this is one of my favourite songs that I probably cannot find anywhere else. 20 years and still they are around today! Horror punk as they are today, all the best
I believe the original tracklist can be found on Jade's blog and the official AFI website. They say the new CD, at this rate, will be out before the EP though.
No, the album isn't released yet. Carcinogen Crush was on the Guitar Hero III soundtrack, and Ether was released on the new NASCAR game's website, as it will be on the soundtrack.
AFI have changed alot over the years, the thing with music and anything creative is that you cant just keep making material with the same method as it just gets boring and personal breakthroughs are never made, its neccesary for a band to evolve, whether it be for better or worse to satisfy their own creativity.
i hope afi, as usual, mixes up their style on the next album. i am pretty sure it will not be a rehash of anything before, they never make the same album twice. they are definitely one of the best bands of the last 20 years!
allegedly Blaqk Audio was a completely unrelated project to AFI, but I think a lot of it bled into Decemberunderground and that is what made it so different. It was just way too mainstream compared to their other albums. Crash love is completely different like every afi album has been in succession. each one of their 8 albums is different from the next and previous and that is what makes AFI so good, they evolve and grow into a more amazing band with each note they play.
They've gotten much better musically, but not even that...all their albums are different from the one before, which just shows growth in creativity and thought. Rock on AFI
@helloieatchicken: I started in 2003 when I heard Sing the Sorrow. My favroite AFI albums are Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground, and I've listened to all their albums. I love the atmosphere of those albums.
@atroxomega considering i discovered AFI by listening to Days of the phoenix in 2001.. its very hard to find new bands arising globally in Australia, so i didnt think much of them then.. untill love like winter was on an Australian TV music channel. i became to really appreciate Decemberunderground.. and the music was amazing.. i dont hate one single song by AFI.. theres just so much more depth in decemberunderground that on a music level is really awesome...
The video at the beginning of the song, from that Warped Tour thing on FUSE ummm I've been looking for that entire AFI section of that video like whoa. I think it was a countdown of "what to see at warped tour" or "warped tour staples" or somthing, but anyways I'd love it if you uploaded the entire thing, or told me where to find it. =) oh and the song is amazing.
Oh gosh.Anything AFI has done,I absolutely love it.There isn't a thing to hate about AFI.They're fucking awesome. And so what about their fans?As long as you're a fan of them, you're awesome. They're my favorite band.Straight,by the way.And wtf is up with Davey's hair?I mean,it's great,I'm just used to...Different.I liked his long hair, personally.
@FetidFetusXYY If you want to buy it, it's MAC. I don't remember the exact name, but it will be easy to pick out of the shadows. They don't (that) have many pink ones.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, in what way is STS a musically weak album? From a guitar, bass, drums, programming perspective its their best album to date. The guitar on every song is several tracks deep with a bunch of different parts and really creative lead and rhythm choices. The bass is simply amazing in that it is fast and crazy but never distracts and the drums are a great mix of punk and rock.
The opening video is old. When he was with Blaqk Audio, he ditched the make-up and cut his hair off to a slight devil lock (think Days of the Phoenix video with shorter bangs). Jade mentioned in his blog a possible buzz cut, so I think that they're changing their image to something more tame, grown up, and less "emo" since that whole fad has died down a lot
lolz. Hunter is funny at 1:17. Hes chillin. XD 2:24 this picture is awesome. Im gonna miss their screams and shouts like in the old AFI days, but the new songs are awesome too. At least in a different way. =D
take into account that sing the sorrow was the first album with a producer's influence. I believe everything before that was more expressive of themselves. Now they're just trying to attain some sound rather than express themselves.
agreed, Black Sails is in my Top 5 albums of all time. Which includes metallicas justice, misfits walk among us, radiohead ok computer, clash's 1st album
everything up til crash love has been AWESOME i got it the other day and there are only a few good ones on there they need to go back and use there old sound
Why would something that was recorded in the DU era be in Crash Love? We don't know for sure when Crash Love is coming out because AFI is always changing their minds.
like the guitar work!!!!! i cant wait for the new afi album, even though they are not punk anymore, which i really do miss, they are still a great band! one of the only true original bands going today, and of course daveys voice is incredible, the guy has so much range it is impossible!
To every "this sounds like girls not grey" post, this song was written during the production of Sing the Sorrow and was one of the many tracks that they wrote and recorded that never made it to the album... IT IS AN EXTRA, IT IS NOT NEW, IT IS ONE OF THE SONGS THAT OTHERWISE WOULD BE LOST TO MEDIOCRITY.
Dudes just because AFI has changed musically and have meaning to their lyrics doesn't make them emo its makes them a better band, they've grown up get over it... and if you don't like the music why are you listening to it! Don't go bagging on these bands. You have your music and we have ours. You don't have to like it you just have to accept that it is out there for the rest of us to enjoy like your music is out there for you to enjoy.
Am i the only one who loves Black sails In the Sunset DecemberUnderground and Crash love equally? i actually love DU more then the rest.. But stil God called in sick today is there best song. Wish more people were like that :(
I jst lol'd. If u think they are emo then u have the last 2 albums. If you care...!!.... youd have all 6 or 7 and all the eps and single since half of them have diff unreleased songs on them. And then youd know they grown with talent and style and still only have under a handfull of radio edits!!!! ( most likly due to record labels ) PS thanks for the song. gd to hear they are still growing!!
i have to say i didnt really like decemberunderground because it seemed like it was cut out of something other than afi but this gives me a lot more hope
i love afi and everything, i think they are a very very good band i love the work they do BUT! doesnt the beginning of this song remind u of girls not grey? the beginning sound familiar. i love them so much!!
yazhavok eres lo mejor!!!!si no fuera por mi amiga del msm YAZHAVOk nunca ubiese visto esta nueva cancion wow!! me gusta aunk lo discutimos bien y es parecida a girls not grey ,,, espero su opinion afi forever thank you so much YAZHAVOk
People who miss the "old" 2006 style need to take a good look at the BACK catalog. Out of all the AFI albums, when we play "one of these things is not like the others?" Decemberunderground is the glaring sore thumb. I'd rather hear Crash Love a thousand times than listen to one song that MADE it to Decemberunderground.
@MrToiletclogger My problem isn't with you calling the songs weird, it's that you think that no music by AFi before decemberunderground was any good apparently, and that's just not true. They didn't suddenly get good with DU, they've been an amazing band the whole time. Just discounting 10+ years of Afi's music by calling it "boring and repetitive" is my problem.
I wish AFI would just put all the obscure songs never properly released from the past 10 years and put it on one CD...or a playlist.
NASCAR 09 many memories
Nascar 09 throwback
*NASCAR 09!!*
old times!
Yeeeeeehhh
I completely forgot about this song! Such good memories 😭
this is one of my favourite songs that I probably cannot find anywhere else. 20 years and still they are around today!
Horror punk as they are today, all the best
Nascar 09 Nostalgia
I believe the original tracklist can be found on Jade's blog and the official AFI website. They say the new CD, at this rate, will be out before the EP though.
I love this- it has a lot of elements from their old stuff, Black Sails or even back to Shut Up, combined with their newer sound
Awesome song! Intro kinda reminds me of Girls Not Grey.
Yeah - when I listened to this song for the first time, I could hear it too. double pace verse, single pace chorus.
If I remember, I think that's why it was left off the album. Forgot what interview that was said on
No, the album isn't released yet. Carcinogen Crush was on the Guitar Hero III soundtrack, and Ether was released on the new NASCAR game's website, as it will be on the soundtrack.
Best AFI song I haven't heard!

