This video was very helpful in exploring various techniques to squeeze the most out of winning moves. It's frustrating when you build a thesis, nail the entry, and then leave a huge chunk on the table as the move continues. This can definitely help with getting the most out of every share
yes it is Isaiah
"A lot of people say .. 'if I just let my winners run more and... ', ..... I don't know what the f*ck that means.." lol a-men Mike. Clear goals over flimsy after-the-close wishes.
Thanks for the information. This worked great riding down beyond meat last week from 124 to 110. Perhaps you should mention gap filling as well.
Thanks Mike for another great and useful video. Any chance of a few more videos with regards to trading forex?
Thank you so much, Mike! You guys are the best. I learned tons of info. from these educational videos.
The best video/lesson/advice I have seen so far this year!
Now, please, same quality opening strategy :)
Great trading wisdom there !!!
Mike in his as-a-mater-of- fact style telling some real great stuff.
Do you run MFE and MFA on either all your trades or each type of setup?
Is there a way to use tech to backtest your trades and see which exit method captures the most MFE (ex moving average break, atr trailing stop, etc) that traders on the desk use?
What I found most helpful was the point relating volume to capitulation. I did what you said and considered this from the long side as well; I guess it would be exuberance? Big volume with a big up-move sometimes signals a good long exit (or short entry), depending on system and all other factors of course.
ok good to know. train and trade well!
wow,,this is one of my biggest struggles as I day trade with options on mid-large cap, I typically buy puts when the MFi is over 80 and try to ride the trend down, often the trend continues with small retracements. The "greed" factor often comes in and now its, take the money and run, or let it ride. I will start incorporating the ideas you had in this video and have signed up for the webinar tonight.Thx,,keep them coming!
great to hear Mike
This was so helpful, going to work this into my process.
phenomenal video - thank you :)
Hi, what should we exactly consider when we wanna make our own strategy and playbook?
Bracket orders on a momentum spike can get you out quickly without emotions. The risk is that you don't get quite as much P/L and your win rate goes up.
When it starts basing out between the 50 7/8 and 51 7/8 area I would start looking to cover some of my position.. Maybe leaving 25%-33% to run with a trailing cover ..
I would love to see a video on how you get the news early, or if you have a video about it already please let me know what it is called. thanks
Fantastic video Mike! Did you look at the longer term levels before entering the trade or after entering the trade?
I like the value buying idea a lot. Tl is fine, never trade about SR on the chart. A selling climax is good to. Thx for the video.
What if I'm following my predefined exit strategy based on one or more of these signals, but I find the trade continuing in my favour shortly afterwards? Do I just look for new entries or is it prudent to revise the exit strategy? Or do I just take comfort in knowing I'm protecting profits and not let it bother me so much?
Support resistance from Biger Time frame. Break out from range and Biger volume with candelstick.
Amazing video Mike! Do you think it's a silly idea to be exiting based on risk/reward?
Say in different increments you are taking parts of your trade?
It could be 50% of the initial size at 1:2, 40% at 1:3 and then you let the rest run until a major structure
Well there is a very simple method in addition to all this: Ride 9 EMA/30 WMA trend on 5m. Hard exit on cross. This stock on that day (and most stocks in trend - like JNJ on friday) rode to 43 if exited on cross. I do personally take half though at 20% - because I do have problems with reversals and most stocks do not trend for that long , especially in choppy markets
thxs for the feedback Max
I thought it was helpful to see how you demand some kind of logic behind the exit. It seems like otherwise, emotions will be in control. We are here to make money, so do it, but have a reason. Also, I've noticed you say in several videos to look at higher time frames and not the 1min chart so much. That has been a bigger help to me than I would have expected.
Outstanding performance and thanks for sharing. I understand the main focus are stocks and if you have some Forex activity it will be beneficial to learn your experience, knowledge, and wisdom in that particular market.
Thank you
We do not trade FX Victor. Thxs for watching.
Really enjoy watching your videos.... Thanks for sharing your knowledge..
