Forgot to mention it in the video, but if you are interested I can go over modules for Aim Practice as well, which is different to Warm Up! Let me know if you would be interested. (Like this comment)
The content you are putting out is not only never seen before in this scene but also extremely enriches the community and our perspective about the game and the pro scene. Keep it up
You talk about warming up for CS which I never do but definitely should if I had the ambition to be as good as I could however having grinded Starcraft 2 ladded like a madman years ago I think you could do another video on another super important topic for people who really want to play their best. That is watching and analysing your own matchs replays, nobody does it because it takes a lot of time to analyze each game but if you do that after a few weeks you will break the glass ceiling for sure, everytime you do a mistake or lose you have to stop and try to understand exactly what you could have done better and the different ennemy team behavior patterns, hugely underrated habit to have and you bet ALL the pros do it.
In college when I would warm up for fencing completions I had good physical warm up routines but I also had mental ones. If I had low energy I would play music that hyped me up, jumping around, beating my chest, and talking to myself about how I was going to win. If I was high energy and jittery I would play calming music and visualize clean movements to help me calm down and focus. These really helped my mental when fencing in a competitive setting and I'm sure it would be helpful in any competitive setting.
Banger video, warmup is so essential, 1. for consistency, 2. for muscle memory. Helps loads over the years, especially exactly before an official/important match
I do Arms Race as my Hybrid Warmup option. I find it way more fun than deathmatch and using different guns adds a new practice element. I don't do physical warmup (although I really, REALLY should.) However, I did take up rock climbing last year and it has done wonders for reducing RSI-related pain for me.
It's been a while since i played CS but when i gotthis video on my feed it just lit the fire again. STYKO is the GOAT for puting out all this content showing us bts for the pro players. I love these videos so much.
Thanks for the content again Martin! What about making a video about your physical warm up as well? Seems like there are some new exercises I have never heard about
Great video Styko! What would you recommend for getting better at movement? Warming up already good movement on only up and surfing is good for people who already have better movement mechanics. What would you do to improve mechanics?
Awesome content...I wish I had found you earlier! Thank you for all the effort applied to this channel (and your career)! About the video, I found the exact same "aimbotz", "spray control" and "only up" maps, but I couldn't find the first mention... Was is its name? The one with the bots running towards you?
Hey STYKO. Really want to see the video of what you do in that spray map when you stay away from the game for a long time. It'll probably be short, but helpful
Play DM, play on a bot training map, throw some nades, play Wingman, play a comp game, then start Prem or Faceit. Also bhopping and surfing is good to warm up movement or get more fluid with movement.
Styko, I will give you some advice. Try setting one white balance on your camera. There are a lot of switches between the two (cold and warm) in your video. Cheers!
For me I noticed that DM FFA actually stress me more than helps me to warm up... I got a routine like 10 min AIM bots for muscle memory and to get into the pace, then I jump straight to Duels and play around 10 - 15 min ( around 150 - 200 Kills ) and I found myself way more ready to play instead going to warm up and being dying all the time from behind or beside cause of those warmups stupid respawns... I dunno, even the regular cs DM for me works better than the other DM FFA warmups.
This might sound stupid. But regarding the physical warmup. Would playing darts be a nice alternative since it does focus on wrist, arm and shoulder ? If so it might be a more enjoyable warmup. At least I found it enjoyable to play a round or two before actually hopping onto practice maps/ servers, seeing an improvement on my side and not having cold hands anymore. Would love an answer and appreciate it in advance ! ❤
I plan to do that. Just raw, full duration, unedited warmup that I do pretty much every day. Not really for content purposes but for others to get inspired and see how I do it. Sometimes I do these sessions on my twitch live stream, so feel free to check that out, too :D
Surfing works on some maps. If the map has straight surframps which dont "bend" its gonna work fine like surf_kitsune for example. Its still shit but those maps are playable at least :)
Good to know, thanks. I played on few servers surf_kitsune, and it was annoying to get stopped randomly, but maybe the server was not that great. If you have ip where you surf, share it with us here :D
I never warm up, I am usually warmed up by the 2nd round of my first match. However physical exercise, whatever it is does help to play better, especially if you always plays CS2 stoned XD
Lock white balance on your videos. The room goes from white to blue. If you're recording on an iphone just use black magic camera app to lock focus / white balance etc.
what servers are good for dm'ing now? i used to play on warmupservers in GO but those servers seem to be completely dead now, i never see any pros or anyone else on there anymore like i used to in GO. would constantly see people like twistzz, ropz, rain, etc playing on there so im curious where they all went, or if people are just doing workshop maps now since the servers arent all fully functional yet.

Think KZ is better to warmup your movement and get the blood flowing within the hands. However if you wanna do any of the movement modes in CS. It’s better to do it on CSGO instead of CS2. Movement community got screwed in CS2.
used to warmup in kz maps and bhop maps, there's only a few good bhop maps ported to cs2 and sadly absolutely no kz map that I'd say is good for warmup that has been ported. Only ported kz maps is you take 4 jumps and then LONGJUMP and all the time it's just a longjump map, annoying. Wish someone would make kz maps like back in the good old cs 1.6 days
thanks mr. t1n, very informative! I make my deathmatch fun by hunting down [legends] with silly or inferior weapons and screenshoting it. see you on mirage23 soon! >:3
I started to warm up vs bots little bit since then i got from 30% hs average to 70%,, i cant spray but my mouse is always on headshot level nowdays which is nice + i love scout cause i always headshot people most of time so if we need hold mid i flick to their head super often
His Aimlab routine: 5 minutes of VT 2T WIDE POKEBALL 5 minutes of CG ADJUST CLICK MICRO 5 minutes of VT SWAYTRACK SMOOTH Followed by 15 minutes of FFA DM.
I feel like community servers have been so dead since cs2, i used to always get in the same dm every arvo and it was full 22 players. theres hardly servers that have 5 - 10 players these days. idk what it is, where is everyone dming. xplay retakes have been alr but no 1v1 maps of execute maps ive seen either.
Pretty bad idea. Wingman is incredibly slow paced. For the 10 minutes game you can average, what, 15 kills? Doesn’t seem like a good warmup for time invested.

True. At least actively thinking about warm up and trying things out are steps forward. And as you said, it compounds...
And rewatching your own match replays is what will make you break ceiling bruv
Muscle memory is not a thing with aiming

I miss free prefire maps like yprac...
Refrag is great tool that has there prefire modes. I know a lot of pros play those, so I can recommend it and give it a try.

What is the exact name of the "csgo hub" aim map for cs2 ? It was my favorite in csgo, but I cant find it now.

I play on Mirage 21 by WarmupServers and it’s always full. Most of the time there are other [PRO] or [LEGEND] players present, too.
