- What a dream run! Vindi and I earned a perfect score in our AKC Novice B debut at our obedience club's fall trial. That meant 200 pts, First Place, High in Trial, and High-Scoring Club Member. Total magic!

I am totally blown away by that performance... Having said that, I recently rescued a 1-yr. old female Malinois. I'm currently working on her socialization and obedience. Many years ago, I achieved an OTCH on one of my German Shepherds, and she was a great performer... However, I would appreciate it if you could suggest where I may attend an obedience seminar that would help me to have my new girl focus like your dog does. Thank You, Mano Avila
Hi Mano - Thank you!!! And thanks for rescuing a Malinois girl. Also, congrats on that OTCH w/your GSD, too - what an achievement! For a place to learn about that focus - check out Denise Fenzi's online school fenzidogsportsacademy.com. Denise, Shade Whitesel, Petra Ford and Julie Flannery are some of the instructors to look for. They all have seminars from time to time to look for, too.
Denise has 4 books (available on Amazon) on things like Focus, Play, and Engagement that are the best-written instructive items I've ever seen. Julie Flannery just released an excellent book on heeling, too. I have no financial interest in any of these people or that school, but I've learned from them all (and from others from years past. But these people are my current favorites.) If you live in New England, I can give you some local recommendations, too.

@@sarahsherman4514 LOL! I may never get another 200 again, but this one felt so good. Signals is SUCH a tough exercise. Sorry I missed your run on Sunday - perhaps at another trial? Come over and say hi!
@@shepherddogs do u do other dogs sports too? I do IGP with my shepherd. Might be entering the trials at masterpeace coming up, we lived in Middleboro
@@sarahsherman4514 I did IGP (Schutzhund, back then) w/my GSDs. Then trained my first Malinois for French Ring, but he hurt his back/had to stop right after we got his CSAU. Then the club dissolved. :( So Vindi and I went on to comp obed, Rally, and Nosework. Did a little informal dock diving, too. Hope to see you at Masterpeace!
