Macros are extremally customizable so you can mess with them any way you find most comfortable.

For the rapid fire macro, if youre an orc or a troll incorporate your blood fury or berserk in the macro. Super helpful to get all those cds out at the same time!

The pet one with revive, call, mend is great
Focus misdirect is also great, I was going to download an MD addon but this might be just easier all around. Might be a bit annoying constantly having a focus target but still, it’s great

the focus MD should be used when there is a tank in the group, if not the pet should be automatically MDd w no focus!
Well honestly, if you're in a pve scenario, especially a longer one like a raid, you can just make a macro for each of your tanks by name. It may be a bit of a dumbed down version of a macro but it works perfectly.

@western_TV btw you can just tap spacebar one time for the name of each macro. that way you don't have an exclamation point on each one of your spells. unless of course you like it that way :)
I do it to let me know it’s a macro and not a normal spell , old habit 😅

Im just gonna leave a few useful PVE macros of my own and also a pet skill macro for WOTLK 3.3.5 for people who play on Warmane, because in 3.3.5 the cast command does not work with pet skills. In order to cut down of skill overload i like to bake a few logical macros together in some nice sequence macros. It's not because im lazy, i swear! XD

- DPS macro - this one is for long boss fights when you have everything else on CD
#showtooltip Arcane shot
/startattack
/castsequence reset=5 Arcane Shot, Steady Shot, Steady Shot
/cast kill command
- Mark and pet attack - i like to not attack with this one so the pet gets to build a bit of aggro and to cast the pet's movement skill

/cast hunter's mark
/petattack
/click PetActionButton4 (this casts the first pet skill on the pet bar - i use it for pet charge or sprint)
*This is for people who play on WOTLK 3.3.5 on private servers. On blizz WoTLK you can cast any pet abilities like any spell.
- Aimed shot + chimera - useful for long boss fights to rapidly cast your 2 best dmg skills
#showtooltip aimed shot
/castsequence reset=6 aimed shot, chimera shot
/use [gloves*] - for engineer rocket launcher
/cast kill command
*write the name of the gloves that have the rocket launcher
- SS + chimera - a nice 2 in 1 macro i use all the time in PVE and PVP. Same for viper sting.

/startattack
/castsequence reset=target Serpent Sting, Chimera Shot
- Aspect toggle - quickly toggle aspects in long PVE fights when you run low on mana

/castsequence Aspect of the Hawk, Aspect of the Viper
- Melee skills - 3 in 1 melee skills (im not lazy, but i already have 4 bars full of buttons!)

/castsequence reset=5 Wing Clip, Mongoose Bite
/cast Raptor Strike
- Interrupt macro - this one is great in PVE and PVP for interrupting those pesky casters

*BONUS - i use this one so i can quickly cast any of 4 mounts and also dismount
- Multi Mount - just change the names with the mounts you like :)

When you start using macros in classic they really feel required especially on hunter where our apm is kind of insanely high as is if trying to actually compete. I don't even think I use anything but cursor macros in retail for hunter

Last night I did top DPS in a pug on KT and lost Envoy of Mortality in a 1v1 roll with the only other hunter in the raid (who happened to do 3rd to last dps). Here’s to hoping my luck will be better with this wow token giveaway!!

I actually only play MM for PvE and PvP, but SV is pretty simple
In Order:
Use Explosive Shot on CD
Keep Serpent Sting Up
Keep Black Arrow Up
Use Aimed Shot
Steady Shot as Filler
Make sure to not use all of the charges of Lock and Load at once, wait till all three ticks go off then apply the other charges of Explosive Shot
Hey! Thank you for this guide! One question, can I type /startattack instead of /cast !Auto Shot? What's the difference?
I am not 100% sure on how start attack works if you press it twice, but the difference between that and auto shot is that start attack would also start melee attack, where auto shot is only for ranged
The purpose of having auto shot on the ranged macros I have is that no matter what if I am hitting a ranged ability I will always be auto attacking
@@Western_TV Thx for the reply! I see, then I guess it's pretty much the same. Also one last question, I haven't tried these macros out yet, but in the case of serpent sting, the macros says @mouseover, but what if my mouse is not over anything? Will it cast it on the enemy I'm targeting?
Ya it does.
You could also mix and match the macros to customize it.
So if you want to add a modifier for focus target just add the line. There examples of that modifier macro in the last 2 macros
@@Western_TV Hi! me again. Ive been testing your macros and im loving them so far. Im having a little problem with the flare macro tho. For some reason, the /cast [@cursor] Flare is not working for me, i press the button but nothing works, any idea why this might be D:? I read somewhere that the @cursor part sometimes bug, but im not really sure. Im playing in Warmane btw, idk if its relevant or not.
It should work on warmane , the macro you pasted has an extra space !
Also the cursor should be targeted at an area in front of you, lmk of that helps

I am looking for a Chimera Shot/ Serpent Sting macro that will cast Serpent Sting once then Chimera shot every following shot until I change targets. Is this possible?
that sounds like a cast sequence macro, if you want to look up what that is. I dont really use those, but i am sure you might be able to find something.
I find it easier to have abilities with separate global cooldowns on separate macros.
Good guide, it will be much better if you put all the macro text in a comment or google doc :P

When I use ur melee macro with raptor stike, mongoose and wing clip the wing clip doesn't get activated but the raptor and mongoose are. Also another question I had was why is there the mouse over command in the wingclip macro?

Wait, so if I'm tracking humanoids in raid, will it also give me 5% dmg buff if we're fighting undead or dragonkin? That makes no sense. Did I misunderstand what you were saying there? Or were you referring to PVP mostly?
No that is right. I confirmed it in game and w other hunters. You just need to track 1 of the mentioned mobs and it counts for the 5% for all
@@Western_TV Ugh, I hate stuff like that because, then, why even bother, right? Just have the 5 points give you 5% extra dmg.
Ya it feels bad pressing that 5 times, but it really is a good talent to have :/
I'm confused, why would you need a macro for the aspects when they already have a spell key set up as default?
You do not need to use any macro
I explain that macro in the video , makes it so it doesn’t toggle off
The guide is to learn different types of macros and customize them to what best fits you

The 3 in 1 pet macro doesnt work for me. Can call and mend, but when he's dead i cant revive him
Ya I might change it, but In the meantime just revive him manually and when his nameplate shows he’s dead you’ll be able to revive. It doesn’t works when the nameplate is gone

Do I need macros for the survival hunter in retail?
i have a section in my discord for retail hunter macros. they are a bit different from WotLK

yes it does, you can also combine the macros to fit whatever you need, for instance if you wanted Chimera Shot on mouseover, or use the modifier macro at the end to put it on ctrl/shift/alt. The only one i would use with caution is the hunter's mark. If you dont want the hassle of moving/controlling your pet, You could use that one only for pvp, and use the regular hunter's mark for pve
Can u do surv hunter macro ?
You can mix and match the macros to replace the shots w the SV abilities. For example copy paste the aimed shot one and replace it w explosive shot

copied pet macro exact not working for me for some reason..
Ill post the macro below, just in case. Sometimes if your pet is dead you have to manually revive him first, before the macro works.
/cast [@pet,dead] Revive Pet; [nopet] Call Pet; Mend Pet
What is mean "...Harm] []"
its a macro condition, meaning that the target would have an adverse effect.

all the macros should be in that discord, if they are not it would just be a slight adjustment
