I'm surprised you haven't mentioned Serhou Guirassy from Stuttgard. He has been linked with us from Fabrizio himself for this summer, and has a release clause of £14.9M. He is 28 years old and has got 26 goals in 27 league games for Stuttgard. Dude is a steal for that price.

I completely agree signing someone like Sesko doesn't make sense. We should focus on developing Hojlund instead of paying a premium for another young striker
you know how poorly run we are. onana was free when ten hag came in, mount is free in few weeks time but what is the most baffling to me. we needed a striker but didnt even try to get marcus thuram on free. we needed an attacking midfield daichi kamada europa league winner scored more than 5 goals vs arsenal and westham in his career from 4 matches was free. instead we got hojlund and mount for 130 million instead two BETTER players on FREE. absolute insanity. i didnt even bring up tielemans, boubacar kamara who were free as well
Because we really didn't had the staff that had base level of sense to look into the market, but no, people think as if managers nowadays or ever, were the people who could take time out of handling the chaos of the squad to go and scout, our scouting department was run by idiots who couldn't provide options ever.

Whether someone likes this or not, United need a proper pressing forward, meaning someone like, yes, Weghorst... who practically brought out the best in Rashford due to his physical presence and pressing. You do not need a world class striker... you need someone who can fit into the team's current wingers cutting in and shooting system.
And... United have not been man-marking this season... so the system has to be properly defined.

absolutely. been saying this for months. bringing in another young striker to compete with hojlund is a must.
Rooney was up and coming when Man U signed him, there was no gaurentee he'd be amazing. We need a balance of cheap risk but with potential (i.e. amad, hojland, malacia, etc) and expensive risk (i.e. sancho, antony, pogba, etc).
United don't have the money to sign a top striker. Other positions are much more important. And who says you can't get a good striker for a cheaper price.
I think an older striker is needed.
Rasmus should be given time to learn and develop rather than having the burden of being the primary choice. I'm sure he could be an excellent striker in 2 or 3 years.

Gimenez is THE player I wanted. Had Glazer/Arnold/ ETH has not screwed our finances in the last 2 years I think we should really go for him.
He is such a perfect fit. And I have been saying this for 2 years already. A United character in built like Licha is.
But alas; we screwed up and got Hojlund for 3 times the price Santi would have cost.
Now we only have £130m a hear to play with i.e an effective transfer market value of £100m and no one worth it to sell.

I really don't know if I am always so lucky that I see him play well all dozen or so times (usually Mexico) i have seen him; or i am not getting something about him that scouts did not like.

A lot of the other channels don't do this - they just mention outlandish signings especially considering how conservative and clever INEOS are looking to be.

We miss a striker with the ability like Martial's to hold the ball up under pressure, get other's involved and get the team up the pitch. Hojlund doesn't get much great service but when it does go into him, he's mostly incapable of holding onto it. He prefers to face the defender and run at them similarly to his goal against Newcastle but he won't always get that opportunity. He can maybe develop his hold up play but right now he's just not ready. Guirassy would be ideal due to his hold up and link play aswell as his instinct for Goals which Hojlund also lacks as I beleive his box movement isn't the best. Guirassy for 17M is a no brainier.
i dont rate martial hold up play i think it’s average and we only saw glimpses of it. but hojlund is so bad at it, like lukaku and haaland, untidy touches, all of them dont know how to protect the ball, buy fouls, put your body in between player and the ball.
@@steve13191 you need to watch more ball before making such unknowledgeable comments. Martials hold up and link play was top. Him and rashford worked well together for a reason.
Jonathan David's contract expires next season, he should be available for a reasonable sum too. 20+ goals in pretty much every season so far.
Different profile to Rasmus sure, but surely a worthy addition if the price is right.

Getting a young striker would be a nice change of strategy. You can sell them on for a break-even if they don't work out (like Dan James) and if they do work out we got a star on the cheap
The real steal was Gyokeres from Coventry last season. He went to Sporting for 24 million!

I don't mind us shopping in bargain basement for a striker, I'm more concerned about the lack of service these strikers are going to suffer from.
Dovbyk is a beast. Super atheltic, quick, powerful etc. mind you, regardless of who we bring in, we are going to have to teach our wide players how to bloody find them!

Id say we should sign zirkzee, he's young but experimented and a big tall striker. He's not a traditional no.9. He plays more like kane, being able to link play and can dribble for such a tall player.

It definitely would be sensible to go for the not so obvious but essential names in the summer. We just can't keep splashing ridiculous amounts for already made stars without any room to develop who when every time they get on the pitch, it's their high price tag everyone is focused on..
I think the striker we need is to be like a Jackson/Firmino type of striker. A player who priority is to link up play up front and for the wingers and midfielders to score goals. Since our wingers and midfielders are selfish and dun really create for the striker. I think that's the best option.
Honestly we should get two of them in, keep whichever one shows the most promise and move the other one on next year.
It brings some good competition into the squad, doubles our chances of finding the right player and, considering how good all of them are, we'll probably break even on transfer fees whether they play games for us or not.
And if that sounds ridiculous, take a look at what happened to Calvin Bassey. Ajax signed him based on scouting data for 23 million, he played for them and stunk out the place because they asked him to do things he wasn't good at, then he joined Fullham for 22.5 million.
Hey Stephen, regarding Pavlidis, he can score but another striker with higher ceiling and much more complete profile is Ioannidis of Panathinaikos. He can score, hold up, dribble and pass. He also starts over Pavlidis for the Greek national team. Sporting CP want him and then they could sell him for 60. He is only 24 and his improvement has been phenomenal over the last three years! He also bullied Van Dijk and Ake when Greece played against the Netherlands!
Lol what a difference a perspective swap makes. Dutch commentators where wondering all game why Pavlidis wasn't brought on earlier because Ioannidis was so useless.

