I knew after seeing her sing this song Sunday night that some "music lover" would put this great performance on RUclips. Thank you so much for doing this. Undeniably, Fantasia is gaining so much more than what American Idol could have ever given her, and that's, respect. I had the good fortune of seeing her perform during her last week and her performance was one of the most inspiring, sincere, moving, genuine performances I've ever seen. I'm not always please that the producers put untrained stars in shows..I'd rather see my friends get the jobs... but sometimes someone deserves a shot and Fantasia was brilliant.

this was, in my opinion, literally the best performance of the night. i have no idea what you're talking about: she WAS celie. how are you not seeing the emotion? too MANY people on broadway have the emotion but NOT the voice - or vice versa. fantasia (somehow naturally) has both, as seen in this performance. i haven't seen something so beautifully expressive AND vocally strong in too, too long.

What I find so irritating about the negative comments about Fantasia is that it's coming from the African American community, and yes some whites! But mostly AA. Instead of learning from the adversity that she's experienced in her life, and how she has managed to overcome them with this talent; AA have resorted to degrading one of their own. What did her mother and daughter do to any of you to receive such negative juvenile rants. She has a family that she's trying to care of.

You know music needs some refreshing talent to rejuvenate lack luster sales and originality. Sorry, Beyonce has been given to many times to shine and she's faltered. Jennifer Hudson's perfomance in "Dreamgirls" busted Beyonce's questionable talent of carrying a movie role. She can perform, but can she outshine in a leading role. It's doubtful now.
