dude was 14-15 doing crazy stunts respect to Dan and David
yh
Devastating what happened to David :(
@@therealh00dwitchcan you explain what happened to david ? & who is david ?
@@NastyEssai David Holmes was Daniel’s stunt double for all of the Harry Potter films. During a stunt for deathly hallows he was injured and unfortunately paralyzed
@@NastyEssai if you have streaming services, look up the boy who lived. It’s a documentary about him. I had to watch it through my fingers because I got really close to showing the actual accident and I had to tell myself “ I know they are not about to show this tragic accident on a documentary”
Every Potter fan needs to watch the documentary about David Holmes, Dan's stunt double who was paralyzed while doing one of these stunts. He's an amazing human who has been Dan's best friend for decades.
Omg condolences for David, he's a cool guy
That's the first thing that came to my mind.
I had no idea about this, what happened to David?
So much worse that he's continuing to lose function like being paralyzed wasn't devastating enough. :/
@@kawaiicatcher1473I mean yeah, no shit. 🤣 Pretty sure they were wondering what exactly happened that paralyzed him, not the cliff notes that was just posted as the original comment.
"Yer a stuntman, Harry"
"I'm a wot??"
Idk why this made me laugh so hard😂
Ha ha!! 😂
And a thumpin’ good un’
@@bloodbought6809 But, i'm just, Harry..
The fact that his stunt double was permanently injured on Potter testifies to how dangerous it actually was to shoot these scenes.
@@blessedbutterflytarot3060 Yes, he is in a wheelchair now, permanently paralyzed from a stunt-related accident that happened during filming.
So basically they let the really crazy and difficult stunts be done by stuntguys. Still respect to both for their work 👏🏼
@@merengue7139well yeah, they can't let their main actors do the most dangerous stunts because if something happened to them there would be no film at all.
That’s insane.. hopefully he was well compensated given the immense success of the franchise
@@creativefreedom9143damn, I hope he’s ok
Daniel Radcliffe doing these kinds of stunts himself as a teenager is one of those "earns respect for life" kind of things. Mad props
🗿🗿🗿
Wait till you hear about David holmes
Most of his stunts were tested by his stunt double, David Holmes, who often decided if Dan could reasonably do the stunts himself.
@@tbrennan100 oh yeah, I heard Daniel was making a documentary about him
@@unhingedunit562 I don't doubt it. It's still really cool that Daniel opted to do them himself once they were sure. There's so many in the entertainment industry that could totally handle some of their stunts, but still opt for a stunt double anyway
Averaging only 7 seconds of footage a day is absolutely insane to me
Impossible. It would take years upon years to make a movie like that
@tunod- There are films that have taken 8 years to film a 2 hour movie.
The longest a movie has taken I believe was something like 40 years!
On average a 1 hour 50 min movie takes 4 months to film. The matrix took something like 8 months, but then post-production takes WAY longer. They have to add sound effects, music and remove background noise to every single clip.
1 minute of film takes 3 hours to edit!
So if I film is 120 minutes long and they work 8 hour days, that's 45 days with no days off just to work on the sound for the movie. Made me appreciate movies more when I learned what all it takes to make one.
@@tunod-not impossible you just missed the fact he’s referring to only the underwater scene
@@JessicaL085 there was no need for all of this lmao. You went so hard to tell them they are wrong when you are technically wrong. What you said is right but what you missed is the part wher he said “ it took 6 weeks and we averaged 7 seconds a day” referring to the underwater scene in the tank. That’s about 294 seconds and almost 5 mins. Not the entire movie
@@JessicaL085 The eight years that you mentioned do not primarily involve acting/shooting instead, approximately 90% of the time is dedicated to technical aspects such as props, technology, VFX, location permits, etc. The actual shooting days typically span only one to three months, and this includes makeup sessions that can take one to three hours per day.
I'm not trying to disrespect the actors, but often, people tend to overlook the fact that there are many individuals working tirelessly behind the scenes who do not receive as much credit as the actors do.
They really said “You’re young. You’ll survive.”
And he did but I'm sure he's thankful that he never has to do that again, because that's insane
On god 😂
No wonder it’s aged so well, the effects were very practical. I thought the fire scene was digital
Wells... The trolls in the first movie is really bad.
@@andressepulveda9709that’s more of a product of its time. CGI wasn’t that great in 2001.
@@MildlyPerturbed the troll in Lord of the ring (2001) is way beter. In the 2000s some people make really good cgi... but not in the first movie of HP.
