Since when is my beloved Ekt a female ? Ekt has been a "him" for 40 years ! and Skeklach is a him too in the mangas
Ya, that was a interesting change, as Henson himself in the film's behind the scene said Ekt may of been the most feminine but they all males. Meh, suppose it doesn't matter much as they can't reproduce or anything.
Thank you very much for the review of the two books. They are beautifully designed, albeit they do not seem not too essential in terms of new background information. Nevertheless the artwork in the Aughra book is amazing. That alone is worth the price in my opinion.
However, at the moment I am rather waiting for "Inside the Epic Return of Thra". I have very high hopes for that book.
Same here, I hope to be getting my copy in later today... so there should be a vid on the later tonight or tomorrow.
I wish they'd do a sequel to World of the Dark Crystal, with the same solemnity and worldbuilding ambition, but from Raunip's point of view.
You know I'd be all over that. I do have hope that that type of idea will happen in the "Songs of the Seven Clans" based on the blurb, but it could go another direction. But I am still hopeful :)

The Aughra book is so far off from what I imagined, but it would be a nice gift for a child, as you said. It doesn't exactly hit the mark as a collector focused read though. The Hero book is closer to what I expected, though I was hoping for a bit more depth, basically a DC wiki - similar to the visual dictionaries they do for the Star Wars movies. Do they cover all the Skeksis & Mystics? Seems like there may have been some gaps, and I'd really like to see everything on Thra covered.
Ya, something like a Visual Dictionary would have been awesome. It really only covers major and some side characters that were in Age of Resistance. I hope next year's "Song of the Seven Gelfling Clans" is more akin to that.

I'm looking forward to both of these, but I'm really bummed that there's a one-to-two month delay on receiving "Return to Thra".

No idea. I was looking for the shipping notification and then saw that. Some people do have theirs already, so it doesn't appear to be an issue with the publisher.
@@CountOrlok22 I asked the publisher and they said they were unsure what happened since Amazon shows they have it in stock. I gave up, cancelled my order, drove five minutes away to Barnes and Nobles and picked one up! :)
I may have to check our B&N stores. Thus far they haven't had any Dark Crystal stuff other than the Archaia comics. Of all the books, "Return to Thra" is the one I want most, so I may have to shell out a few extra dollars if I can find it.

Again, they don't really give any new info regarding that. So no clear answer.

@@ChiPandaAndKeegan Ya, and many possibilities. Do Gelfling reproduce like us? Does this society have polygamous relationships and the mom is gone now? Questions, questions... :)
There was a Star Trek TNG generation episode where same sex relationships were the norm and children gestated in a pod. However, the likeliest explanation is that she's from a prior marriage or adopted.
