighty nice car. I've always loved the 64 Nova simple styling, and with the stock 406, it had snort!!!

It's not a "restored" Nova - it's more of a modified - the typical Chevy 2 shock absorber mounts in the engine compartment are missing - sign of modification. Aside from that - it's a nice Nova but my preference nowdays is to have a good ol' 62-65 Nova with the very reliable 194/230 6 cyl engine with 3 speed manual trans. I'd drive it as a daily driver - most appealing of this car is no electronic crappola to fix - the fuel pump is bolted on engine block - not in the freeping gas tank. The early Novas were the best economical cars GM built (my opinion). I used to have a 1967 Nova SS having factory 327 engine - it was a very bad ass car but liked to consume lots of gasoline. My older brother had sold it without asking me - I was forever pissed he did that (it was in a shop we had built for working on our cars).
