  • Having a watch polished can be a scary thing IF you do not have the right person. I for one am a watchmakers worst nightmare lol. I like my watches done a certain way. I always say that the right watchmaker can polish a watch 100 times but it only takes 1 time for a bad watchmaker to leave permanent damage. Knowing the right person is very important. This particular person that I use is one of my friends and has over 50 years of experience. He is located here in Miami and is one of the few that I can trust with my personal watches from my collection. Most people think that this is a fast process but really do not understand all the steps that it takes to really get a correct watch refinish completed. Hope you guys enjoy this video as much as I did.
    00:00 Intro
    00:22 Watch is fully disassembled.
    01:41 Machine Lap & Polish
    02:32 Cleaning & Steaming
    03:42 Polished areas are taped
    03:54 Time to Satin!
    04:27 Satin by hand
05:07 Case is machine turned for Satin
    06:42 Reassembly begins
    06:59 Crown is Reinserted
    07:44 Bezel is Screwed down
    08:20 Water pressure test
08:59 Bracelet is assembled and put on
    09:55 Watch is complete
