Eye en het British Film Institute (BFI) presenteren een compilatie van gerestaureerde opnamen uit de collectie van de Mutoscope and Biograph Company, een van de eerste filmbedrijven. Met steun van de Europese Commissie zijn vijftig films uit de Mutoscope and Biograph-collecties van Eye en de BFI digitaal gerestaureerd (8K). Deze één-minuten-tijdcapsules - gedraaid op 68mm-nitraat - zijn vermaard vanwege de unieke resolutie; de opnamen uit de begintijd van de cinema behoren tot de scherpste en rijkst gedetailleerde beelden uit de filmgeschiedenis.

The Mutoscope and Biograph Collection is the oldest film collection held at Eye Filmmuseum. It includes over 200 films, most of which made in Europe between 1897 and 1902. This constitutes the largest existing collection of Mutoscope and Biograph films surviving in the world.
