I just did it 2 hours ago. I did three horizontal coast wet then waited 25 minutes and died another coat vertical so I would not show lines. Looks amazing after 1 hour sired I could run my hand over it. Cost me $17.99 Home Depot Canada

The Rustoleum Frosted Glass spray worked exactly as advertised. However, keep in mind you will need to spray the entire surface about 4 times. You don't necessarily need to wait in between coats. However, I found it useful to spray 2 coats, let it dry for 5-10 minutes to see any spots that need more coverage, and then apply the remaining 2 coats with emphasis on the spots that need more coverage. CAUTION: The fumes are very intense. I had to open every window in my house, and use pedestal fans to vent the fumes. Even then, the fumes were overwhelming, and I had to space out coats on each window. Obviously I used the spray on the inside of the windows since it's clearly not made for outdoor applications.

@@mariannastrench Definitely make sure that everyone is out of the house, and make sure that there is LOTS of ventilation. This is good stuff, but it is spray paint, and the fumes reflect that fact; a situation that is amplified indoors. It works really well though. Good luck!

I live in an area where the houses are pretty close together so I put a black out film over the glass and a painting over the glass for aesthetics. Now it’s like the window isn’t even there. I would recommend that if you don’t care at all about natural light. However thinker coats of frost would work, there’s also frost like films on Amazon that would probably work really well.

    • @bmpadv999

In the end, we went with a GenTek storm door who offer the obscure glass option. So it is durable for 70 years like the old storm door that had stick on sheeting where it shrunk so much you could see through the cracks. Takes a while and extra $ to find the best solution.

My problem is related to birds that are bumping into the windows of the house, and, unfortunately, some die. I want to avoid this aggression, but at the same time I don't want all the glass to be completely opaque.

birds dont just crash into the window because its reflective, they crash into it because its transparent and they dont even realize its there. unless you fog it or make it more opaque in some way i think they will continue to fly into it. You could try putting some decorative tape or patterns or something on the glass so they realize it is actually a wall. Also this fog spray doesn't make the glass completely opaque, as you can still get light to come through it and still have a very blurry image of whats immediately on the other side.

Just today I used this on 2 acrylic sheets. The sheets were lying horizontally - not upright - and the spray came out as spray and drops. I don't know if this was because I was pointing the nozzle down towards the acrylic rather than straight ahead like it would be if the material was vertical.

I did on my bathroom window. I put on the outside. It seems to be holding up just fine. I cleaned the glass really good before applying. I put on three coats for an even distribution. If you spray inside, mask off everything. It’s goes everywhere. I made the mistake of not doing that a few years ago.