Thanks for posting this! Bummer I don't live in Japan...

man im in love with this song, they may have changed a bit but it doesnt matter C:
i will always be a fan! CANT WAIT TILL THE NEW ALBUM!
Im Glad to see they are going back to the older AFI sound.
They've gotten much better musically, but not even that...all their albums are different from the one before, which just shows growth in creativity and thought. Rock on AFI
its definately growing on me.....can't wait for this ep.
This song is very sing the sorrowish and i like that, but i would like to hear more of a black sails sound again. Keep doing your thing AFI.
I totally agree they are just an amazing band all around.
@helloieatchicken: I started in 2003 when I heard Sing the Sorrow. My favroite AFI albums are Sing the Sorrow and Decemberunderground, and I've listened to all their albums. I love the atmosphere of those albums.
damn about time, i was worried this would never come - cant wait for the ep!!!
love you for uploading this
Very nice....I like the touch of the 'old'.

I wonder when they release "View From Here". It was supposed to be on EP.
Great song thanks for uploading
Sounds good. I welcome the new material. It's about time.
well you could always go to wikipedia..and look under their discography and find their songs from that...because they have alot
they are, in an interview i watched this morning davey was saying how his lyrics arent as dark as they used to be.
Good stuff
-i love afi for life-
lol, the beginning, "Stage diving, no problem, head walking, no problem, crowd surfing, *cute chuckle* problem" X) i love him

@AFIfreak4life1 There isn't going to be one anymore. All the songs were released as Crash Love B-Sides.
The opening video is old. When he was with Blaqk Audio, he ditched the make-up and cut his hair off to a slight devil lock (think Days of the Phoenix video with shorter bangs). Jade mentioned in his blog a possible buzz cut, so I think that they're changing their image to something more tame, grown up, and less "emo" since that whole fad has died down a lot
i dont really know when the album will come out, but i think theyre done recording the ablum.
actual best song they have bought out in a while
lyrically their new songs are far more mature. you can definitely hear the progess theyve made. their production also has gotten better.
lolz. Hunter is funny at 1:17. Hes chillin. XD
2:24 this picture is awesome.
Im gonna miss their screams and shouts like in the old AFI days, but the new songs are awesome too. At least in a different way. =D
great song i forgot about it for awhile and came across it and was like hey...i like this song :)
it sounds like the whole sound some of the songs from sing the sorrow had. nice, wen does this ep come out?
take into account that sing the sorrow was the first album with a producer's influence. I believe everything before that was more expressive of themselves. Now they're just trying to attain some sound rather than express themselves.
agreed, Black Sails is in my Top 5 albums of all time. Which includes metallicas justice, misfits walk among us, radiohead ok computer, clash's 1st album
everything up til crash love has been AWESOME i got it the other day and there are only a few good ones on there they need to go back and use there old sound
yeah im agree
all their albums are different!
THATS WHY I LOVE THEM!
They're done writing. The 8th album is being recorded. (as of a week ago) Who else is excited?
Why would something that was recorded in the DU era be in Crash Love? We don't know for sure when Crash Love is coming out because AFI is always changing their minds.

