- We were 18, it was prom night. We had our first big fight. She said "Pull this car over". I did and then I told her, "I don't know what you are crying for". I grabbed her hand, as she reached for the door.
She said, I'll walk. Let go of my hand. Right now I'm hurt, and you don't understand. So just be quiet. And later we will talk. Just leave, don't worry. I'll walk.
It was a dark night, a black dress. Driver never saw her, around the bend. I never will forget the call, or driving to the hospital, when they told me her legs still wouldn't move. I cried, when I walked into her room.
She said, I'll walk. Please come and hold my hand. Right now I'm hurt, and I don't understand. Lets just be quiet, and later we can talk. Please stay, don't worry. I'll walk.
I held her hand through everything. The weeks and months of therapy. And I held her hand and asked her, to be my bride. She's dreamed from a little girl, to have her daddy bring her down the isle. So from her wheelchair, she looks up to him and smiles.
And says, I'll walk. Please hold my hand. I know that this will hurt, I know you understand. Please daddy don't cry. This is already hard. Let's go, don't worry. I'll walk.
Just heard this song for the first time. It's awesome! he doctor's say I won't walk for to many more yrs/months; but I'll never give up; especially after hearing this. Best Wishes to all recovering from accidents.
I was in a severe car wreck rt after high school. I've fought with it for years bc I was so badly injured. I can walk now because of my faith in Jesus, and bc of my parents. Don't ever give up! My daddy died 3 years ago, and I can't listen to this song at all. I've heard it. I can picture my dad squatting at the end of the parallel bars the first time I walked telling me, "Come to Dadddy, Jo." You are not a quitter. It's evident in the way you say you want to show them. You can do this!
i love this song!!! This song might be in my wedding when im older for my Father Daughter dance!!! cant wait
I'm bawling . This reminds me of several people . First , my son. There was a point we weren't sure if he'd ever walk. He's delayed. He kept looking at us like " I'll walk". At a month shy of 3 years old, he took his first steps. He walks all over now, and now he's 5. Second , my best friend Eric. A year before we met he was in a car accident that he shouldn't have survived. But he did. He was in a medically induced coma for 2 months. Then they stopped the medicine but he wouldn't wake up. He finally did though, another month later . He had to learn to walk again and he suffered a traumatic brain injury. He's recovered so well he's amazed the doctors. I could not be more proud of how far he's come. I love him so much. 3rd well, is me. In 2012 I was diagnosed with Ménière's disease. In 2013 I had to have my left inner ear removed to stop my vertigo because no other treatment had worked. When you have that surgery, you lose your balance on that side, and your body has to compensate on t
I'm glad everything has worked out for you, your friend, and your son. That is amazing! This may be late but I can't sleep (not because of Xmas day) but just I don't like sleeping and I'm going through RUclips listening to music and I found your comment. What you said gives me faith that anything is possible even learning to walk again. I am able to walk but I know there are some people who can't and I wish they could see this so they could have faith that others have succeeded just like they can.
this reminds me of my little cousin. wen she was 9 months old, she got very sick & had all but 1 thumb & both her feet amputated. plays soccer, softball, karate, theres nothing my little pammy cant do! does evrythign her twin sister can do, & she doesnt expect any special treatment. shes 11 now & had 2 hv more amputation last spring. wen they asked her if she was ready, she said, "YUP!" w/ the biggest smile on her face. its humbling b/c she is my hero, & yet she looks up to me as a role model.♥
i'm hooked on this song right now. the best part of country is the stories it tells and the messages within the songs.
i had a dance compation last weekend and a little boy and girl danced to this song and i could not stop crying. this is a beautiful and touching song
This song means a lot to me because I had bone cancer in 2010 and after 7 surgeries they told me the chances of walking were slim. Thanks to God and the support of my wife I am up and walking. She has no idea how much she helped me.
I heard this song on the radio while I was at work. I almost broke into tears cutting green peppers at the prep table at Subway. It's SUCH a good song!!
I love this song. Every time i hear it i start to cry because it is sad and it brings back a lot of memories
A great song really makes ya re-evaluate all that's important in life. Thank you Bucky this beautiful song broke a long silence between my girlfriend and i.
This song really gets to me every time i cry. Bucky covington really puts it all out there in his songs
I cry every time I hear this song because I'm in a wheelchair and have always dreamed of walking one day, I wasn't hit by a drunk driver though
I dont know how many times people said I wouldnt walk and how many doctors gave up on me and I look back and thank the ones who believed in me, now 2 years after my accident I can walk maybe not all the time but I can, and i proved so many wrong!
One of the best country songs ever!!!!!!! love it!
this song makes me cry everytime i listen to it
I cry everyday I'm 48 and I'm having problems with my legs I will be there soon but I'm strong my life will go on
this song is so sad, but it is also very inspiring how she try's to walk even though she wasn't supposed to be able to. that shows you that no matter what you are going through, you should be able to have the courage and strength to get through it. i have been through moments like this and it's truly inspiring to know that you can get through anything if you just try.