I don't think it looks that bad , cry baby andre@@andressepulveda9709
@@andressepulveda9709 Lord of Rings is like the exception to the rule
I personally didn’t know he did so many of his own stunts this is actually very cool to see
he didnt he had a stunt man that endened up permanently injured wheelchair bound, dan is/did make a documantary about it speaking with david, it called David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived
@@TheyLoveSirius well he did though. He has to at least do half of it. Like you expect them to cgi his face on David’s for most of the film lol
@@Jay41Well people should stunt guys who do this risky shit not some actors who get over praised for some of the stuff while other lost his life people should suck on them just cause they be famous actors dan looks humble guy but yea
@@Jay41 he does not HAVE to dan wantted/choose to do half, and for stunt sences those move fast-pace they are normally face pace.
@@TheyLoveSiriusDan is this clip is talking about some stunts he did do himself
I’m not a Harry Potter fan in the slightest, but I gotta respect the dedication there!
But.. how you no like? 🥹
have you seen the movies you should 😃.... and you should also read the books 🥰
Just make sure to separate art from artist. For the love of god...

@@MelloriNoMoripeople can dislike harry potter for other reasons than the author, there’s nothing wrong with not liking a book series
Literally Dan’s stunt double broke his neck and is a paraplegic as a result of one of the stunts they filmed in this series. The amount of work experience in the deep end of some of the craziest acting environments that Dan and others got over the course of these films is insane. Like he does many of the less deadly stunts himself, and its not like he’s Tom Holland with a background as a dancer/athlete coming at Spider-man and then like the Uncharted movie and stuff; Dan grew up on set so he learnt all this on the roll and had a crazy resume even before he finished those films. 😂it’s actually a fairly short list of people who have filmed entire scenes actually underwater, because yeah-you manage like
Not to mention Tom himself has broken a few parts of himself on set even with his experience as an athlete and dancer.
David Holmes injuries are not quadriplegic, they are paraplegic. He has retained the use of his arms.
Genuinely thought Ed Sheran had Daniel Radcliffe in a head lock
hahaha i will not unsee Sheeran from here on out! thanks for pointing that out.
I mean, his stunt double DID get paralyzed while shooting so... I don't blame him for not wanting to do it again
There's only so much you can paralyze, Jenett!
Well, yes, but not while shooting *this*
@@VenomHalos yes he got paralyzed during deathly hallows not goblet of fire, but it was still during the Harry potter series
@@joni.l It's absolutely horrible, but I guess the silver lining is that it wasn't during the dragon scene, cuz Mike Newel added so much stupid shit that wasn't in the book. The task in the book was already exciting enough... why not keep it as is and actually make the maze like the book as well, complete with Skrewt and Sphinx?
it sounds like he does want to do it, there are just no studios that would let him
He’s looking so much healthier and happier lately.
He's a perfect actor to play Popoye the Sailor Man.
THE FACT THAT DAN AND TOM HAD TO BE ENEMIES BUT THEN IRL THEYRE BESTIESSS
Daniel Radcliffe will always be Harry Potter to me even though he’s doing different stuff now, this is always what we’ll remember him for 😊
This is the type of thing that actors hate and a reason why they leave their shows
Daniel Radcliffe was a Harry Potter, but Harry Potter himself is not Daniel Radcliffe.
Do you actually like the actor or favor the fictional portral of Harry Daniel and his stunt doubles brought to life?
Every movie I watch with Daniel Radcliffe I’m like: oh wow so Harry Potter withdrew from the wizard world, divorced Ginny, left his family and friends and cleared his mind from all memories associated with magic, to live like a normal person 👀
One of the reasons why most of HP actors stop doing acting or waited years to do another movie after HP. Huge fans of HP always remember them that way.
In other way they're good doing HP, in other way they're hurt, because it seems like people only like their characters in HP and not their acting.
That's why he's never had a career of note since lol, obsessive fans will never let it go so he can't ever do anything else.
That bright green eyes of his is soooo hypnotizing 😮
He has blue eyes 😂
Green?
😂😂😂
they're blue
So they are blue eyes. But I’m assuming your referencing how Harry is supposed to have green eyes like Lilly. So if that’s the case bravo. I see what you did there.
Elijah wood is such a nice guy
Hats off this man he did so much crazy stuff during these movies i think had he been an adult at the time he wouldnt have done it, kids have an lessor sense of fear than adults, but i think its only when you learn that Daniel's stunt double ended up paralysed during filming one particular stunt do you get a real sense of just how dangerous A LOT of this stuff was.
Seems like when an actor is a kid they're like "fck it, they'll be fine" but once they turn 18 they're like "wait... we need a stunt man for everything now"
Tell that to the Legendary Tom Cruise!
