  • Stampeding feelings is an art today,
Cry nervous flirtings of a modern sonneteer,
Valentino eyes - such a drama!
    That haunting smile,
Could it try to be more charming?
    (It's an icy fire flame....)
    More charming
(...makes a beau a stylish blade)
Still faking this art of love
    Still faking....
    This art of love
    Trojan Valentine cards
    The sun at dawn
    Breathless gaspings
    of an ageing troubadour
    Inside those arms, such safety!
    This splendid scene
Could I sketch a piece more charming
    (It's an icy fire flame....)
    More charming
(...makes a beau a stylish blade)
Still faking this art of love
    Still faking.....
    This art of love
    More passion
    Many a pillow book weekend
    More passion, more.....passion
(It's a voice) "Oh I've never felt like...."
    (It's a voice) "Oh I'll never do..."
    (It's a voice) "Oh"
Still faking this art of love
    Still faking.....
    This art of love

Wow- I did not know how much meaning this album held for me! It's been over 20years, and hearing it again is flooding my mind with a torrent of impressions.

There's something about the scratchy sound of vinyl that brings back such great memories of this album - or pretty much any album for that matter. Perhaps it's because that's what we listened to back in those days, so the sound has much more meaning?

If I could sing 1/100th as good as Freeman, I'd never have to work a real job ever again!
Their 1st lp was/is fantastic, but a commercial failure; the recording co(A & M) decided not to release their 2nd lp[which would piss anyone off, big time]. But there were valid reasons, I guess, if this walker is any clue! Why they couldn't pen or cover more & better stuff I'll never figure out!