my little sister who was 6 got hit by a car when she was riding her bike in a parking lot. She broke her neck, and was paralyzed instantly and died. I miss her so much and will neever forget her smile that lit up the room. But i know shes walking up in heaven, and smiling down on us all. This song so reminds me of myself, i was in a car accident back in December of 2002. They said I wouldn't do a lot of and I keep proving them wrong. The first time after hearing this song I cried like a little kid. But it was happy moment it just made me realize that something bad could happen but then there is always the possibility of something awesome in the end. I am still working on walking again but I am going to do it.

One of my friends in high school got paralyzed from the waist down during one of his wrestling matches in 10th grade, he was wheel chair bound until graduation day. Then when he name got called, he stood up from his' wheel chair and walked across the stage to get his' diploma.

I mean, probably more of a hop if we’re being honest though, right?
Do you both have a relationship, the personal loving one. ✌ my brother
This one has a message so all of you who are with remember never say goodnight when one of you are made.
Talk things out.

A few years ago, I woke up and couldn't move from the waist up. I couldn't walk. I laid on the floor for three days before I was found.
I was in therapy for three months, learning how to walk again. This son really hits home.
I'm soo glad your daughter is OK. ~Wishing her no pain and smiles~
Cont. on the other side. After surgery I had to learn to walk again, with my new balance and with the after surgery dizziness . I said to my boyfriend the day of my surgery " don't worry, I will walk ". The day after surgery, with help, I took my first very wobbly steps. I was in the hospital for 5 days. When I came home, I walked. I needed help, and I banged into walls a lot , but I walked . Now , I'm doing so well, except for the times when I lose my balance a little you'd never know.
Wow
Its a very beautiful song!
Everytime I listen to this song I start crying! This caries such an amazing message! And is such a wonderful song!! :]]
Starting to be a bit disappointed I didn't go listen to him down in Rockingham today... Saw him at homecoming game Friday and figured I'd stick back. Just a massive crowd around him. One of my friends were talking about this song and I'd figured I might as well listen to it, never knew he was such a good artist till just now.

I LOVE THIS SONG
This song actually hits really close to home for me. Didn't happen exactly this way, but in my first year of college I had a fight with my girlfriend. She stormed out and took off in her car. Later that night I got a call saying she had gotten into an accident. She was pretty banged up, broken leg and everything.
It's wonderful that you were able to prove them wrong. Hopefully my boyfriend will be able to do the same. You are very fortunate to be able to do the things they said you couldn't.
I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm 22 and I was in a motorcycle accident in 2006 but I'm doing fine now the doctors thought know everything do not believe them. They said I would be a vegetable and never know anything but they were wrong. I am so smart and I have done a lot of things that they said I would never do....
This song makes me cry everytime D':
