I hadn't really paid attention to boxing for a few years and my brother introduced me to Naoya Inoue. That WBSS Final against Nonito Donaire is one of the best fights I have ever seen in a Boxing ring.
That 4 boxer you talk about .if usualy Maximum Basic boxing skill has 10 level. All of them have basic skill point in 100 😂😂😂. They dont skip any basic boxing class
Inoue has made the body shot, particularly to the liver, such a lethal weapon that it's curious why more boxers don't use it like that. A high number of his KOs have come from those lethal body shots. I've even seen him throw nothing but body shots once he's hurt an opponent, just completely ignoring the head...like he's really enjoying digging into the liver and causing suffering. His knockout of Donaire (yes, it was a KO but the lame ref let Donaire get back up after the 10 count, and after allowing Donaire to run around unmolested looking for a place to hide and lay down) was a classic example of his body-snatching manoeuvre. When he got Donaire stationed against the ropes, he threw a right upper cut that Donaire instinctively raised his arms to defend. And as soon as those arms went up Inoue immediately threw that beautiful left hook to the body and ruptured Donaire's liver. Yes, Donaire also beat the monster up pretty good himself (one of the greatest contests of will and skill I've since the Ali-Frazier days), but after the fight you could see Donaire was sitting slumped over on his chair still in pain. He could barely get up to make it for the decision announcement. That was one of those fights where you felt both great fighters deserved to win.
Another Fearsome Factor is his jab. He doesn't throw just to fluster. He throws it to destroy. There's a reason why Naoya is known to have one of the hardest jabs in the sport aside from fighters like Oscar Valdez, Golovkin or Deontay Wilder.
Great vid, we truly have a golden nugget of a YT coach. Some of the things he says may get overlooked but are priceless, such as not requiring too much power for effective body punching, just correct placement of the punches. And regarding a wider stance to get in and out more effectively and the front foot stance of Inoue which can be utilised for distance deception and setting traps - the whole video in fact. Keep up the great great work and a happy New year to you and your family Fran.
This is a great video breaking down a boxers fighting characteristics and opening the eyes of the viewers to little things we may not notice and also the reasons why the boxer does those things. I would love to see this kind of video continue on with the '5 fearsome factors' of other fighters past an present, whether they be big names or just boxers that do things a bit different to the norm. Informative, educational as well as entertaining.
Thanks for the video coach. Inoue has been an inspiration to me and I've been trying to learn and possibly mimick his style. This video helps a lot in just that.
I like Potatoes Ok Ok 2 years three years picking at words here...I’ve lived in Asia over 20 years and am an ex boxer...I’ve been familiar with him since his start as I follow that the Thai, Pinoy and Japanese scenes more than any other...I just put 2 years for the main stream of boxing conscience. He’s only been P4P in western eyes around two years...until this year he was still left off many experienced people’s P4P lists.
Inoue has thrown i think my favourtie combo ever, it was the combo he used to finish Luis nery, my god! left hook, right uppercut, right straight, the left and uppercut were almost throw aways, and in the process of him scrambling nerys brain with the first 2 punches, he didnt even see the right straight even tho he was right infront of it, the combo is thrown so loose and fluid, the right even has half a second delay, just for perfect timing! the right isnt even thrown hard, just perfect and he crumbles him with pure timing and technique! Beautiful combo to watch!
Call me crazy but I think he may have a karate foundation. Everything from his stance to his straight punches out of range seems like what my nephew does in karate competitions.
In fairness to Donaire for a 37 year old he gave Inoue one hell of a fight. Would love to see Frampton before he hangs up the gloves fight Inoue, think it would be a great match up. Cheers 👊🙏
Fran, I could listen to your analysis all day. As another person commented , it would be good if you could break down other fighter past and present. I look forward to these videos
Hi coach, Ive watched the battle against Nonito Donaire and have a question for you. I saw Naoya a couple of times being caught with a counter right straight when he threw his fearsome elongated left jabs. I think that the elongated jabs is a risk because he could not cover his left chin with a shoulder tilt. Am I correct in this? But I also think that these kind of counters must be fired out almost at the same time as the attacking jab, right? Is this a good recommendation technique against somebody's left jabs? Do we also have to slip the jab by moving our head a little bit to the left when we deliver the counter right straight?
I liked what you said about manipulating your opponent’s guard in combinations. However, is there a way I can manipulate someone in the Philly shell? When I punch, it’s hard to find openings in their centerlines and flanks mentioned in the video. I have to wait on them to try to counter and use that as my offense. I have to counter their counter. Please, if there’s a way to manipulate their guard as mentioned in the video, tell me.
Aldo Krasniqi He’s a lighter fighter, and on top there’s no massive household names for him to fight. There’s good fights to be set up but there’s no big competition.
Lol u know the answer, he getting his head knocked off for good this time.. I know u see it happening. Fury can only dance so long before he get hit with lightning 💪🏾
Great videos Fran, Thank you. Joe Louis signature combinations was a right uppercut followed by left hook to knock out a lot of his opponents. Happy New year 👊🙏
+Frans Sands Hi, I saw another vid on youtube that stated Fury has fast feet because he has a narrow stance and that Wilder has less mobility because of his wide stance, is that the opposite to what you`re saying here or did I misunderstand that vid?
I think what Fury does with his upper body (lots of feints and triggers) and his appreciation of range are his real traits of success Mark, not particularly his feet. His stance is quite narrow, he may benefit from varying that from time to time.
@@myboxingcoach Yes thanks, I`ve seen studies on Fury, he`s pretty impressive but I`m glad he ditched his trainer and went over to Kronk, what a great historyKronk has.
Don't forget factor no. 6: the best timing in boxing. That wasn't as evident in Inoue's last fight, but he was coming up against a seasoned vet who is also a monster at 118. How about a video on Crawford? He's the only one left of the top three and another monster!

Fran, you think Naoya Inoue would wreck a heavier bulky dude in a street fight? I'm not talking about a boxer, but let's say a gym rat that is 6'2, 250+ pounds ?
@@Caarnicero why? Usually fighting experts advise a body shot, and advise against a shot the face, becase the hand isn't protected when you hit the bones.
