I've been wondering if the "Big news announcement on the 25th" is them saying they are going to network. They went all in on information and science this time.
The TKOR Patreon is going to EXPLODE! This video had the feel of a Myth Busters episode and I’m all for it. Love this team and how they educate and entertain. I’m looking forward to what comes next.
As a rebreather diver, I would be interested in seeing what a fire in a pure oxygen rebreather does. If possible get lungs from a slaughtered animal and attach them to the rebreather and pump them in and out a few times so the lungs are full of pure oxygen. Would a fire in the breathing loop actually burn the lungs?
That would be a valuable thing for divers to know, wouldn't it? I'd like to second the idea of trying that, and I'm going to go out on a limb and make my guess that yes, yes it would burn your lungs.

I love how many experiments they do in videos like this. There's not just or two short experiments, there's plenty of experiments w/ different situations, scales, materials, setups, etc.
Daaaaaaaaaam! I'm a welder and have used liquid oxygen under pressure with acetylene in a cutting torch at this one place. It cuts very well pretty quick and the dropping liquid steel from the cuts formed a white hot pool underneath.
I once nearly burned down my house with butane: i had a bunch of liquid butane put it on a table and my 3iq self wondered "what if I'd heat the cold liquid butane" so I took a lighter and you are smart, you each TKOR, you know where this was going
"there's supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom!" idk if you were going there lol, but the kabooms here always make me happy, just like Marvin the Martian wants
Wonder if there were ever any fist fights among police and firefighters for the honor of being present when Mythbusters did this. I'd bet that some of the firefighters were off duty or retired.
So with fuses, I've heard that putting them in something like a cardboard tube will make them burn faster. This makes me wonder if a strip of carpet soaked in liquid oxygen in a pipe would have a similar effect. I imagine a steady stream at the entrance while the carpet is pulled through the pipe would evenly distribute it, but that would require some testing of course.

I loved how informative this video was. I mean, the other videos before this was kind of informative, but I feel like this video was an extra nice one.
About the sparks. I think it usually works because there is some mixture of fuel and oxygen on the air. If you pour liquid oxygen, even if you had some vapor pressure from the fuel, it would be low since it really cold. The only vapor you have there is oxygen, but the fuel vapor is missing, so no fire.
I miss seeing calli in the episodes doing the experiments, I always loved her energy, total and real surprise as well as her and Nick's stage presence together ❤💖
I love the double experiment thing in this video. It kind of feels like a non-formal mythbusters. Itd be great to see more double or triple experiment videos.
While these videos are cool, entertaining, and informative, id like to see more experiments that viewers can create at home. It can be anything from cool science experiments to cool toys. I want a real throwback to Grant's old videos.

There’s a reason liquid oxygen is literally rocket fuel (technically it’s the oxidiser because no air in space)
oxygen is oxygen
but some oxidizers like chlorine make oxygen when burnt