1:21 very nice picture of hunter
im glad to hear someone else gets that
Isn't the EP going to be songs from the STS sessions? Like Rabbits are roadkill- you could tell it was from the older days before DU.
Reminiscent of some Sing the Sorrow stuff. I'm quite in love.
You are welcome to your opinion. I thought it was a wonderful album, and it was not the first AFI one I heard. I love it.
it was supposed to come out a LONNNNNNNNNNNG time ago. i don't think it ever did. at least crash love is due for the end of september. heh.
my thoughts exactly. perfect mix of the 2. sts will always be my fave album...i think. but this has a chance to be good
Goodness,Davey just looks delicious in that purple eyeshaddow.
:D You have to love that man!!!
LOVE YOU DAVEY!!
:P
Down bad
This actually isn't from Crash Love
It is from the EP of old demos that was supposed to be released first
To every "this sounds like girls not grey" post, this song was written during the production of Sing the Sorrow and was one of the many tracks that they wrote and recorded that never made it to the album...
IT IS AN EXTRA, IT IS NOT NEW, IT IS ONE OF THE SONGS THAT OTHERWISE WOULD BE LOST TO MEDIOCRITY.
NOSTALGIA TOTAL

Anyone else think that if the "I close my eyes" bit was screamed it would make it so much better?
buenisima banda
I AM!!!! Its eating me alive!!!
and nice make up Davey.
Am i the only one who loves Black sails In the Sunset DecemberUnderground and Crash love equally? i actually love DU more then the rest.. But stil God called in sick today is there best song. Wish more people were like that :(
You need to listen to art of drowning
I love this song!!:D but when is an AFI song bad lol.the intro is great.its sounds like a classic rock song.
davey said in an interview he thinks around sept.
definitely!
great song
I jst lol'd. If u think they are emo then u have the last 2 albums. If you care...!!.... youd have all 6 or 7 and all the eps and single since half of them have diff unreleased songs on them. And then youd know they grown with talent and style and still only have under a handfull of radio edits!!!! ( most likly due to record labels )
PS thanks for the song. gd to hear they are still growing!!
no, it's not from Crash Love.
it's supposedly from the EP.
Read the description
It's off the new EP in the works
And also in some sort of NASCAR game
i have to say i didnt really like decemberunderground because it seemed like it was cut out of something other than afi but this gives me a lot more hope
i know each of those songs by heart already. Why would I need to listen to them? haha
AFI's still got it! this song is SICK!!!!!!
Stage diving, no problem.
Head walking, no problem.
Crowd surfing, problem.
lol he's awesome and adorable
I really like this song, but u can't get it on iTunes which sucks.
nascar 09
Scott & Dylan Best yeeehh
this song sounds alot like a song i would expect to hear in sing the sorrow
I love AFI no matter what they put out
I kinda like change and mixing things up
Is this gonna be on the new album? Why is the new album coming out before the EP they were supposed to release?
I think he meant "after listening to them for five years."
And AskingForIt were not the band AFireInside have become.
that's what I thought! when I heard the into. It sounded like a edited version of the girls not grey intro.
When is the new album coming out? Or has it already com out?
i love davey's purple eyeshadow and this song =)
i love afi and everything, i think they are a very very good band i love the work they do
BUT! doesnt the beginning of this song remind u of girls not grey?
the beginning sound familiar.
i love them so much!!
So much. I think they had to decide between the 2 for the album. I love it tho
yes i wonder what happened to that too?
I love this song!
yazhavok eres lo mejor!!!!si no fuera por mi amiga del msm YAZHAVOk nunca ubiese visto esta nueva cancion wow!! me gusta aunk lo discutimos bien y es parecida a girls not grey ,,, espero su opinion afi forever
thank you so much YAZHAVOk
Girls Not Grey came first, and indeed it is awesome!
The beginning guitar rift sounds a lot like girls not grey, which i approve of cause that's my favorite song by them.
he was talking about people who crowd surf and how he doesn't like crowd surfing but everything else is fine.
If crash love is anything like this it'll be the only AFI album I won't own.
People who miss the "old" 2006 style need to take a good look at the BACK catalog. Out of all the AFI albums, when we play "one of these things is not like the others?" They didn't suddenly get good with DU, they've been an amazing band the whole time. Just discounting 10+ years of Afi's music by calling it "boring and repetitive" is my problem.
What exactly is the difference between crowd surfing and stage diving?