If ETH still influences transfers, albeit unlikely with the new structure, Brobbey is probably the most likely
Callum Wilson from Newcastle would be a great back up for and mentor to Hojlund - proven at Premier League level and won’t cost the earth given his age (32).
I do understand your reluctance to look in the free transfers market, but there ARE some worth consideration I think.
Wissam Ben Yedder would be one.
He has ability, still has legs even at his age, lots of knowledge, experience and nous, and he could be a good mentor for Hojlund whilst he is with us.
Although if money wasn't an object, I'd love us to go for Lautaro Martinez.

We could do well with a young and mature striker like Joshua Zirkzee
Dovbyk would be the pick of those 3 and there is even more to come from him but I feel utd are looking more at sesko he younger than all them and has a similar goal scoring record as well in every season he has played

Should Consider Palace’s Mateta
Zirkzee would be ideal. He's got a release of around £34m. David, Guirassey, Gimenez arent bad options either or what about someone like Wilson or Welbeck on a free. Both proven in the Prem both are experienced & would do a decent job in giving Hojlund support

Cunha or Guirassy are good options as they offer something different to Rasmus and could partner him if the manager requires two up top at any point
Boy at sporting gykoyres looks like a real baller done it in championship too
El Kaabi as a signing or Endrick on loan with a guarantee of game time to attract him and play hojlund in the position McTominay has been in behind the striker with Bruno deeper next to Mainoo or on RW
U18 goal scoring machine already at the club. Made 2 appearances this season. Surely he can help Rasmus next season. A seasoned pro would be great addition though.
End of day all these are upgrades on martial which adds value to squad and options in games
Another great thing about signing players like Denkey is low wages, because if he fails then he's not a massive weight dragging you down (like Martial) and that also makes it easier to offload him to other teams.
Thankfully Woodward isn’t still around because he would off them £300k a week so we get stuck with them for the full contract after they flop

I think we need 2 strikers, with the amount of free agents that are talented, I don't see the point in spending transfer budget of a 2nd/3rd choice striker. I think Che Adams is a Free agent in the summer, 15 goals 4 assists in 40 games, goal involvement every other game, similar to previous season in the prem. Or luka jovic, free from AC, 6 and 1 I 21 games, goal involvement in every 3 games. Koita m, 6 and 1 in 18 game. 3 player with good ages hitting their peaks.
Or an older option, Mounie, 6 and 2 in 31 games, 29yo.
Or mcburnie, 6and3, in 21 games only 27.
Or an old head like chris wood, Ben yedder, or Rafa.
These are guys for rotation and sub, push hojlund etc. And we have Wheatley coming through, so they can pass on experience

I think Alexander Sørloth should be considered as well or Guirassy. Sørloth might be too pricey but Guirassy should be gettable. Both from clubs that are likely to sell.
Guirassy is the obvious choice given the release clause. Otherwise maybe a cheap Calum Wilson or look in the free agent market. Need a good sub but not too expensive. With prime positions being DCR and DM. Then possibly AMR if given up on Anthony and Sancho. Then backup to Martinez who can also play left back. Of these Dovbyk if his release clause is that low would be good.
Really like the look of denkey never heard of him before but I think that is the kind of player we need to be buying. When is the last time we actually did good business and got a good little cheap unknown baller,chicharito maybe? I think we sign this guy have Rasmus as the main & give wheatley some real first team minutes he looks a gem
If we go for Michel to replace ETH, Dobvyk might come as well.

We cannot go cheap at all if we are offloading to upgrade players. Cheap just like expensive does not guarantee us as United is an upgrade in the various positions.

Ste was very high on him a while back. So high that he did a "the worry with" video on Isak because he preferred David and Julian Alvarez (whoever heard of him since?). Ste does his homework to be fair, David might be a good shout right now.

Lautaro Martinez is my dream, he could easy play with hojlund. But that's not going to happen, I like Artem Dovbyk he will be cheap and I think we will adapt very well to the Premier League.

Osimhen, Gyokeres, Vlahovic, and Sesko would be your bigger signings. Value signing would probably include Johnathan David, Guirassy, Ben Yedder. I’m sure they will be looking to do some sort of deal like swapping Greenwood. If reports are right about Athletico id try and get a swap deal for Felix? No an out and out 9 but can play there if required.

If we are honest we need two strikers because Marcus shouldn't ever play striker. Denkey and a season long loan from AZ striker with an option to buy would be a good decision for Utd if they could make it happen.
Carra had a good point (for once) you gotta decide if hojlund is the the main man or not. If he gets taken out for a better striker, his development will slow so much. Not seen the first guy. I could see Dovbyk being a flop. He's a real purple patch striker. One of those that misses an easy chance, then lashes one in from a difficult angle. Denkey would be the one for me but I personally feel for Hojlund to succeed he needs to play in a 442, and he needs a strike partner with similar traits to Dybala or Griezmann. He played with Ademola Lookman at Atalanta. Could Amad or Garnacho do it?
