Haven't listened to this song in years. I was watching a "Frankie Drake Mystery" on PBS, and there was a line in it about the male character being a king and making the female character his queen. My brain was whispering to me, "there's a song you with words like that.” Finally, with a bit of concentration, I realized it was "The Land of Might-Have-Been." What a divinely beautiful, bittersweet, and oh so hopeful love song! It's a wonderful song that you can actually sing, unlike today's so-called songs. You can feel the passion in your heart, which just bursts with every word and note. Ivor Novello composed some wonderful music, and obviously the British think so, too, as they present the Ivor Novello awards for songwriting and composing ever since 1956. I’d love to hear some other singers and even choruses perform this song ♥️