This channel offers so much more to trading education that 90% of the Internet, and for free too. I'm blown away by SMB's transparency and desire to share knowledge
im not used to the term 'cover'. does this just mean to set the stop?
Thank you
How are you guys managing and determining risk in these fast paced situations? Are you guys just really fast with a calculator?
What trading platform is this please?
I've learned so much from this video, much obliged!
Hi Mike
Plesee could you do a video on whee stop losses should be placed.
good idea
Mike you are a dead set legend. This is awesome. Thank you.
You are welcome. Great to hear you found value here.
This is EXACTLY how I cover my small cap short trades that are working out and rolling over for the whole day
Hi Mike thanks for the video, very good content. Do you have any lessons on tracking your trades? Tracking, tagging, software options. Cheers Dan
A lot of traders use Tradervue. Uploads trades directly from your broker and has all the stats
They use tradervue
@@DavidYona Thank you David for your help here. This is what we suggest.
The video is interesting.... My brain gets super activated. Thanks a lot for sharing.
Awesome freakin video! THANK YOU VERY MUCH
Great video, thank you very much for this lesson.
you are welcome
This is my main problem, I am too patient on winning trades and usually leave 50 to 75% on the table...
Great content, always! Best education for traders.
Great to hear it helped Fernando.
I sell 25% when stock goes up 10%, then buy back that 25% when it dips 10% and whipsaw with the MM. Rinse and repeat.
Why /How do big orders develop patterns?
Love all your videos
You are amazing!
Thanks for such a good video!
You are welcome!
Very helpful, thank you! 😊🙏
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks a lot for the great content Mike! a video about different systems to place your stop would be greatly appreciated!
I can't hold long trades... some sort of psychological block, lol. Telling me not to take profit QUICK is like telling me not to have a cup of coffee in the morning.... thinking about using the drawing tool and putting a big black box over my trade... bottom of the box at my stop obviously.... I'm going to give it a go this week coming up, I may get lucky and the Futures will continue to drop going into this week. =P
Short trades I can hold until the trend changes.
Congrats to those 2 guys!
Thxs Gabriel.
That’s.. One Good Trade 👀
Hey Mike, I believe this was your best video, at least the best I have seen. Thanks so much! I might send some potential new students to interview you....I am sure you get that all the time. All the best!
Thank you!
thanks
You don’t talk about partial selling / covering…is that not part of your exit strategy ?
Interesting how you trade premarket and market opening and first hour.
Thxs for the idea here Leo.
I was up 6K two mistakes took a that money off the table my selling sucks ..
"i dont know what the fuck that means," thats my exact comment, so much generalised bullshit for advice on trading, THANK YOU MIKE for drilling down on this shit and coming up with concrete strategies.
did you add a tier 2 or 3 at 55 ?
Many different ways to have traded this Francis. The idea is how you could have added within the trading system best for you.
thank-you for this video
Welcome!
Lol that's a nice sweater
Which squawk service do you guys use?
Trade the News
We use Trade the News
@@smbcapital They seem to be the best. Thank you.
]What a trade!
Aaannd it went down another $10 after that lol
Best opportunity of the trading sessions indeed and as a longer term Swing Trade for those who expressed the idea that way.
The fantasy of "what if..." is dangerous as it takes you outside of the area you have considered properly. Once you discard the plan you can't lie to yourself that it's not gambling now (nothing wrong with a gamble as entertainment but don't pretend you're being clever with your capital).
Good video, thanks
I do know where to exit, I know where to take partials, I know where to add again and I am not afraid I just have different constraints because I have a tiny account.
carlo locci If you know how to do everything so well, why do you have a “tiny” account? 😉
That's just an excuse. I started out with a tiny account too and baby step my way up.
If you claim to know where to exit, take partials, add size and ain't afraid like you said, your result will speak for itself, and ultimately your account would grow, slowly but surely.
Reason to exit! Oh yeah!
Your videos are too long you use too much fluff. Get to the point faster. Constructive criticism no hate
Thank you