He still does all his stunts in his 60's.. He is a living Legend!
Also, Jackie Chan does not and did not have a stunt double. He's broken most of his bones numerous times
@@meowscutieYep. Jackie Chan is a Legend! Amazing actor and stunt devil!
To be fair, they can recover better when they are younger.
I need him to be Wolverine!
I bet he would be awesome. When he looks angry in Harry Potter scenes 😏
Me too
he'd better be able to put on a good canadian accent then
Yaaaas! And Sophie turner from 2011z That movie would do so mediocre!
No
I thought it was Rupert behind him for a sec lol
The gal in the green screen suit looked very happy to grab Daniel lol ❤
Wow, that's amazing
It really is!
Wow this actor actually turned out CUTE!
Haha I remember having a tiny crush on him in the early movies but really it was the eyes that are very attractive
kudos to dan for doing these extremely challenging stunts at a very young age. kudos also to the dragons for being professional and not harming anyone on set 👏🏻
A lot of people don’t know that Daniel’s stunt double became a quadrapelegic during filming due to a stunt, so heartbreaking. He just released a documentary about it called the boy who lived or something and it’s a beautiful story about how he’s going on to live his life and Daniel is in it. These films were seriously dangerous
how do actors get born grow up then end up older looking than me😂😂 I think there should be a health warning on riches
i think it is because the film industry really likes to just take it out of you and squeeze your talent for all its worth.
He had substance abuse addiction for a time. Alcoholism isn’t too good for health.
White people age fast.
Teehee. Drugs and alcohol offered to minors bc they’re famous 😂 so funny
People take the alcohol thing waay too seriously. In a sense that it was for a very brief period of time that he partied hard, too much, not like he was jugging a bottle of vodka in home everyday for years. Like not to say yeah go party hard to a point of having to cut back, but it just isn't a Huge story about Alcohol.
More than alcohol it's about coping with the constant celeb attention while coming into adulthood and how stressfull it is. Like he realized Quickly that the drinking (propably also snow) was getting to be too much and find other ways to handle the public-life stress. Like it's the thing of kid stars growing and getting messed up, well yeah if they start to hang around in the parties where coke and pills are flying around. Culkin had his period with taking opioids for couple years because it's kinda escalation where ok alcohol and blow around you is now the norm. Then they feel like not a big deal, popping some exctazy, then after some point you will just might quite easily take whatever opioid handed and if nothing else have, that will hit the spot. Take alll of the stress, anger, sadness, everything away. For awhile until it's even a bigger mess for you. RDJ is a perfect example of that escalation from young age to just keeping on going until not so young, he is those one out of million who get's a second change in that indrusty especially in a way he did.
I’m glad for DR that he has overcome his personal bumps in the road. Keeping up that pace for so many years must have taken its toll. Not to mention enduring the downside of stardom and escaping the pigeonhole that is Harry Potter.
It’s a double edged sword when a celebrity has many fans who bring him that celebrity and yet rudely disrespect their idol’s personal space…..not really an intelligent way to show someone you like them.
kudos to the film directors for getting a real dragon for the movie
The fact he fought a real dragon at such a young age blows my muggle mind
And yet Hogwarts still claims that they're the safest place on earth/ the Wizarding World
I haven't seen Daniel play any other movies better than he did it in Harry Potter.
I hope he will be choosing better roles and better films to star in, in the future.
He was my best actor in Hollywood❤❤❤
Loved the documentary!!! David Holmes & Daniel are amazing ppl and love their connection!!
You're a stuntman Harry!
HAHA I LOVE THIS
Dude deserves to be proud of his contributions to 76. It is true, the map is really great and one of the best aspects of 76
yea
Daniel Radcliff will always have a place in our hearts
Daniel's stunt double was crippled for life during a Harry Potter stunt, and he didn't even sue. 😢
Bless him on his sobriety journey
in the goblet of fire, his stunt heavily injured himself. Correct me if I'm wrong, but now, I read that he is paralyzed
It was deathly hollows, scene with Nagini at Godrick's Hollow. I have to watch the documentary they recently released on it.
It was his stunt double that was injured and paralyzed
@katie85705 She just said that. “stunt” is just for short
“He’s young, he’ll be fine” 😂
Respect to him & the Stunt man that was paralysed doing the most dangerous stunts.
Daniel looks kind of rough at the start of this. Like he spent an entire night looking at a screen and got zero sleep.
Man years later James Cameron records a fucking 3 hour film under water.
Goblet was peak Potter Cinema.
Came here for Ed Sheeran in a green morphsuit, stayed for Daniel Radcliffe’s on set horror stories
“All my own stunts, all my own stunts” 😂
He never said he did all his own stunts... he just said he was surprised they let him do certain ones

Elijah Wood is such a great actor.
I never get tired of watching these movies and Game of Thrones, they are just so good.
-At the age of 12?!!?!?
He's meant for water stunts. You Daniel Ruddercliff you 💀😂
its utterly respectable and impressive how easy it was for daniel to step out of the harry potter shoes, im very happy for that
Mans eye is so small 💀
Bruh how you gon talk shit the guy is more famous than you’ll ever be
its not your just not used to see him without the harry potter glasses
They aren’t small. How big are yours?
???
He doesn't even know which film it is? Did he read the books?
Its probably a jumbled blur to him, especially since he had a drinking problem in later films. He has been pretty frank about that.
It was the 6th film
Kudos to him for doing the entire series and not quitting
I feel like every hero character goes through a long hair phase.
My kids like your show. Dont fuck up
It’s crazy because people say humans start to look like their dogs and this boy starting to look like his owl
Ok I don't know about anyone else but underwater scenes for some reason make me thirsty and I always pause to get a drink, so u can imagine how many drinks I had to get during the aquaman movie
And it's crazy cause his Stunt Double, David Holmes, was injured during filming. I am just glad they are all okay.
All ok? The guy is literally a quadriplegic
There's like another video of this and they mentioned that Daniel Radcliffe was underwater for 41 hours.
I remember watching a behind the scenes documentary about Harry Potter where he talks about the stunts and the part that always stuck out to me is young Radcliffe talking about being scared and reminding himself “they will not let me die” with so much conviction
No one realized how much went into Harry Potter compared to films ever made.
Daniel took on an amazing task as a young kid and because he did that, he made so many childhood memories for people
that is why those potter films will go down as a classic, i mean when they finally give us the reboot no one asked for it'll never be like the same
That’s why the effects were amazing to this day. Your movies have been immortalized
He didn't say he wouldn't do them. He said the producers probably wouldn't let him do them
not the eughhh brother eughhhh 😭😭
the way his face lights up at the memory of the stunts he himself did
Dude felt like Jack chan and Tom cruise
This is why I always appreciate what actors do, to bring us great films.
“What are you doing man” ?
Harry: 😁
He never said he wouldn't redo it. He said, "He may not be on a set where they let him"
Radcliffe, such a class act. I absolutely love the fact he does movies with such enthusiasm, while it being the most ridiculous roles at times. Props.
His voice hasn't changed in th slightest.
Nothing beats his role in Equus.
He really, really loved that horse 😮😊
Damn daniel hats off had no idea u actually did these stunts and as a teenager none the less i watch every movie hes in daniel is good at what he does the woman in black is SO GOOD
Elijah Wood seems like a great guy. Can’t believe he was doing his own stunts.
You should definitely do more of these QNAs!
Dan was so unbelievably perfect for that role, I could never imagine Potter being played by anyone else.
Dan was my grade school inspiration and later on crush. Seeing him many years later he still has that warm smile and glow to him ❤
That's why Daniel gets to do whatever movie he chooses and literally EVERY movie this man has chosen to do after has been so damn good!
What a solid actor
Tom cruise stands up with will smith and Denzel Washington and Kenue Reeves and Robert Downey Jr and applauds 👏 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
No wonder he's just chillin' these days.
RESPECT THE MAN HE FACED SOME CHALLENGES

But that’s what makes movies and actors more iconic and legendary.
The guy under water looks like the funny guy from Corridor Digital
Daniel as Wolverine 🔥
I know taming a dragon for a scene can be stressful and Dobbey....... don't even begin to have me started on that. But props to you Daniel
The one where he falls from the building looked super fun
He’s a real badass
Making movies back in the day was so real, no tech to save you... That's why those movies turned out good, because real emotions, reactions was caught on camera and not faked....
"They wouldn't let me do that again now." Sounds like he's more than willing to do it again.
My boy looks stressed out and tired. Respect to this man. Gotta be hard going into public without someone shouting, "Hey! It's Harry Potter everyone!" It's an honor and a curse at the same time lol.
What an absolutely epic childhood. I’m jealous
Daniel Radcliffe and Tom Felton had serious alcohol problems for quite some time. Not sure about the others. But maybe not quite so awesome a childhood after all. 🤷
Yeah no. Usually what ends up happening is the parents control everything you own and it causes issues when you get older or the pressure that’s put on you being a lead child actor turns you to drugs and alcohol. There’s even child abuse. Look at Daniel Radcliffe himself, Macaulay caulkin, Amanda bines, etc etc. being a child movie star can be fucked up.
